At first glance this seems non viable due to laws of thermodynamics.
Not seeing any other data than undeveloped premise and a patent.
No experiments, no proof of concept, no nothing.
Similarly...
EM drive though fanciful and with some data still doesn't seem viable in reality for similar reasons and that has funding.
Call me a skeptic.

Haha yep. Had fun but was a little disturbed by the rapidity for which valid scientific notions seem to be dismissed.
I listened to the last half hour. It was difficult.
How much he attempts to mix pseudoscience, paranormal claims, pareidolia, coincidences and the like with science is disturbing, but it crosses that line for me as I wonder, does he really believe all of this? And if so, I won't chide him for his beliefs but man. He really has some people confused and misled if these ideas aren't valid or supported by significant peer reviewed research in the slightest.
It's nothing personal. I just disagree, and I told him so. He asked me to look something up I was unfamiliar with. I did. I'm still asking him to show me the evidence.

I was never a fan of his. I heard his schtick back in the 90s when Art would have him on constantly. He is not one for peer-reviewed, that's for sure.

Often times these various experts will cite papers that are either in questionable journals or unpublished. Or they are "50 pages thick" (lol) and most of us will never attempt to digest them. What makes an impact to me is if they're published in well-known (at least in their field) journals, they can explain the basic facts to a layman (and not just tell us to go read quantum theory), and other scientists in their field have reviewed and validated their claims to some extent.

Lots of people mix science with nonsense and it makes the nonsense seem more palatable. I always felt with Hoagland it was mostly just nonsense and I personally couldn't listen to him for more than 30 seconds.

Almost entirely, actually. The thing is he just doesn't grasp certain important aspects of science, like mathematics and statistics. One example would be his absolutely woeful pseudo-statistical analysis of the trajectory of Comet Elenin.

I digested several hundred pages in a couple of days for my last show.
I always say, try me. I love reading papers. It's part of the non-radio thing.
Only most of my daily reads have neurological implications. With exception of research for writing news, of course.
