I agree with you, I've seen this happen on records I've worked on! Producer having me log on to band forums and dictating to me as engineer and "friend/colleague" what to post on fan-forums! Fucking fan forums! Glad that part of my life is over! What a joke New L.A. FakeCoast has become! Talk about thinly veiled pieces of shit! That's what's going on.

But the other thing I should have mentioned is that there's a defensive tone to his posts as well. You know, "George has a contract through 2013", "George is peaking right now"...in other words, throwing it in the face of his critics as if it will change their minds.

I'd like to say:

A) Why the hell are we wasteing our time debating this Snoory lover? It's not freaking George. It's just a typical unemployed and friendless Snoory supporter who finds joy in us talking about him/her.  And I'm sure he will respond to this saying he makes 800K a year and dates super models.

B) I find it very hard to believe Art Bell would start a Facebook page with a horrible picture of him at his NV house wearing an ugly-ass Oakland Raiders sweatshirt. He lives for bragging about how great Manilia is and every recent pic of him always includes his family. If he had a Facebook page I would imagine his pic would include his family somewhere in Asia.

In addition, he has Artbell.com in which he has total control of creativity. I think he would fire that up before doing Facebook.

Also, when he makes posts it's on the Fantastic Forum. The FF may be older generation internet, but you have to understand Art. Art LOVES to seem mysterious, thus the occasional FF cryptic message that get everyone on this board talking. I doubt he would go from posting once every two months on the FF to posting like a 11 year old girl on Facebook.

Art Bell did not reply to George Knapp on facebook. That is someone playing a little game. Don't think GN, as bad as he is, will be leaving until 2013 - he mentions his contract a lot - maybe he can't believe  that they've signed him up for that long. Of course, I listen to GN for about five minutes, then turn off the radio. Ian and Knapp and just about anybody else I'll listen to - but not GN. So, I guess I won't be joining the "new" thread that's going to be started by another little game player.

People, this is just wonderful.  I always thought GN was lurking here and make no mistake, it is George.  The patterns of almost-ESL sentence construction and non sequiturs would never come from Tim or Lisa.  They are not "radio personalities" and have to be sharp to stay employed.  We pay close attention to GN's speech patterns and we know he is defensive and irritated with us, his critics.  The peevishness displayed by our poser is never seen by fans who stumble on this site.  They are uncomfortable and if they post anything, it's along the lines of "grow up already." 


So why is he posting here?  And why now? 


If I started a Christy Brinkley is Ugly forum, would Christy show up, lurk and post that she was lovely, fresh as the morning dew, etc.  Of course not.  Celebrities ignore their detractors.  Unless the detractors have hit to close to home.  Unless the detractors are not only RIGHT, but that their comments have had an adverse effect and must be nullified.  In other words, if George Noory were doing well, he would be above this kind of thing.  If he were "peaking" his fans wouldn't need to passionately defend him.


Like the Mormons--if they really were normal, they wouldn't need ads proclaiming how normal they are. 


Regarding the pseudo Facebook page.  There is no way in the world a man with the ego and life experiences of Art Bell would step down to communicating with people via Facebook.  I'm Art's age and we all think it's ridiculously juvenile and exposes one to a barrage of unsolicited "friend requests" which one must process.  He has nothing to gain in that and everything to lose in the way of privacy.  I would much more likely believe his wife would start one--she's young, hip and would want to keep her husband's talents alive in people's memories since he is planning something.
