Art discussing Oates and Stephens

http://youtu.be/0TBKrcs3Ld8

There it is for everyone. As this controversy grows I'm getting so many messages about it might as well just post it for everyone on the board.

The meat of it is about an hour in.

Hopefully there's some sort of Comedy Clause.

If not, there should be.  ;D

Just cancelled my streamlink subscription. Don't know why I haven't done it before. The only time I ever listen to the show is when Knapp is on. Can't stand to listen to the abomination that the 'Stache has turned C2C into when he hosts. This last little petty move by Dave finally got me off my duff to cancel it. Can't wait for the 16th. Downloaded the Sirius App and just waiting to get a little closer to showtime before I activate it.

If anyone has a streamlink in the name of art cancel it NOW!

Man this is getting weird. Jonathan Reed commented on Arts status with a sorta weird rambling thing. And a bellgabber posts right by him haha

6-10pm PT: Art Bell: Somewhere in Time returns to 7/1/02 when author Ramon Lopez spoke about the emerging science of space weather
.

Pretty brief description of the show. Premier is pissed at Art. How great is that?
I am listening to SIT and Dr. Ramon Lopez is very credible and, of course, it is an intelligent interview with Art asking the questions. One thing I noticed, is Art will make a comment and the Dr. will reply "that's right."
If it was Mr. Cue card, he is always the one saying over and over again, "that's right." As if he knows what is right or not.
Please.
I do not want to be angry, but after the Oates stunt this week, I am really angry. Thank heavens Art is back in days.

ledzep69r

Art just posted a comment underneath his last post -

I will say this, I am a old guy trying to get ready for doing a show and have a lot of things I need to deal with rather than this mess. I have not said a word about Oates till George put him on Thursday, I think he was just trying to throw me off. I will try not to let that happen. Thank you all for being friends

IcicleTrepan

I hope for his sake he can ignore it.  As many of you feel, I too feel like Art is an old friend.  And I get angry when people try to screw my friends around.

Damn! You just beat me to posting it!! This is all gong to make for some great radio! Can't wait for the first show!

Ya think? Personally, I think most people just want to listen to a good radio show based on good  subject matter, you know; ''Dark Matter''. I don't think most people outside of this forum could give a warm piss in the wind about any of this drama nonsense.

You're wrong. Read the C2C and Art Bell Facebook pages for proof.
I like many people want Art to tell his side, then clear the air  and move on and do great radio.

On Art's facebook page someone asked him:

Hi, Art.

Hallowe'en is coming ...! Are you going to do anything like your (still unmatched) "Ghost to Ghost" show?

Go read the C2C facebook page. I'm surprised they're letting those posts stay up. People on this forum seem to be having fun with it, while if you start reading the fb comments you'll see a  lot of angry people.

I just finished catching up. I must say Wow! oh wow.

I hope Art's new show becomes so successful that no one will even remember C2C.

I propose we start an email campaign to let everyone know that is coming back. Email your friends, family, newspapers, radio stations, and anyone else you can think of. We need to get the whole world interested and wanting to hear Art.

Let's get the buzz going!  Let's make Art's show the thing to listen to and talk about.

I think you've got all of Art's posts here now.

BTW, I've been wondering if anyone else remembers how, when all this nastiness was going on with Oates and the lawsuit, Keith used to post all the legal filings on Art's website?   I think Art even posted Oates's countersuit on the website.  I remember that was the substance of Oates's countersuit (dismissed by the court), that Art was embarrassing him and he wanted damages for that.  LOL.

I remember another fact about Oates during those days.  He used to hook up with women in chat rooms for sex talks.  He actually sent one of them a picture of himself buck naked, and she ended up posting his naked picture on her own website.   Then Art and Keith linked her website on Art's website.  That was also in Oates's countersuit.  What an ass he was!  Even Anthony Weiner knew he couldn't sue media outlets for publishing the weiner photos he himself had sent over the internet.

It really could be.  One night in 1999 Art quoted H.L. Mencken on the air:  "Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats."   Then Art hoisted a skull and bones flag in his own backyard, and went after Oates and Stephens in the court system.

I don't think Dave Noorie really knows who he's messing with.

lonevoice

Art's still awake and answering posts on facebook.

Art, besides telling time, what does that big red clock do? It looks neat. I kinda want one.

The big red clock just does its job by staying connected to a atomic server.

Fort Rock would be so disappointed to learn that the clock wasn't giving him secret coded messages.  :)

I was driving on the 40 through Arizona the other day and was surprised to see an exit 'Fort Rock Road.'

Do they not realize literally Art went to trial - testimony and everything - in his defamation suit against the internet-radio-station loon who spread repulsive and grossly false rumors about him? And won? The point is, when Art Bell feels you've treated him unjustly, he spares no expense, and does not rest until he wins. This could be a bloodbath.

I've been ambivalent about paying for Sirius radio, because I disagreed with the decision to go that way, thinking it was too elitist and exclusionary. But now I may have to join merely as a way to "vote with my feet", because it's looking like Art will try to destroy C2C and George Noory.

Which brings up another subject. I think all the people here who were pushing for an amnesty for Noory (don't make me name you) owe an apology to Art Bell. I don't understand how in the world anyone could fall for the obvious PremRad psychological op of the "gnoory" posts as a way to paint George Noory as some kind of mature, warm, apologetic, generous and kind man. It just mystifies me.

Want proof? The Oates show itself. How could the person(s) holding himself out as the super nice guy of the "gnoory" posts possibly be the same person as the host of C2C who had Oates as a guest? The posts of "gnoory", and the decision to give the vile Oates a microphone on C2C, are absolutely mutually exclusive.

My argument was two parts. First, that the whole "gnoory" posting episode was a propaganda move meant to cool animosity of people here toward Noory. Second, that "gnoory" was a concocted personality made of several PremRad and/or C2C employees. Sure "gnoory" posts were made with George Noory's knowledge and approval (which makes it all the worse), because Noory had to know and be in on it to "prove" his "gnoory" identity by shout-outs, etc.

I think circumstances have now shown conclusively at a minimum that the "gnoory" posts were a PremRad propaganda effort, regardless of who "gnoory" was. Does anyone really dispute this now? Because if you do, I want you to defend your position. Let's hear it.

That's ok, I'll pass.  Frankly, I'm not particularly impressed with ANY of the parties, even tangentially, involved in this whole sordid  affair.

I have to say, there are few things I find more annoying than wealthy, successful showbiz people, complaining about how  terrible they were treated by showbiz. It's childish  demeaning, and insulting to any true aficionado of good, entertaining, paranormal-format radio.

I erroneously presumed that it was Premier that forced Snorty to have Oates on and not Snorty. Boy was I wrong. Go get em Art!

Snorty is a poor excuse for a human being. What a fucking hack.

I posted for private reasons. My problems and questions weren't the same as the other forum members'. I had three personal, specific inquiries. Only two were somewhat addressed. They all went to character in various ways. Speaking of which, Noory learned a life lesson when he put revenge before judgment and wisdom. Even worse, his vengeance was planned, not a left hook in a bar fight. That made it worse. He should have listened to the mysterious inside person. It would have saved him a lot of woe. This stunt removed all doubts about the inauthenticity of his nice-guy routine. That routine also was scripted by the likes of Ted Bundy and Wayne Williams, so a questionable person definitely could sound like he cared about advice from naive, yet well-intentioned, people. Bad guys always could impersonate good guys. Your initial suspicions might have been right, but it's possible that we were visited by Jekyll-Hyde, not a collection of corporate employees. That said, you and I both thought that there were ulterior motives behind the scenes. That should have been apparent to all.

onan

Couple things, if someone publicly accused me of pedophilia, I would be accused of murder the next day.

I am not certain noory has the capability to understand the consequences of his decisions. Not that removes culpability, but I am not sure he is bright enough to manipulate anything. It could be, he chose to put Oates (does that rhyme with goatsey?) on for the very real fact noory doesn't research anything. Also noory is more than childish in his conversational style... that may also be his thought process. Either way it was stupid.

Oates on the other hand is demonstrably vile and malicious in his intent.

All that being said, noory's choice may have (hopefully) sunk the ship.

I don't know if you consider me among the people "pushing for amnesty" but I did say at the time Snoory started posting here that we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Since that was before he had Oates back on C2C, I don't think I owe Art or anyone else an apology. I'm not a time traveler who can see the future.

That having been said, my eyes are wide-open now and I see Snoory as just another stupid, petty, little man.
