As DP pointed out, she is creating a tribal mentality.  But that is working in Keith's favour as well has hers.  It is getting people to solidify their positions and an number are behind Kieth in a way that I don't think they otherwise would be.  I don't think that you can discount what her crazy has done to help Keith's "brand" and network over the last month.  He should be paying her a retainer to keep on doing what she has been and acting how she has since Art's death.  It would be worth it.

I'm pretty much squarely in Keith camp and I wouldnt have been otherwise- But that bitch is crazy.

I almost screamed out loud last night when she said "I too was once a nobody but then Art Bell saw something in me and made me what I am today" or something to that effect. It was so sickening.

The thing is, then she has a scapegoat-

In her particular situation, having drama, having a personified 'satan' figure (Keith) and creating tribalism and an 'us against them' mentality will actually work to her benefit in my opinion.

Shes going to a network where nobody is making any money in an 'industry' where almost nobody is even making as much cash as a part time Mcdonalds job and yet dealing with stress and hard work and crazy people- Shes already reached the pinnacle of what she will ever achieve.

I agree that Keith should just let her fail (and fail she will) without being able to point fingers at the 'unholy one' or giving an enemy for her troops to rally behind. She expects to make a living doing this and she was making a living but now reality is ready to bite her in the ass- Theres no money in this and the people doing it have to resort to beg-a-thons to even cover their internet costs.

Sad but true- Shes not going to last unless she enjoys rthe stress of semi-celebrityhood without the benefit of being able to afford a bag of weed without having another means of support.

I think she still has a daytime job, doing what she did BEFORE Art.  That is her 2nd income.  That also explains the 1 picture.  If she had more pictures, her daytime job would suffer I believe.

A quick gander at a comment on Heather's facebook and a click to a linked name within that comment lead to a dream by 'Spontaine'.
From what I gather Spontaine was a caller to Heather's MITD and was almost looked upon as some living saint by her friends (She's passed now though. So rest in peace)
Maybe a Heather fan can fill in more details... ?





She even had 'Spontainisms' or quotes they all liked to highlight. A lot of those 'Spontainisms' are contained within the youtube video.

SO, in your estimations (yours, DP's, etc).. how much of this on Keith's end is about:

a) money- He doesn't want Heather to take subscribers away from him, because it means less income (and I doubt there was much anyway).
b) business- He's got a network to run, and she was the flagship show, and now what's the point of doing any of it (even though other shows are on there).  Gotta fight for it.
c) loyalty- Art's his friend, and he's trying to do what he thinks would honor their friendship, or Art's wishes
d) legacy- he thinks he should be the legacy, and fuck Heather as the legacy
e) all of the above
f) variation of any

I do totally get what you're saying, and it does make sense. I agree that her little hobby horse is going to drop dead at some point. She's got nothing on the years of experience that Keith has. It's just irking the hell out of me.  Her behavior from day one til now.. how can anyone not see how contrived, and how manipulating it all is? I know MV says Heather was also manipulated, and I can even see what he means by that. But that gives her the right to play this little game of hers? For what? A few more moments of being fawned at by a collection of people like Paul and Ella? To jerk around someone else who actually lost a hell of a lot more than she ever could?

We live in a land of legal precedence. You must uniformly protect your rights against big and small entities.  A C&D is a cheap alternative, even if it is for kids selling lemonade stand the corner.  Idly sitting on the sidelines can torpedo one's rights at a future date.

I think MITD should have been retired as a name and a show but someone pointed out that they would have to probably end all subscriptions if they did that which is logical..But this whole thing is really petty.

The modifying factor with MITD is of course the song itself - iconic to Art, owned by...Art?
