I like the way you think, possibly because I think the same way. I said earlier that it would be necessary to prepare for this eventuality. How?

Sredni's suggestion is: "I think you can ask those questions in a charming way, you don't have to beat her over the head with them."

My suggestion is to take Sredni's suggestion. Also, don't identify yourselves as BGers as some have suggested. There's no upside there, only downside.

You want to come off as asking a reasonable question that genuinely concerns you for a good reason relating to the future of the show and the concerns of listeners -- and be prepared to state that reason if necessary. This should not be hard because it will be true. It just requires some pre-thinking.

Beyond all this, don't push. When she evades or BS's, better to show confusion over her answer than frustration and hostility. Remember, you're the good listener, she's the bad host. Keep it friendly-sounding and polite on your end.

This is basically a weak but noble attempt to get answers and/or get the show back on track. You are representing the thousands of listeners who have now abandoned MITD for greener pastures (which sometimes just involves going outside and walking around). Go forth and seek the truth.

BTW, as to operational security, this is like a good running game in football. The defense can know exactly where and when you're going to run and still be unable to stop you.
If any of this BS "genuinely concerns you" then you need to get out more often.  ???

If you are not "genuinely concerned" and call in then you are just another troll no matter how ingratiatingly you phrase it. lol You ass. ha.  :D

I like to see the Senda Kittens get out of their box every now and then.  :D

This forum is chock full of intelligent, creative and awesome posters and I am not just saying that because I post here. I may not agree with a lot of other posters' positions on certain matters, but if we all agreed on everything and were Minnesota nice, this is what reading here would look like:

I couldn't agree more IB. Preaching to the choir gets boring and provides nothing to learn.

Dug one up to support you.

Thank you PBS- I knew I could count on you.  :)

T'was brutal reading his old posts. But I learned a much quicker way to do it today.

Bell was one of the less intelligent posters on the site. Or his posts always read that way.

What are You saying?

This thread was a cheering section and a place for him to get people to do things for free.

Bell knew he'd never be challenged here, never knew he'd have to pay a nickel for the help he was getting, so he loved it.

Ha.

His default setting seemed always to be one of puzzlement. Did he ever solve any of his own problems, or was it just MV and anyone else good enough to help him?

I better stop now before whatever remains of his monkey army gets distressed again and starts calling people swine. Talk about long knives.

From your response, it seems you are against anyone calling in and asking any of the suggested questions. Why is that? What exactly do you object to? Do you feel that they have no merit or that there's nothing to be gained? Use as many words as you like. You tend to write very short posts.

I thought you lot from NY were supposed to be tough and all. Why does it take some gay-sounding guy from across the pond to tell you where your balls are located?

lol

My sensibilities have been thoroughly bludgeoned by hard NY living. As grotesquely compliant as the hosts may have been, it was still a massive horror show. I can't imagine how much worse it could have been were questions posed by someone with a low tolerance for horseshit.

Have you any idea how late it is when that show goes out? I can only load the gun, I expect you to be steady, take aim and fire.

The last hour of Open Lines is 7am Saturday morning for you. Surely you're not going to pussy out.

Oh, it's not a knock on you guys at all. I think you all did a fine job hosting, the horror show for me was in how Heather presented herself. Despite your best efforts at maintaining decorum throughout, you can readily see how the appearance largely translated on the forum. I'm not sure I want to hear a show where she's pressed by someone who's willing to cut to the chase as MV often does... I think it'd be really ugly.

I was taking the piss. Sorry if that slipped past you. C'mon, you seriously don't want GabCast Hardball? Perhaps it's just my slimy limey nature showing through again, but I'd like each show to have a fair amount of broken teeth, shed tears and scattered bodily fluids at the end of it. MV wouldn't have to worry about buying diapers because he could afford to buy the factory. A rotating quorum of baying hounds ready to tear apart a fresh victim every week! Bring. It. On.

Is it a deliberate ploy to annoy me by consistently misspelling my name? I can only say that it's working. For one thing, I promised my mother, for another it makes me sob like a baby.

I don't want to over-expose myself. I only just finished my sentence for the last time. And it's 'pointed', not 'poignant'. That really grinds my gears, so many people get that wrong. A 'poignant' question would be, 'Heather, tell us about the time you were playing catch with your puppy and it got skewered on a radio antenna'.

As cunty online personas go, I think I have a way to travel before I reach your exalted standard. I don't think a pit bull with giant balls sounds all that intimidating anyway. They'd be dragging on the ground so much that you could just stroll away.

I'd rather be a cunt than a wanker. What's your excuse?

All of the above. The mud pack goes on at 11 at the latest, and then I can't use the headset.  If it's a choice between the GabCast, and maintaining my schoolgirl complexion, I am afraid you boys lose out every time.

It's difficult to take you seriously, but then I am sure you are used to that. Stop using these bloody acronyms when you are talking to an adult. At least I got a good laugh out of that bit about 'recreational outrage', from someone who spent ages attacking one side, before turning Turk and going the other way. I guess your pimply cohorts on 4chan would call you a HPOS. That's 'Hypocritical Piece Of Shit', by the way. My own coinage, don't thank me!

Now, HERE'S the OLD Sredni we all know and love.  WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN MAN? ;D

Oy. Don't get me started on them. Their only good shows are The Positive Mind (if they still run the encore shows after Armand died), Gary Null and Off the Hook. I met Eric Corley/Emmanuel Goldberg once and he was a really cool guy.

Last that I heard, MV had even withdrawn his offer to pack up the mower to cut Arts lawn.

Spelling, punctuation, syntax and vocabulary always seemed to run, screaming, away from Art.

It was a good thing someone mild-mannered was hosting the last Gabcast.  With MV at the helm, things could've gotten gnarly.

When someone is playing stupid, as Art did in that post, the "it's a beautiful day" ending doubles the assholism.  The blame lies squarely on the $10-Million Dollar Man's shoulders.  Quitting with suspicious stories, actions contradicting those stories, the whole thing...  His "fans" are smarter than that and called him on it.

And to think, they're waving a victory in our faces with the addition of a low-power AM station that I don't even believe my radio could get (I think my car's digital tuner goes to 570)...

Art expected us to drink the Kool Aid.
