My "view" on that sort of thing? Like, whether it's good or bad? You are very strange. As you know (or maybe not?), there are many kinds of social engineering. In the case of the old coot, most likely the typical "phishing" scam would be enough for him to give up his personal information. As he said, he's been a victim of identity theft six times. That leads me to believe he is most likely partially to blame, due to bad choices.

Yeah, how do you view social engineering? It's pretty obvious that our political system runs on it right now. Hillary Clinton's candidacy is a result of it and even now, with the warts and horrific realities of how her campaign operates and how the Democratic Party works internally coming out daily, there still are staunch Democrats.

If it weren't for social engineering, there wouldn't be staunch anything in this screwy election, whether a D or an R. So I'm asking you if you think this is a good thing or not. Has liberal ideology been hijacked by crooks using social engineering to snow people? That was certainly the case in the Republican Party until everyone gave the cardboard cut outs the finger and went with Trump, which, as Michael Moore points out, is exactly what Trump is. A huge, orange middle finger pointed towards the establishment and the system, consequences be damned. But because of social engineering, something similar is not occurring in the Democratic Party, though it almost did with Bernie but the establishment won out.

So I'm just looking for an opinion. I won't say you're right or wrong, just what do you think of social engineering in politics?
