45 of which were one-on-one meetings with POTUS. But right, this guy's a total nobody, and NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER TO THE CAMPAIGN.

I'm sure Barry would be happy to have a 'sit down' with ole rekcuf, 45 times...

I am too lazy to look for it right now but I read one article that said over 650 pages of the Affordable Care Act were written by him while he was in prison. Sounds like he took lessons from Hoagland.

Don't know if this is credible but it says 628 pages

You will have to ask 136 or 142 to get the campaign-approved answer.

I don't know what he is doing to the U.S economy.  My understanding is that he is mostly retired and mostly donates his time and money to what he regards as worthy charities, especially regarding the development of democracies overseas.

I've had a discussion with this with a friend of mine I've mentioned before who isn't a conservative, but likes to listen to right wing talk radio when he wakes up in the morning and also mindlessly regurgitates to me what they feed him.

This is my opinion of Soros' actions re Indonesia.

1.Paul Krugman was not pleased with Soros' actions, I disagree with Krugman on this.

2.Soros' sole intention was to make money.  One of the main ways he did this was by looking at countries that he believed had poor financial governance, and, if he felt their currency was overvalued, he would bet against that currency.

3.Soros' sole purpose was to make money, but he recognized that nations with poor financial governance are often dictatorships and dictatorships were something he didn't like. So, there was a happy marriage of convenience here for him.

4.His bet that the Indonesian and Malaysian currencies were overvalued paid off and he made millions.  This negative speculation though led to a 'contagion' that spread throughout Asia.  I personally don't think Soros had any way of expecting that to happen and I don't think he can be blamed for it.  Also, for the Asian nations that had good financial governance the contagion was short lived and did not cause them long term damage.

5.Although this was also not Soros' intent, the Asian currency collapse precipitated by Soros led directly to the fall of the Indonesian dictatorship.  For this, the Malaysian semi dictator at the time Mahathir called Soros a western imperialist speculator and also threw in some anti semitic comments.

My friend is mostly left wing, so he ate up Mahathir's coments about Soros being a western imperialist but doesn't like it when I reply by bringing up Mahathir's anti semitic comments.

In 1997, shortly before the the Asian Currency crisis, we here in Vancouver hosted the APEC summit which was attended by the Indonesian dictator, Suharto.  There were protests against Suharto here in Vancouver but the protests were held under very strict conditions, it seems pretty much on the demands of this dictator.  My friend at that time complained how Suharto should never have been allowed into Canada.

I told him that I find it odd how he can both not like Suharto but not approve of what Soros did.  While it was never Soros intention to bring down Suharto, it was Soros' intention to directly challenge dictatorships with poor financial governance whose currencies were overvalued, by either making money off of them by betting the currency would go down or by forcing them to adopt modern accepted financial governance standards.

By doing this, Soros was directly responsible for the process that led to the downfall of Suharto.

So, while Soros' main goal was to make money for himself and his shareholders, by focusing his currency speculation mostly on dictatorships with poor financial governance, I personally think Soros was doing a good thing.  There are many economists who agree with me on this, though not Paul Krugman.

I appreciate your response
but for me Soros is one of those nasty dudes spoken in the Bible in "Book of Revelation" and in Book of Daniel that have
very bad ideas for humanity!!!

And to honest it doesn't take that much analyzing to see that Soros is going to be the sorrow that will affect many people on this Planet
if/when he will achieve his goals

It's O'keefe who thinks this is so important that a Dead Man's Switch was necessary to keep this information from being silenced.

Man... I was just hanging out in my shop dinking around listening to the local rock station. DJ comes on out of nowhere, rips Hillary Clinton to shreds, plays a hilarious bit about her from SNL and then launches into Muse's Uprising.

...I'm in the most blue pilled part of the country outside of San Fran and the local rock station is pissing all over Clinton out of nowhere.

That's pretty interesting. Where is this support for her supposed to be coming from?

I stopped at a random liquor store to pick up some vodka for Bloodys for the F1 tailgate and got into a 10minute discussion/rant with the owner. He was Lebanese (Christian) and says Trump is misunderstood because he is a businessman and not a lawyer politician. He was looking around to see if there was anyone else in the store and then just went off against Hillary ("she is so corrupt." "She wants to open our borders." "She wants to bring even more Muslims- I know these people- these are dangerous people- look at Europe!! Europe is gone! GONE!) Etc. He was heavily accented but proudly told me he came hear 40 years ago LEGALLY and became naturalized. He says Americans are stupid to give away our country.
Another actual quote:
"I have this black customer, good customer, good customer, and we talk. We are friendly. The other day he walked in and said "how can you support Trump? He is against Mexicans and Blacks?" I say that is what the media is telling you. And I say to him- "do you own a house?" He replies "yes, I bought on this this neighborhood." I say to him "do you have a fence?" "Do you lock your door?" "Do you let any stranger just go into your house?"

Frankly I have no idea why he singled me out, except by profiling  ;) as a middle-age, white dude wearing a shirt with a US flag on it (specifically to offend Euros at the track. Haha.)

Who would have thought 12 months ago a traditional conservative such as yourself and a hell raising subversive like myself would be in the same place politically? But this is my point, I just don't understand how anyone under 35 who was raised on Rage Against The Machine and the dogma of the evil of corruption in politics can look at Hillary and think, yeah that's a good choice. This story about the radio station emphasizes my point. If a huge commercial radio station aimed at the under 40 demographic in one of the most blue states in the country is ripping her shit to pieces, what does that say?

What's really funny is that it was Hillary's own idea.

QuoteRobert Creamer goes on to add, “I was actually on a plane to go to London last week -- Christina Reynolds [Deputy Communications Director for Hillary for America] calls saying, ‘I have good news and bad news. The good news is the candidate would like to have a mascot following around the duck -- I mean, Trump.’”

Christ that was a tortured rationalization.   You seem to be saying in so many words:

A.  Soros makes his money by manipulating currency.

B.  Sometimes this causes economies and regimes to fall but it's not his primary purpose.

C.  Once in a while a corrupt regime will fall but he had no real intention for that to happen.

D.  He's a good guy because he makes corrupt regimes fall on occasion along with some that aren't.

E.   His funding of left wing subversive groups world wide is an apolitical act and not an indication of his true motives.

F.   His manipulation of currency contributes to the welfare of mankind by ruining weak economies which provides them with an opportunity to rise from the ashes which he in no way facilitates.  Any help those countries get is from our foreign aid or the IMF or somewhere other than from George Soros.

G.  His money manipulation should not be regarded as just gambling at the geo financial level but is really a benign and even philanthropic endeavor that builds homes, schools, and factories, feeds people, and generally improves the human condition.

Soros is a ruthless megalomaniac who has been ruining economies and the lives of people from the time he stopped turning his fellow Jews over to the Nazis.  He has given no more to charity or other good works than any other person with comparable wealth would be expected to give.  But I guess you are entitled to your own perspective and if you see him as a real humanitarian and all around swell guy that's okay with me.  It does, however, speak volumes about your own personal code of ethics.

I will grant 123's comments that Soros wants to make money and there likely is some money to be made in his destabilization programs and leftist social movements he promotes. I recall that in Norway, maybe in other countries, taking care of "refugees" has been outsource to a for-profit firm. One wonders if all the "refugees" Soros encourages to invade Europe aren't profiting Soros, or a Soros owned/invested companies or firms. And what about "Black Wednesday" when he tried to kill the Pound. Simply a way to make more money or because a conservative government at the time in the UK?
Actually I will sound a bit leftist when I point out that currency speculators and financiers, like greedy Soros, cause actual problems for real people when they crash a currency to make money.

I "can't recall" how many times Hillary has said "I cannot recall" "I cannot remember" etc in hearings. Isn't not being able to recall so many things, whether it is due to her drinking, meds, illnesses, or "bumps on the  head," res ipsa loquitur evidence of her not being up to the task of being President? She can't friggin remember anything and, if she is telling the truth and she really has so many memory problems, she is not qualified to be President.

No our Founders recognized that with relative freedom, capitalism, and a democratic representative republic that ethics and morality also need to be involved to function well, not become corrupt, or not lost.
