Yeah, you can get into trouble quick in Canada and Commonwealth Nations with the law and burden of proof. They, at least in England, can even, recently infamously, issue gag orders "super-injunctions" so that the plaintiff can sue for defamation but keep his identity from being published or known to the public. People on the internet from other countries often forget that it is, basically, only the US that has true freedom of speech (for now.)
