Well I did end up here in this thread to watch an arrogant, lazy, grifter/hoarder just to see what the guy was doing now. I posted a few of the things he did back on RedBook like begging for a radio. But that was greeted with "Yea, that is what he does, seen it all".

Then I saw that some folks here were falling for his cons and sending him cash. I tried to out him but got banned.
Then a few months latter I decided to look back at the board and I was reinstated. Senda was still conning people and I saw there were a handful of fun posters I like, so here I am.

Not much. I can recall 2 times.

One time there was thread asking for five people you admire. On my list was James Randi, I got a PM from Senda calling me an asshole. That he was anti UFO, he said stuff about Art Bell ect. That was my intri to Falkie. I wrote him off as just a UFO kook for a while and if he did talk about them I missed it.

Years later he started a rant about Disney and chupacabras. I guess they were doing a movie or something. George was bothered because they are evil creatures.
I replied that Disney has taken other mythical creatures and made them cute. He of course said they were real. A few people laughed at him and said he was wrong so he made his case.
There are a lot of reports about them and if there are enough reports then they become real.

Providers did not put out real names. They used names like OriginalCyn, FrenchKiss or luvmenot. They used fake first names, a dedicated business phone and the photos were often blurred faces or just cut off faces. Most guys used special secret phones and fake name because most of the guys are married.  Discretion is the name of the game.

There were a few guys that did not care, like Grumpy. He played in TWSOP and posted the results so we could see how he did.

Senda was the only one that straight up posted all of it on the board. When one of his cats was hit by a car he came into the board crying. He was saying that he needed to talk to anyone and he posted his phone number.
Months latter someone posted his number in my forum. He contacted me to pull it down because it was personal info. I told him no, that he posted it when his cat died so it is no longer personal.
He called me a liar but if he did post it it was because he was distraught and it did not count.

The funny part was that when he came here and started talking about her and using her real name and posting her picture, he vowed NEVER to tell ANY of us his nickname for her because we aren't worthy. 

I think a great idea for a sitcom would be Senda as some buffoon who's in a witness protection program and Seraphim as his FBI handler.  Every episode would be like watching a old lady trying to save her lap dog from running into traffic, only to get flattened by a semi.

Do you remember my incarnation as TheWhorerTheWhorer, the "bet" I had with her and "My Date with FrenchKiss"?  Geez, I haven't read that in years.  I think I have a copy of that post around somewhere.  That was one of the most memorable posts/events in the history of the site, and I don't think either of us ever revealed the truth behind it.

I would add one aspect to your post which is relevant to what WOTR asked.  The more well-known girls became minor celebrities within that community.  Because of the thrill element of getting to meet and fuck someone who feels like a celebrity, some of the girls could make astronomical amounts of money, and much more safely than they could without Redbook.  In fact, the whole setup was a benefit both to the participants and to the public at large.  It's too bad that Red was such an asshat.  He took his libertarian leanings way too far, allowing private forums for pedos and allowing a convicted pedophile and a known abuser of women to be one of his top assistants.  By the time it went down, it was time for it to go away.

StacyLove was the name, I think.  That was the trigger.  Things had just gotten out of hand otherwise and this was the last straw.  Even though RB was a bystander, they were always written about like they facilitated the whole thing.

I knew of a few cases where they took out some rapists/robbers of the girls through RB's help.  JoeC knew some Asian chicks who had been victimized, there was a guy making the rounds through the orgs and robbing and raping the girls.  He contacted LaughingGiraffe, who had some friends in the police department.  They worked with one of the orgs and when the guy make an appointment they were waiting to take him down.

There were many stories like that that I heard through FriscoJack.  FH, LG, FJ and I used to have lunch fairly regularly.  FJ gave us some of the inside dope about the site until he got really ill and was doped up most of the time.

Well I will be damned.  I saved a copy of "My Date with FrenchKiss" on my portable hard drive.  Reading it now.  I'd post it here but there are a couple of fuckin prudes here who would probably have a conniption if I did.

It's kind of a glimpse into what made the earlier days of the internet "great."  It really did have a different feel than most of the new net.  (Granted, perhaps I like BG because it still has that nostalgic feel?)

One last question for now... Was there a "review" section?  If so, did it include just reviews of the providers- or did it include the hobbiests ts as well?  Would there have been a private section (or a PM chain) strictly for providers to warn one another of hobbiests to avoid?
