I've been thinking about getting things like t-shirts, buttons & stickers made up myself..

I'd like to pre-order an XL "Bateman Lives!" t-shirt and a Bateman halloween mask.  I can see it being something similar to this, at least in Dave Noorie's head.  ;)

Michio is a brilliant man and it was very painful to have to listen to him being interviewed by a moron who is clearly not qualified nor educated enough to bring justice to his ideas.  Art's theater is the perfect fit for Mitchio. IMO

It'll be nice to listen to Michio again without listening to the long pauses of intellectual pain after a 3 X 5 question.

Holy crap people, it's the first guest.
He said the first two weeks were going to be old guests. Relax, there are going to be plenty of new guests etc.
listen to c2c if you don't want to hear Art tell his side of the story about premiere and talk with one of the smartest men on the planet.

Besides its ONE NIGHT.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to hearing Art tell the story behind all his "so-called retirements" (quoted phrase is Art's).  And I will listen to Art interview Michio just coz it WILL be Art live on the air again.  After 3 years, and after I had just about given up hope of ever hearing him live on the air again, and especially for FOUR nights a week!

I don't know about your internet phone carrier, but listening to Art on an Iphone eats up big time on your data charges.

Verizon is terrible in this respect. I had to pay extra for more data time and I still eat it up in a month.

I'm stuck with them for another year and a half but ... I went to TMobile and ATT & they charge the same rates as Verizon does for an Iphone. Its price fixing in the worst way and if we had a government that works properly they'd nail the sobs for price fixing and being anti competitive, something we've been told for years that competition supposedly causes prices to be lowered which isn't happening in the field of using an Iphone which really makes me furious.

T-Mobile unlimited text, talk, data $79.00/month.

Hard to beat. I just signed up for 30 day FREE xm/sirius trial. We shall see.

How many times can you sit through another lecture on String Theory? And Art asking f it`s possible to time travel? Sheesh. I mean, come on!

This would be a PERFECT time to open with a creepy, controversial area 51 show, or UFO show with some of the truly solid investigators.

You might consider getting a Kindle Fire HD.  It has a free app for listening to Sirius, and from what I've heard works just fine (me, I'm going to set it up tonight I think and start my 30 day free trial).  It has built in dual Dolby speakers, so has pretty good sound if you're not super picky about audio (I am, so I bought an external speaker for it for $25 that has boosted the bass response).  No "data charges" and you can pick up a Kindle now, refurbished, for around $115 on eBay.

I have a Tracfone.  $10 a month is my bill, usually, unless I use up the 30 minutes of call-time that $10 gives me (which I don't usually; I have a landline phone and work phone I use more usually for long convos).  For "data" I use my Kindle, which works everywhere there's Wifi and there are plenty of places with Wifi around where I live.  Heck, even the local frozen yogurt place has Wifi.

I'm thinking about buying external speakers for my laptop today.  Are wifi speakers better than plug ins?

I've been listening to Sirius via the Kindle Fire HD app for about a week now.  So far, so good.  I haven't experienced any issues.

I've never used a Wifi speaker, although I really like the idea of them (they are considerably more expensive).  I bought this little $20 speaker (about $25 with shipping) from Amazon and have been hugely happy with it.  Fits in the palm of my hand and significantly boosts bass response (I'd say more than 50%).  Also, can fill the room with sound in a much more adequate way than just the tiny built in speakers on my Kindle, regardless of that they are "Dolby."

That's good to know.  I think I'm going to sign up for it either tonight or tomorrow morning.  I just hope that once my free trial is over, that deal for six months for $46 is still available:  that's a great price.

Amazon's top selling computer speakers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/electronics/172471/ref=sr_bs_1

Plug-in speakers are pretty much always going to give you better sound quality than wireless, but considering it's a talk format, likely encoded at a rate under 100kbps, I guess it wouldn't make too much difference.

I use the Big Jambox

It's amazing, wireless, wired, rechargeable, etc.

I use it for proofing short film audio and the art bell trailers ive been doing. The quality is perfect. It's pricey but you won't need a new speaker system for a long time.

And when wired and plugged into power it can fill a whole house with booming sound, (2000 Sqft)

And despite that fact that it's "just one speaker," and not two (in order to get that "stereo" effect), I find if you position the speaker in just the right spot that the sound from it fills the room in a manner that it seems like two speakers anyhow.  My only complaint with it is that the USB chord that comes with it (for connecting to my Kindle) is rather short, and the 5 hour playing time you get from it after charging is a bit short, but then I've just made it a habit to set it to charge every night right before I go to bed.  I usually only listen to stuff through it about 4-5 hours a day anyhow, and that's going to be the length of Art's show, so it will work out alright.

Ahh, I'd seen that before, but never tried it. If I were to go for wireless speakers, I'd probably do a Sonos setup.

Listening to Art interview Premiere's CEO Kraig Kitchin in 2000 after he announced his retirement. They really loved doing business with each other... Crazy how things changed.

Hey, I happen to enjoy listening to a smart person having an intelligent discourse with another smart person.  I'm odd like that. ;)

My old calculus professor was a  retired NASA engineer (a rather sharp chap), but he put me to sleep in the classroom.

I crave ENTERTAINMENT! Not intellectual stimulation. Hopefully, Art will reanimate his former inner carnival barker instincts and give the people what they want!

i have the t-mobile unlimited data (5gb 4g / month) unlimited texting, and 100 minutes for $30, prepaid, no contract. bought a nexus 4 for $300 and am saving fistloads of money a month.

what's the over/under on how many times Kaku says "Alice through the looking glass"?

I couldn't resist, I got my 30-Day Sirius Free Trial today......have to have it just in case Art
does the Sunday night test run.  Listening to Austin Powers clips from whatever comedy
show is on Indie 104 right now, pretty lame, but that's not why I got it after all.  And I
already got a rental car for business Monday, and plan on being on the road when the
first show comes on, to create the "perfect" moment in time, on the highway.  I'll skip the
former obligatory beer, and will stick with coffee for my beverage of choice.

I am ok with Michio. I don't listen to c2c anymore so I havent heard him in years.

You are privileged indeed to be able to afford such a large monthly charge. My hat is off to you.

I will, however, be seeking the poor man's option here. Spare money is hard for me to lay my hands on these days.

I can't wait for this myself.  Been listening to some older Art interviews with Michio and they're fascinating to me.  There's one where he's asking about gravity, and he's not quite getting Michio's explanation (either was I), and instead of just checking the box and skipping to the next list question in Noorie-esque style, he asks for further explanation, and Michio comes up with a great metaphor that really explained it well.  I was like - Thanks, Art, I needed some help on that one too, thanks for following through on it, now I actually get gravity.   :)
