Dr Demento had his Shaving Cream song too.  I really enjoyed the Dr's show too.

I distinctly remember the song, They Are Coming to Take Me Away,

Hello the Peeve!!!!

He posted his pic, once.  It was winter and one could only see his face from the eyes up, but he looks blond or strawberry blond.

But I meant Red for Gabs cause I thought you were addressing her.  Then I saw the post was from WhiteCrow.  I remembered his pic and he has a full head of hair.

Whew.  I hope I don't have to 'splain myself again. ;D

Nice Gabrielle.. Never heard of the "ol 96er" before.
Is an "ol 96er" like a yoga postion  69er?

Kind of a sad song.below "Sumner of 69".
Like hearing from Art, that he has COPD.

I've known extreme sadness, but never had a year,  that wasn't better than last. Always have dreams, make them happen. Looking back, no regrets, lived my dreams..
And always, touch a woman's heart, they weep..
So special.. Show them ALL love..

for the Peeve.....

Thanks,
The reason I use Candy for my avatar, is his death was one of my most profound radio moments. While in Broadcast Journalism school we were taught the John Lennon moment. That's when a newsie has to announce something so major that it becomes an unforgettable moment. Our professor of course, was a news announcer and recalled having that empty stomach moment of announcing to London Ontario that John Lennon was murdered.

For me it was 14 years later. I was a young morning news director and walking into the office at 4:45am to hear the Broadcast News wire from Toronto madly printing something off. The "Urgency" beep was steady as it printed. I looked down at the printer with dismay. I ripped off the sheet and starred at it for a long time. I remember the whole day thinking John Candy. People were coming into the office and I simply greeted them with "John Candy is dead!"
It was the look and responses on people of everyone immediately bummed that was so amazing. Even immigrants who had just moved to town had latched onto Candy. He touched us all, not with great acting, but by being a great person and being human. His death made news, was sports related, and even our dj's opened lines to talk and limit the music. It was quite a profound day and I will always associate my radio days to his death.

Although he wasn't the greatest of actors, he was a scene stealer just by his presence, and you get the same feeling watching him, as you do a great actor.
And that's why Barf is here!

Thank you. He was always one of my favorites. Like Jimmy Steward of a generation before, he'd have great scene in a so so movie,  that could touch the soul.

Problem is, I haven't lived in Southern California since '03.  However, YouTube has many of his talks.

It's nice outside here in the Great Northeast, too. Try to get some sun on your arms, some new fecund air into your lungs. I will be back later with some bacon ideas for watching Oscar dresses, coverage of which has already started. Let's see what people come up with when there is no financial barrier to looking good. Ego, all dressed up. Ergo, a good time to be had by all. 👯

I don't think I like my air to be fertile.
