Now we learn that Special Prosecutor Angela Corey (R-Jacksonville) has fired the IT specialist who recovered data on Trayvon Martin's phone that the Florida Bureau of Investigation had not been able to recover.  On Friday, a state attorney's office investigator delivered a letter to Ben Kruibros' home .

The letter contended Kruibos did a poor job overseeing the information technology department, violated public records law for retaining documents, and noted he was questioned in March when the office was trying to determine who had leaked personnel information obtained through a computer breach.

This despite his having received a raise for "meritorious conduct" according to a letter dated May 16 in his personnel file.

After Kruibros retrieved the information from Martin's phone, he became concerned that the State had not turned over exculpatory information to the defense as is required by law and the Constitution.  He sought advice from a personal lawyer.  That lawyer told Zimmerman's lawyers, leading to a hearing last month.  Both the lawyer and Kruibros were subpoenaed and testified.  The trial judge is reserving a ruling until after the jury returns.

It speculates that Kruibros was also under suspicion by Corey because of leaks about how she used more that 340,000 dollars of taxpayer money to upgrade her own, and Martin prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda's pensions.

As I've said in the past, Angela Corey is Nancy Grace without the charm.  But she has the support of the police chiefs and police unions in her district.

The real question and what needs greater attention is WHY do poor and predominately black youths have no better prospects than crime? it seems a simple question, but it has a prism of cause and effect attached to it.

I contend that it is primarily due to the breakdown of the black family which, in turn, is an unintended consequence of Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty. The cost of Johnson's War on Poverty, $15 trillion, nearly equals the entire $17 trillion national debt. It has created a permanent underclass that is dependent upon the federal government. There is little incentive to leave the government plantation. In turn, political proponents of the welfare state rely upon the dependable votes of the under class. It is a vicious circle that traps blacks into total reliance upon the government for their basic needs. That is why liberals bitterly opposed the creation of empowerment zones in black communities.

In 1964, the national out-of-wedlock birth rate was 7.7%. Today, the out-of-wedlock birth rate for blacks has tripled to 70%. Most unmarried black women become mothers while they are in their teens, and 80% apply for welfare benefits.

Along with the breakdown of the black family, the black culture has steadily deteriorated. The black family survived the evils of slavery and segregation. It could not survive the War on Poverty. Far too many of today's black youth defy social norms at every turn, with their music, speech and manner of dress. Far too many are illiterate, and are incapable of speaking proper English. Their futures are bleak, and crime is an acceptable outlet.

There is a perverse disincentive for black leaders to seek change to a system which commands responsibility and offers opportunities. Their power lies in the status quo. They thrive on creating divisiveness, racial animiosity and discontent.

And you would be right. People my age can remember the vestiges of the black middle class which existed until the 60's. It seems almost perverse that it was in the waning days of segregation that there was a thriving black American culture which resulted in greater social and familial stability and more upward mobility for more blacks than at any other time in America. But with Johnson, it all changed. I remember as a baby lawyer in the early 80's that even though I saw dozens of black women in their 20's, not a single one had ever been married, and yet each had multiple children. It began coming clear when I realized that each young black woman was well aware that she would receive Aid to Dependent Children payments (and then later SSA payments) for up to 5 illegitimate children, but only if the father did not reside with them. The scams continued with what the black mothers called their "dummy money" in the 80's and 90's when they got Social Security disability payments if they persuaded school officials to declare their children learning disabled. These women would get angry if the schools said their kids were perfectly intellectually normal because they looked at it as money out of their pockets. 

The United States and states governments found a way to incentivize illegitimacy. A Nazi could not have come up with a more effective way of destroying the strong black middle class which America had in place until the 60's.

Not at all - but there is a "bring it on" attitude among some of the comments. Reading comments on The Blaze sickens me just as much as those from far left websites. What I'm finding there that really bothers me is the expectation of riotousness as if it was genetically bred into blacks. Being a conservative agnostic myself, it makes me sick to even read much of what goes on there.

Man, you nailed it. You saw through the clever plan of conservatives here of not posting a single inflammatory comment, and you were able to somehow intercept the secret microwave messages from Right Wing Central which commanded, "Salivate for riots".

This verdict was a foregone conclusion -- as I stated before -- and I suspect even the prosecution team knew it. They had absolutely no case what-so-ever. NONE.

It was pure political expediency that gave this ridiculous spectacle life. It's a terrible tragedy for the Martin family, and my heart bleeds for tbem, but it would have only served to compound the tragedy if a guilty verdict had been returned.

Zimmerman's life is forever changed; he will not know true peace in this lifetime. Neither will his family. The Special Prosecutor should face disciplinary action for this debacle!
