Well, I've read with great interest the speculation here about the new and potentially fake Arthur W. Bell III Facebook page. Since I was the one to first bring it to your attention, I feel some sense of responsibility to follow up on any sleuthing I have since done.

Whoever is posting as Art does seem to have Art's manner of writing/speaking pretty well mastered.  However, in that writers on this very thread have demonstrated great talent for mimicry, that may be meaningless, as there are certainly others who can do the same.

My most recent thoughts are that it seems more than strange that "Art" has posted nothing new on the Fantastic Forum board where he is a member and where he posted twice recently.  More than that, he has failed to include Fantastic Forum under the Activities and Interests category on his FB info page. On that page, he has listed some odd choices (to my mind), including the People Who Miss Art Bell page that he just learned of this past weekend. Going to FB pages of people named there, I am surprised at who they are, out of all the possible choices on FB. The George Knapp issue also troubles me -- something doesn't smell right there.

I have grave suspicions that this is NOT "our" Art Bell.  Hope I'm wrong.

Yes apparently, according to my sources from NASA and through remote viewing, apparently the REAL Art Bell was sent back in time.  He was chosen by extra-terrestrials, Shaquille O'Neal, and the AARP to go back in time to complete a 3 part mission: Kill Hitler, help Einstein with the Unified Field Theory, and to make sure that George Noory takes his rightful place in history at a Buick dealership in Ohio.  He did succeed, but unfortunately for us the fruits of his mission are reaped in a parallel universe and not our own.  So the Art Bell in our dimension has been replaced by a robot.  So, puzzle solved.


He is back on the air, though, and the show is better than ever.  But alas, not in our dimension.  I can pick it up through a filling in my tooth.  I'll see if I can record some of it and post it here.  Hopefully Clear Channel doesn't have copyrights to his para-dimensional show.

My gut says it's legit. It just "feels" right.

That said, someone should comment underneath Knapp's "is it really you?" post to this effect:

"Mr. Bell, for those in your fan base who are skeptical, as is Mr. Knapp, that the page under your name is authentic, can you privately confirm to Mr. Knapp in a way that he will know for sure it is you, and that he can then convey this to the rest of us?

"Mr. Knapp, would you be willing to do this?"

That might be the proper "control" question/method we all need for verification.

I listen to art shows every night while driving at work. The facebook page, as Scully mentioned, sure has Art's linguistic and conversational style mimicked very closely. Sometimes I feel it is genuine, sometimes I do not. For example I don't understand why he would wish to follow C2C fan pages full of Noory sycophants. I honestly do not know if it is genuine or not, but I am sure we will have our answer shortly.


And FWIW there need not be any financial reason to impersonate Art, there are plenty of nutjobs that would do it for the giggle factor alone.

Remember the writers here who have been reporting stations airing another program for a couple of minutes at the start of Coast, then switching to Coast. This plan is extensive, pervasive, and dangerous to the unawares! This could swing into place without warning, Art and the AB's could fly to Pahrump on a moment's notice!

I don't buy that at all. I work in radio, and no radio station would test a feed on the air.. even in the middle of the night. There are ways to test feeds and automation off the air.

That's how I got to the page. If I just search for Arthur Bell or Art Bell or whatever, it doesn't show up =, probably the way he has the security set.

OK. So I friended this Arthur Bell on Facebook so I can read the post.  I'm still not buying it.
Any pictures he posted can be found on the net, his post have been links to some typical things he would like, like technical things.  Any answer he gave to a question was one any of us could have come up with.

I feel this is skirting the issue. I'm sure he wouldn't want to ask George for a plug, but It woould be easy for the Real Art Bell to post a pic of himself with a newspaper with today's date or something....
He addresses the George idea above, but ignores the picture idea.  I find it odd that the few pictures he has posted can all be found on the net. It should be easy for him to load pictures off his local computer. And like most people he probably had loads of jpegs. He would probably have to make an effort to search through his picture folders to find ones which have only been public...?!


So I'm not buying it.. Also,  UFO Phil is on his list. I don't know why I find that one so funny.
