I don't know anything about the criminal stuff. A friend of the family, however before he died, told us he knew Spike. Seems Spike comes from an upper middle class suburban family. Nothing wrong with that, but supposedly, Spike continues to distance himself from that fact.

I think that is all common knowledge. I thought his early films were pretty good. I haven't paid all that much attention. Somehow I don't see Spike as some gangsta... been wrong before.

Just watched Ghostbusters to honour Mr. Ramis. Sorry, watched it the other day, last week - after he passed. One of my all time faves anyway. Just another reason to watch it,really. Man, I hate how time moves on and we age. I miss the old me and the old everyone else - or should I say the "young" me and the "young" everyone else...I'm only 37 but even I think...man things were just better then (15 or 20 yrs ago)

Oh ya, ok...I also just watched Shaving Mr. banks...lol...and for real - i cried multiple times and I'm a guy...not afraid to admit it...i weeped. T'was sad but cathartic. I likes the payoff. I was happy again.

I think many of the musicians and music lovers of this forum would appreciate the history revealed in this documentary on backup singers for many successful musical groups.

Phil Specter is clearly portrayed as a dick, but one of the more frustrating people to work with? Sammy Davis Jr.

He desired/required that the singers hang out with him after the session. Not for sex, but as a group gathering to socialize to play games and hang out.

Extremely interesting to many here. I am sure of it. A strong 7 out of 10 for me.

I noticed the other day "Rush" is at Redbox.  No, it's not about a talk show host or a rock group.    One of the few movies I saw at the theater last year.  It's worth watching just to enjoy Daniel Brühl's portrayal of Niki Lauda and his interaction with Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt.

The first one is a taut little hostage drama based on a true case directed by Ida Lupino.

The second was a pleasant surprise, a schlock fifties drive-in movie by an independent Texas filmmaker and financed by a radio station owner, with locals in many if the parts. Imagine if David Lynch and Larry McMurtry collaborated on a corny sci-fi.

I just discovered The Thick of It, a satirical series from the UK about behind the scenes machinations of modern government. It's on Hulu. I laughed so hard last night, I cried. The writing and actors are brilliant. Must see.

Just watched perhaps one of the most disturbing WALKING DEAD episodes tonight (The Grove).
This one will stick with me for at least a few days.  It is especially rough if you have children.
