The sadness in Heather's voice when she said she calls art every day asking him to come back  :(

SMH violently on that one. So obviously BS, delivered by a third-class BSer. Can you imagine what that conversation would soon turn into? Day after day of pleading, begging, whining? Art would hit the dump button on day three or four and all our problems would be solved.

Yes I was highly skeptical about her statement that she calls Art every day asking for him to come back.  However, maybe they do talk every day on the phone and he reiterates the situation.

...but thanks to Bateman (who got the ball rolling) we learned plenty about Heather and the state of things.

Yes, he was PISSED!!! He hasn't posted since that night.

1. Is Heather Wade your real name?
2. If you are so reluctant to be on the air, why did you pull a hissy fit and get a man fired who was trying to find a replacement to take the heat off you?
3. Isn't it more likely that, instead of saying 'we don't want a woman on the air', they actually said 'we don't want that woman on the air'?
4. Did Art ever explain why your co-hosting gig a few months ago ended after one badly-received appearance? If he thought you were an embryonic talent, why didn't he find you a low-profile spot on DMDN to cut your teeth and learn from your mistakes?
5. Did Art explain why you got the producer's job based on zero experience or demonstrable aptitude for the position?
6. If you failed as a co-host, why have you been considered suitable (by the man who canned you previously) to be the sole host of the show?
7. Why are you so reluctant to reveal anything about yourself? The first thing people tend to think when people do that is that they have been in jail.
8. Why are you so confident that there is a stalker? Do you have first-hand knowledge, or is it all based on Art's testimony? If it was, then why did you think you had the authority to file a police report without his knowledge?
9. Are you living in Pahrump?
10. Did you come on the show of your own volition, or did Art tell you to?

That's for fucking starters! I listened to the whole bloody show waiting for someone to ask an interesting question, but everyone seemed more interested in trying to play kissyface. You could have started by asking both of them whether they stood by their statements on the forum: Does Bateman think Heather is a shambling, hysterical no-hoper, who has no place being on the air? Does Heather think Bateman is a gutless pussy who soils himself at the thought of live radio?

Another problem was they had had time to cool down a bit, but you could have easily stirred things up a bit with those questions. It's pretty obvious that Heather really wants to be on the air, and flipped out when she heard she was being replaced, and that call to Bateman was an hysterical attempt to fuck with his head. Getting someone fired for doing their job is a shitty thing to do, but you let that slide as if it was nothing of importance.

From the comments yesterday it sounded like Heather was really rattled, but when I listened you let her have an easy time of it. She said she wanted to be asked the difficult questions, and you avoided every single one of them. Rather than this being a sexist thing, the only reason I can see that she is being given a pass is because she's a woman and people think she's cute. If it were a man in that gig giving a similar performance the cat-calls and insults would have been deafening. Other women, in particular, are very reluctant to criticise Heather for fear of seeming jealous.

I am sure we call second-guess things, but there were so many missed opportunities on that show that I was close to tearing my bloody hair out. Other than that, you all did an excellent job. Well done!  :)

This is awesome.  Why weren't these asked?  Would Heather call into the Gabcast again so someone could ask these questions?  Well, with the exception of the where she lives question.

I'm still royally pissed off that (Redacted) and Bateman even called in. Self-promoting, arrogant twats they are. The show is GabCast. Not MITDCast or DCCast dammit. They can call each other out on their own shows.

We had important stuff to discuss. Falkie had just been to a Woo Woo Con. The number of Trump posts on the forum heavily out weigh the number of posts for all other candidates. There was bacon in the Bella-Haven thread. People were mourning the passing of David Bowie. On January 17, 1916 something happened. I don't remember what, but I saw a post on it. LittleChris is back. EddieCoyle isn't. Everybody knows Clinton is a crook, but there is heated debate about whether or not she will be indicted. Chine has new artwork. Haiku production has slowed way down.

THESE were the issues we should have been discussing. Things that are the heart and soul of BellGab.

The interviews were a travesty. Not because of the questions that were asked or were not asked, but by the mere fact that they happened at all.

I ask you again... What difference does it make???

I came. I saw. I read. I heard....and it's weird, GS. Most of us (trolls excluded, of course) came here as fans of a show willing to give a network created around it a chance. However, now all the drama and intrigue around this show and network has become the show. It's very meta, indeed. I used to be a fan of The Larry Sanders Show, which was a show about a guy doing a show. The whole thing is starting to remind me of that. If it wasn't all so fucked up I'd say it may have been intentionally steered this way to generate interest in the controversies.  ;)

Regarding Heather and Steve's appearance on the Gabcast I felt bad, as clearly these two were friends caught at odds by the situation that surrounds them. While I understood both their positions I think Heather drew first blood based on an emotional reaction she had to 1. Pressure she was obviously receiving from DMDN management and 2. Opinions she was reading here in Bellgab. She admitted as much and apologized for it by the end of the show. I feel kinda bad though because I know I was one of the people who expressed the opinion early on that Steve would be a better replacement host for Art but it was an honest opinion not based on any malice toward Heather only more of an appreciation for the quality of his interviews. It had absolutely nothing to do with gender. Having said that, I do think some of Heather's shows have gotten better lately. Though I wish she'd stay away from obviously crazy guests. This genre of show works best when the guest's sanity is questionable but not confirmed insane.  ;)

Yes, I am NOT a professional.  You'll get no argument from me.  I, very much, regret volunteering for that episode.  I could have feigned tech or Skype problems and bailed, but I didn't.  I gave my word to co host, and kept it.  I was simply doing my part to keep things from getting bloody ugly.  But, apparently, most folks in the chat room wanted to see a cage fight.  I do not regret, nor do I apologize for helping to keep things from turning into a blood bath on air.  Also, I will never apologize for being me, for being who I am.

Because the SheddedBastard was too afraid to call in and actually speak to a woman.

At some point, before she was Heather Wade, she told us she lived in California....or MV said it or something.

So you wanted the show and it's host(s) who have a friendly relationship with Heather, who have done several podcasts together with Heather, suddenly start asking loaded, hostile and unnecessary questions?

It's so obvious that the hostility that is showed Heather is just misplaced anger from what Art Bell has done.  You can't reach Art Bell so you attack weaker prey.

You guys really sound similar to SJW's and people who enjoy recreational outrage for the sake of outrage.

To the people bitching about bateman. I think he said some critical shit towards Heather's show on here but he was pretty restrained in his comments until things went off the rails. But what do you want? He had three choices.

1. Disappear completely and not say a word. Why should he do that? Most of those close to Art or Art apologists tried that but they all have popped up here and there. No matter how political they're trying to be. Also it would hurt his business if he can't keep his online visibility up.

2. Lie through his teeth about how great she is and how not shitty everything is. A lot of the usual suspects tried that for awhile. It doesn't work well. Plus he completely loses his credibility and looks like an ass kissing idiot.

3. Do what he did which is say what he honestly thinks. Heather clearly called him 30 minutes before the show because she was sick of reading how much she sucks and how much better he is. So she pulled that passive aggressive act because she's an idiot and clearly doesn't understand the world she's in. Her arguments yelling at bateman didn't even make sense after that. What is he supposed to do? It's like a five year old criticizing the architecture of the Golden Gate Bridge to the people who designed and built it. This is after near 40 days of gritting his teeth and trying to be a team player.

Yeah he eviscerated her. What other choice did he have?

My biggest disappointment with Batemen was when he brought up the early phone call when Heather had called him as a friend seeking advice. The contents of that call were not related and he used what should have remained a personal conversation to beat Heather up. That part, to me, showed a lack of good judgement. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. I had picked several other words before I settled on lack of good judgement.

For the record, I have never done a podcast with Heather, I have only spoken to her one time on open lines. For the record, this was Showroom Dummy's first podcast.

I agree with the rest o your post.

I think the point that he was making was that he was always there for her in her time of need and was shocked at how quickly she turned on him. But I don't want to put words in Steve's mouth. That was just my take on it, that's all.

He didn't really go into detail about the call that lasted until 6AM, only that she was upset after a rough night of open lines. His point was that he tried to be a good friend to her concerning the show, only to have her oddly rattle his cage about hosting "for the lulz." I don't think that's detached from the larger issue at all.

Once he called that call a meltdown, he lost my respect. There, I said it. I don't care if he used those words for the one 30 minutes before the show... He shouldn't have called the other one a meltdown. That was a cheap shot IMHO.

You don't think listening to someone completely over their head rambling at you until 6 AM about how they're failing and don't understand isn't an important piece of the puzzle when telling the story of what's happening? Have you even been at that end of one of those one calls?

It also completely illustrates how insane Heather's rattling of cages is. Let's say I'm a Major League ball player and you just started as a high school pitcher. You get shelled game after game and you're about to get thrown off the team. You call me crying about all of it with my trying to help you until 6 AM on top of other times I've tried to help you. Then you come out and blast me as a two-faced liar publicly immediately afterwards?

Not to mention he wasn't even the only one saying these things who were around the situation. He was just the one she was dumb enough to go after publicly.

I could be wrong but I think bringing up that call was only to illustrate that he has tried to help her in the past and little more. That was weeks before the Monday call thirty minutes before show time after she discovered Keith and Pete were actively looking for a replacement and decided to take it out on Bateman.

Not misplaced anger at all. Heather and Art are now in this thing together. They both are MITD.  She works for him and represents as well as shares many of his interests in (and POV on) the show and the current controversy. She can and should legitimately be questioned. You are unfairly maligning people here as quasi-sadists. And I'm sure that none of this is obvious to you, insensitive as you've often shown yourself to be.

And I have said it before, and I will say it again. I donate to Bateman's show and I subscribe to MITD. I want them both to succeed.

The point I have been trying to make all along is that their were no winners in the whole discussion. Well, maybe Noory.

She's had literal meltdowns on the air before. Would calling it a breakdown rooted in panic and psychosis be a better phrase?
