I just tried the free 30day Sirius/XM trial deal with no credit card:
http://www.siriusxm.com/freetrial

Works perfectly, all you enter is a first+last name (could be an alias) plus a zipcode and any valid email address.
You get a trial password sent to the email address and you use the email address as your user name.
Then you can go to the main www.siriusxm.com webpage and click on "Listen Online" in the upper right of the page to
bring up the PC Sirius internet player app in a new window. Worked fine for me with Firefox v23 browser and flash.
I could select channel 104 (Art Bell's channel) and listen to whatever is playing right now and I could also drag a slider to go to
any point in the last few hours or listen to the live stream.
While playing, I could even record it with Total Recorder audio software on my PC.
You can only log in on one PC or device per account at a time. Next I'll try it on a wifi device.

I can hardly believe we're just 3 days away from having our wishes come true.

I love that Art has chosen Dr. Michio Kaku to be his first guest. He's interesting, articulate, and world-famous.  :)
And what better way to debut the show than to have an intelligent discussion about "Dark Matter"?

Hi Morgus...I downloaded the sirius xm app to my kindle fire....success!  However, the channels are not listed, just the categories and then one has to scroll through the choices.  I cannot find Art's channel.  How can I get to channel 104? Thanks very much.  PS:  I have loved your George Noory comments down through the ages!

I'm gonna go with muscle relaxants. Would explain his mush mouth.

I usually have to go with muscle relaxants to put up with his mush mouth.

Why would Art have Jonathon Reed on?

Isn't he the Alien in a Freezer Hoax guy?

The interview better be a 3 hours of chewing his ass up about it.

I really hope he plays the Frozen ET Burrito Blues song.

Thanks for the info, Morgus. I haven't done it yet, and have been hoping it was going to be easy like Sunday morning. I wonder what's to keep people from abusing it and signing up over and over again.

Art Bell coming back is cool but here is a question. How long until he retires again? is it when George is fired from coast? When Hell freezes over? BTW Captain George Noory, Commander John B wells Ensign Tommy, LT Commander Lisa all suck.

He has a 3 year contract. So I would think, without anomolies, we will have 3 years to see if retirement is on the table.

I don't know if the android app used by the kindle fire is different in that respect than on the PC app I use.
On the PC app on the area at the bottom you can click on "CHANNELS" and the list of channel numbers in order from top to bottom appears along with what show is currently on each. There is a scroll bar on the right side to scroll down to the channel you want to find (like 104).
Then you can select the channel and set it as one of your favorites and then you can list your favorite channels by clicking on the "FAVORITES" button next time.
Again I don't know if the android app is different in this respect, somebody who is using an android device like the Kindle Fire or similar tablet or smartphone would have to tell you for that one, I only use the PC app that runs from a regular browser.

I just signed up for the 30 day free trial using Art's website. I'm using a Nexus 7 tablet to listen. It was painless and seems to work the same as the PC version.

Can't wait for Monday and think Kaku makes a great first guest.

Metaphysics & the Matrix
Date:    09-14-13

According to author Sophia Stewart, her epic story, The Third Eye, was plagiarized to create two of Hollywood's biggest franchises, The Matrix and The Terminator. She joins John B. Wells to discuss how she transformed comprehensive metaphysical and spiritual concepts into the most revered science fiction films of the 20th century.

6-10pm PT: Art Bell - Somewhere in Time returns to 8/22/01 when news of the alien-faced Chilbolton Crop Glyph broke.

Heads up everyone. There is a VERY good chance the fourth trailer for Dark Matter will be on Artbell.com TONIGHT.

If it is I will be sure to post the link all over. Be sure to watch all the way to the end. ;)

Hey, I happen to enjoy listening to a smart person having an intelligent discourse with another smart person.  I'm odd like that. ;)
I must be odd too, because that's one of my most favorite things to do.  I love listening to two smart people simply having a conversation, especially if they know "stuff" that I don't know and there's something I can learn from just listening to them.   You know how some people sound like they must be brilliant, but they speak so far above your head you can't understand them?  I always want to say, "If you're so smart, why can't you make yourself understood?"  Art has a talent for helping to make brilliant people accessible to an audience of laypersons.

That's the genius of Art Bell.  He can take someone like, say, Michio Kaku, and ask him to explain himself until someone like me, with no physics background, can understand him.  Art has great instincts for knowing when a guest is losing the audience.  Unlike a certain other nameless late night talk guy who says inane things like "I just 'get' physics" or "I absholutely agree thatsh true" when he doesn't have the first clue what someone like Michio is talking about.  Art has enough self-confidence to say, "You know, you lost me there.  Let's rewind that and bring it back down to earth so I can understand what you're saying."

Hey, with all the bumper music and trailers coming out for Art, who remembers this classic voicemail he played on air many years ago? :)

I'm thinking about buying external speakers for my laptop today.  Are wifi speakers better than plug ins?
I just did that. Since I didn't know what to get and I'm on very tight budget, I decided to start at the "bottom" and see how well they work.
I bought these:
http://www.sears.com/imicro-trade-imicro-153-pc-speaker-sp-imminir/p-00332885000P?prdNo=28&blockNo=28&blockType=G28
I'm using them at this very moment, and they sound pretty good. Much better than I expected, given the price.

Art should not be giving air time to proven hoaxers unless it is to take them to task.

Guys like Ed Dames are a grey area (well not so grey to me). Art should be taking note of his (and all psychics) claims/predictions and take him/them to task if and when they don't come to fruition.

Art gives them 'dings' when they aren't warranted.

He thinks Dames has been right on many of his RVs.  He was astonished when Evelyn told him she 'saw fires in the West' and gave her credit for the annual Southern California fires.

I could do without any predictions type guests or shows ever.

I can't wait for this myself.  Been listening to some older Art interviews with Michio and they're fascinating to me.  There's one where he's asking about gravity, and he's not quite getting Michio's explanation (either was I), and instead of just checking the box and skipping to the next list question in Noorie-esque style, he asks for further explanation...

George knows very little about the world around him, and isn't really interested.

He is dimly aware there are things he doesn't know that listeners think he should, but he can't differentiate those from the things most people wouldn't expect him to be familiar with.

So he pretends to know all of it.  And moves on quickly.

BTW, I'm listening to the 2-21-1997 show.
Great show. Steven Greer for the first hour, then open lines. This is the show during which Art super-glued his lips, AND when he received the first letter from Mel about the hole. It's also when someone had circulated the rumor that Art had died and published his obituary, and Art actually read it on the air. Then Art talked to Mel on the phone for the first time.
All this in just one show!
Fun, fun, fun!
