So like I said, it depends on what the next President does.  One thing sure, we need to start taking our elections seriously - they matter.

Anyone who doesn't vote should not be allowed to whinge about who is in power. I won't go so far as to suggest that it should be compulsory to vote like it is in my lil country.

The people who don't care, who aren't aware, the uneducated, those who don't pay attention shouldn't be voting.

Why should uninformed uninterested people be cancelling out the votes of the rest of us.

It bother me when people insist everyone should vote.  They should be telling people to familiarize themselves with the issues and the candidates, then vote.

I just vote for whoever has the better looking people handing out the how to vote cards at the polling booth.

On a serious note I do agree that people should educate themselves on who to vote for. My main point is that those that don't vote should not be able to whinge or protest about the winner.

Beheaded sounds like you get a head. That may be true for the person cutting it off but only if they then collect and keep the head.
Deheaded, that's the way to go.

I only condone it if it happens to you, nitwit, and the English fag.

Wow, that is REALLY special.  Only to people you don't like, you say?

Which makes you, ideologically speaking, identical to the guys you are calling animals.  You just outed yourself as thinking just like them.

Suck on that fat one, Pig-Anus.

This barbaric and cowardly act will be their undoing. They've effectively polarized the world against themselves (ISIL). They'll be a wet spot in the dessert in a matter of weeks.

Call me crazy put I think that this guy's opinions are far more rational and valid than many I have read on Bellgab with respect to the Middle East problem.

I agree but why is it that the brutal murder of one white American journalist have this effect when the slaughter of thousands of innocent brown foreign women and children only warrants barely a blip on the news and newspapers? I get that the journalist makes the threat hit home but we in the west seem to pick and choose our bad guys depending on the day of the week or the blowing of the wind.

Don't get me wrong. ISIS/ISIL/IS needs to be stopped and stopped now but it should have been done weeks if not months ago.

Also how has this barbaric act polarized them? It's not as if the general public was sympathizing with them before. Turning a blind eye maybe.

Al Gore's attempt to steal that election caused enormous damage - after the election, the Bush team was focused on that instead of planning their Administration and making appointments.  Instead of having his team and his policies in place at the start of his term, they were still scrambling.  Maybe if he'd been settled in earlier they would have been aware and able to stop 9/11.

Just when you think you've heard every crackpot, ass-inside-out neocon theory out there, another one pops out of the turd pile.

Al Gore was responsible for 911, and by extension, Bush II being one of the worst Presidents in history.  Oh Em Gee.

... Egypt, by the way, not our friends...

Of course they are.  They rooted out the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood that had taken over their country and were taking it over the cliff.

Obama is likely a MB member.  If not he's certainly a sympathizer.  Since they kicked the MB out, he's now trying to turn Egypt into an enemy.  They've already turned to Russia for support and military equipment.  It took decades of diplomacy to get Nasser's Egypt to become a friend and ally.  Sadat was murdered by the MB for doing so.

Egypt is an extremely important country.  Half of all Arabs are Egyptian, and they have the biggest military in the region other than Irael.  They have considerable influence in the Arab League.  And Obama just threw our friendship and alliance with them away.

... No offense, but NO...

Your response to assisting Assad to fight off al-Qaeda.

Since Obama didn't lift a finger to help the non-terrorist rebels in Syria when he could, they are now pretty much out of the fight.

Can you not look down the road - the next rulers of Syria will either be Assad or al-Qaeda.  It won't be anyone we like.  Just like Libya, Iraq, Iran after the Shah, Egypt, Somalia, and all the rest after their strongmen were deposed.  Are you capable of understanding the difference between bad and worse?

... That "stupid treaty" is working; enough with the fist waving...

Same concept as the coming likely dollar crisis you like to mock.

Just because something isn't happening today doesn't mean it isn't coming.  Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon today, but they are still working on one.  Do you think they should have it?

This treaty took off the sanctions and lets them work on it with our approval.  Because it allows the people like Obama to go on believing their vision of a non-aggressive, non-terrorist state, non-nuclear equipped Iran is on the table.  It isn't, he is being played.

The thing is, they aren't that strong.  It's just that they are stronger than Iraq army and the various unarmed communities they are attacking.

As it stands now, we shouldn't even have to send troops - just air strikes and support - just arm the people who want to fight them.  But they grow stronger by the day.

Because people think that we (the West) can and should ignore what goes on elsewhere.  It's none of our business, we aren't the world's police, it doesn't affect us, etc.  The Left thinks the United States is the fount of evil in the world and want to sideline us.

We have many Neo-Isolationists, and they mostly only have time to spend redistributing income here.  Others don't really pay much attention to the news at all.

So when an American or other Westerner is murdered this blatantly, people are shocked and pay attention and wring their hands for a couple of news cycles.

I could point out that many of those neo-isolationists are the same people who accuse the rest of us of 'racism' here when it benefits their agenda.  They are the least moved by the people you reference.

But to be fair, they also didn't give a hoot about the (white) people being slaughtered in the aftermath of Yugoslavia, or the people in the (European) nations held captive by the Soviets before the USSR fell.

Here in the States?  Because an American got smoked.  In Ozland?  I don't know what you guys care about.
White American.....I really don't give a shit about color.  I am a Marine by training.  The way I see it, there's the mean green line.... and everybody else.  Some of 'you' are to be protected because you can't protect yourselves.  Some of you...are to be killed, for 'you' are the wolves who would steal lives and dreams.
Thousands being slaughtered?  Since I don't actively wear the uniform anymore, and because I don't get to call the shots......I don't get to pull the trigger anymore.

Clinton mishandled the breakup of Yugoslavia and the Balkan wars

You may be right about the ineffectiveness of the military action taken by NATO.  I don't know anywhere near enough about all the causes of the irrational ethnic and religious  hatred that has plagued that region for centuries to challenge your assertion.  However, since you apparently know how to resolve  the situation in a way that will satisfy everyone involved, you have an obligation to tell the world, because nobody else has been able to figure it out.  You may be able to prevent a lot of needless suffering, so don't be shy.

You conveniently overlooked it when I pointed out the close similarities to the Islamic thugs and their attitudes and yours.

Recap:

Them: Think women have a lower standing than men.

You: Same

Them: Hate homosexuals and would do them harm.

You: Same.

Them: Hate governments

You: Same.

Them: Love weapons as a means of asserting their 'power'

You: Same.

Yep, I'd say you're similar.

I wouldn't have started with the assumption the Muslims were the victims, and our WWII allies the Serbs were the enemy.

IMO, NATO (i.e., the United States) shouldn't have been involved at all.  The Europeans should have handled it.

What.  The.  Fuck.  Is.  Wrong.  With.  You.  People?

On top of the ongoing horror circus that is the Middle East and South West Asia, another American is slaughtered.

And you all stand around pissing on each other.  Instead of having a cold and hard analytical discussion.....you stand around pissing on each other.

The barbarians are swarming over the gates, call them Repubs, Dems, ISIS, the Girl Scouts, your mom, whatever....and you stand around calling each other 'Idiot' over who's  turn it was to lock the gates.

All of you, go watch the video.  Go ahead get your popcorn.  It probably comes across as some low budget direct to video movie.  I won't watch it.  I've seen the victims of beheadings first hand when I had my second go around in the gulf.  It is an act of terror not plain old vanilla murder.

Terror requires a special, coldly approached and unflinching response.

Oh wait, that's right, you want to piss on each other.  Never mind.

Which is why I generally do not discuss politics online or anywhere really. Its all a pissing contest. People are so divided they refuse to work together for the common good. This country is fucked.

You may have overlooked it, but NATO isn't just the USA...NATO was involved in the attempt to resolve the Serb/ Kosovo conflict because of the genocide being inflicted. I know a former soldier who was involved, and he told me what was done to the Muslims there was horrendous. No less brutal or savage than is being done by ISIS in Iraq.

That certain elements of the NATO force screwed up doesn't take away the initial objective. Oh, and you're right, the USA shouldn't have been involved; a certain General by the name of Wesley Clark came close to causing a very major incident with the Russians, it was only the intervention of a British General by the name Mike Jackson that prevented it, he's quoted as telling Clark "I'm not going to start Third World War for you,"; In way it was a certain (then) Captain James Blunt (Now singer of some fame and standing) who refused to take the order from Clark regarding an assault on Pristina airport.
