You want to throw racism into the mix, start with that.

I wish you had not edited your response to go off on a rant intended to distract from my point.

You described the traits of someone that you would consider an undesirable resident of the USA, and it was a PERFECT description of Falkie, someone whom you have socialized with in his home and encouraged and supported publicly on this board.

I don't think you are off-beam with not wanting people like that to be accepted as residents; in fact, I'm curious to know what politician or other public figure of any political stripe that specifically advocates someone with those traits being allowed in as an immigrant.  But you're engaging in hypocrisy by backslapping Falkie and then turning around and saying "we don't want that kind in this country."  And it's just demagoguery to pretend that anyone supports immigration of people like him, or that the system currently allows for it.

Get it now?

PS  Thanks for giving me the chance to call you a demagogue as well as a hypocrite.   ;D

I realize that I'm making a utilitarian argument that most people will balk at reflexively, but I would ask you to consider it.

Let's take an analogy that is not so provocative.  A department store says that any loss through theft is unacceptable.  So they hire a hundred guards, install security cameras to cover every square inch of store, install surface scanners at the exits, and so forth.

While this might help them approach the goal, it makes no sense from a business perspective.  They are losing more in support of this approach than they gain by using it.

Now, the war on terror.  The 9/11 attacks resulted in about 9000 casualties (about 3000 dead and 6000 injured) as well as $15 - $20 billion in direct damage and indirect losses of up to $100 billion.  In response, we took a "never again" stance, invading and occupying two countries at a cost over 14 years of about 66,000 casualties (about 10,000 dead and about 56,000 injured) and $4.5 to $5.5 trillion dollars, and counting.  This does not include in excess of one million deaths to citizens of those two countries (5% of the Iraqi population has been killed to date), for whatever you think that's worth.

Was it worth it?  There hasn't been a repeat of 9/11 or anything close to it, but we haven't secured either of those countries or reduced the impetus for terrorism at all.

Still, the risk of another 3000 deaths and tens of billions of dollars is hard to accept, even under this kind of clinical analysis.  Correct policy or not, it is an investment of lives and money to save lives and money.

But what about domestic terrorism?

How many people were killed in the USA by Muslim extremists last year?  Do you even know?  Here's a hint: much less than were killed by white Christian males.  It is simply not possible, in a country as vast as the USA, to seal the country and have ZERO casualties.  In light of this, the proposals to suspend the Constitution to "fix" this problem are unarguably an over-reaction that will result in more damage than benefit.  This is no longer investing lives to save lives; it is undermining our fundamental rule of law to maybe save a couple of dozen people a year.

As a society, we put up with a lot of shit that is useless at best under the principles of the 1st Amendment.  We accept that those principles are larger and more important than suppressing that filth.  I don't like the notion of "acceptable" casualties any better than anyone else does, but I think it is a worse choice to put the life of any one citizen above the integrity of the Constitution.

Well, again, I wasn't for those wars either.

We have only really begun importing Muslims here.  We are way behind western Europe on that.  Can we not look at their experience and decide we don't want that?  The fact is, Islam and Sharia are incompatible with Democracy and the Constitution.  That worldview and those values are too different from ours, we don't need more polarization in our society, let alone violence.

As far as white American mass murderers being 'Christians', they are hardly your average Sunday school attending, Bible reading believer.  Those calling them 'Christians' wish it were so, and enjoy smearing Christianity.

Regardless of our current crime and murder rate, it makes no sense to bring more potential criminals and murderers into our country

Making changes to immigration law has zero to do with the Constitution.  No one has a Constitutional right to come here

I went over there to pick up a copy of one of my cartoons he got George Noory and Tom Danheiser to sign.  He was very personable, much different from the Falkie we see on videos, and we had a good conversation.  I talk to a lot of people

I've made suggestions I thought would benefit him, as have others.

That doesn't mean we should import people into this country who would go straight onto public assistance.  Nothing to do with Falkie.  This isn't self explanatory?

So you advocate that we should not let the actions of a minority of religious extremists affect our opinions of the vast, peaceful majority of that religion?  Fantastic!  You're almost home, buddy.  Just apply that same approach to Muslims and we can wrap this conversation before Falkie gets out of bed this afternoon.

"Only really begun"?  Dude, what color is the sky on your planet?  I was a member of the MSA (Muslim Students Association) at two colleges while going to school.  I am an atheist, for the record, but I wanted to form my opinions based on personal experience.  You are dead wrong about how you perceive the majority.  And I wish you could have heard some of the stories of the discrimination and hatred they face on a daily basis.  These were fuckin American citizens.  It was shameful.

Thanks for the penetrating analysis, Captain Obvious.  Now, can you bust out the name of the politician or public figure that EXPLICITLY advocates that?  Not by your inference, but explicitly states that we should?

Ever talk to any Muslims?  I mean, other than to ask if they are murderers or on welfare?

And of course Falkie was personable.  He's not going to get a handout or loan from a potential mark by being an asshole, after all.

Have you not heard of chain migration?  Where people bring in their relatives, who often go straight to public assistance?

Many are old and retired, they sign up for SS, Medicare, food stamps, you name it, and live with their adult children who brought them here.  Those adult children then have that as extra family income and use them as free baby sitters, courtesy of the rest of us.

Others flow in across our southern border and are allowed to stay.  Surely you've seen the media reports of this.  They aren't all here working.  Many of those who are earn low wages or are paid in cash and don't report it, then sign up and receive assistance.  Their spouses and children receive assistance.  It's ridiculous and a rip off.  You don't think this is going on?

Yes, I have 2 Muslim friends.  We quit talking about this awhile back.

We have nowhere near the percentage of Muslims some of the western European countries have.  And we aren't talking about existing Muslims in the US who are for the most part more educated and more civilized than those now living in the Muslim world.

If you can't look around the world and see these people can't get along with their neighbors, then I don't know what to tell you.

How did we secure our northern border so well and why don't we do the same thing to the south?

You should have told me that a debate with you about barring Muslims refugees from the USA would quickly devolve into a parade of straw men about the undesirability of admitting welfare leeches and murderers.

But I will write it down that you can be bought off for autographs by world famous celebrities such as Noory and Danheiser.  At least Falkie held out for a pair of glasses.

I know for damn sure that it's going on in a shithole apartment in Martinez.  I guess I will be okay with that once I get a couple of autographs and some personable conversation.

As for the third message, it referred to a very simple error which could be set right in a couple of minutes. As short a time ago as February, the Ministry of Plenty had issued a promise (a ‘categorical pledge’ were the official words) that there would be no reduction of the chocolate ration during 1984. Actually, as Winston was aware, the chocolate ration was to be reduced from thirty grammes to twenty at the end of the present week. All that was needed was to substitute for the original promise a warning that it would probably be necessary to reduce the ration at some time in April.

If that's so, then it seems to me there are two possibilities:

A)  The existing immigration system is weeding out the "bad" Muslims and only admitting the "good" ones;

B)  The system does NOT weed out the "bad" Muslims, but upon coming to America they are motivated to, and are successful at becoming "good" Muslims.

Either way, I don't get why we should be turning away Muslims just because they are Muslims.  If you're right, then there's no problem here in the USA under the current system.

We learn that a stroll to the Post Office took Falkie out for 4 days.
He was in bed for 4 days constantly screaming in pain until Patty came to his rescue.

Is this the beginning of a new romance for those 2?

He says this happened on Monday the 28th and lasted four days (through Jan 1, presumably).  He was screaming for four days.  In bed.

On Dec. 30th, he published six videos.  Out of bed, no screaming.

On Jan 1, two more videos.  The first one on location at Barnes and Noble bookstore on Dec 31st.  No screaming.  The second, outdoors marching around filming Christmas lights on New Years Eve.  Lots of huffing and puffing but no screaming.

Falkie is such a fuckin liar and a drama queen.

I just wonder how much weight it put on him.
If a few days in bed barfing for 23 hours a day put 100 pounds on him then a few days of screaming like a banshee is like an all you can eat sundae stand.

Kind of ironic that the graphic on the vid has the Steelers as Mexico.

I don't think it's wise for Falkie to go to that woo-woo con in So Cal.  Poor lil fella is on death's door, can't get out of bed and screaming all the time.  Imagine how a plane flight would affect him.  Imagine how the other passengers would react to the screaming.  It would be like sitting near a 400 lb squalling infant.

For Falkie's sake, for the sake of his well-being, don't donate to any of his woo-woo con funds until he gets better.

If falkie weighs 350+ he will need two seats.

If falkie weighs 350+ he will need two seats.

You may be right about that.  From the Southwest web site:

" How do I know if I need a second seat?

The armrest is the definitive gauge for a Customer of size. It serves as the boundary between seats; the width between armrests measures 17 inches.  Customers who are unable to lower both armrests and/or who encroach upon any portion of the adjacent seat may proactively book the number of seats needed prior to travel or receive a complimentary additional seat."

Falkie sports a dainty 62 inch waist, meaning his diameter, in theory, is close to 20 inches.  In reality, it may be more than that since his cross-section is more likely to be somewhat of an oval than a circle.

In any case, he's fucked.  He needs two seats.

The interesting thing about this is that a youtube video of Falkie being Falkie, a documentary of his trip to that woo woo con, would generate a million hits.  A fat, clueless retard is always in demand when it comes to youtube viewers.  Falkie is just that close to youtube fame, but in typical Falkie fashion, he's going to fuck it all up by pretending that he has some dignity.

How was I 'bought off'?

I thought it was pretty funny those two would sign my cartoon.  It wasn't discussed but I looked at Falkie bringing me one as fair, since he was planning to sell a couple of them on EBay.  If you don't like it, too bad

I would suggest the parents of the Muslim kids you met at school came here long before the Muslim world was nearly as radicalized as it is today.  Many likely came from Iran, which is, for the most part, civilized.  Or from places like Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia that didn't have terror as a political strategy until fairly recently.

If their parents were from places like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, or even somewhere like Palestine or Syria, they were likely from the upper classes and very well educated (and not jihadi nut jobs).

Unlike what we see coming into Europe now - poor, unskilled, fundamentalist - too many (of course not all) of whose agendas seem to be crime, rape, and attacking Jews and the rest of us.  Not to mention terror cell members.

Hope that helps

You seem to think we have some obligation to import these people, that it's a Constitutional requirement, that it's simply a continuation of what we've done historically.  You are 0 for 3 on this.  But congratulations, you're able to memorize and repeat what your leftist professors indoctrinated you with.

I've heard Savage talk about Liberalism being a mental disorder, and I thought that was a little over the top - now, not so much.
