If you put a tetrahedron in a sphere,  scaled so that its bottom points hit the equator, it doesn't matter if you put i t on the north or south pole.  The points on the equator w ill be the same location if you simply mirror it from top to bottom.

So how does he get 19.5 north and south if the equator points are the same?

Or is he talking about lines along the surface from each pole?

I imagine him field dressing a deer while wearing his bluetooth headset.  The animals are heavy and you have to be careful when gutting.  He probably is preparing the hides for tanning as well.
