I can't wait for this myself.  Been listening to some older Art interviews with Michio and they're fascinating to me.  There's one where he's asking about gravity, and he's not quite getting Michio's explanation (either was I), and instead of just checking the box and skipping to the next list question in Noorie-esque style, he asks for further explanation, and Michio comes up with a great metaphor that really explained it well.  I was like - Thanks, Art, I needed some help on that one too, thanks for following through on it, now I actually get gravity.   :)

Exactly.  Art, of course, is very sharp and knows how to keep "core drilling" until he strikes gold.

I'm just so glad Art's coming back, I can't get too excited about who his guests are going to be for awhile.  It's not many times you get a second chance at anything in life and Art's presence and his presence alone is more than enough for me.

Was listening to an old Art show from late 90's.  He was going through some news items, and reported that apparently the old standby of using Morse code to transmit S.O.S. had been replaced by a modern-day GPS signal.  As I was hearing this, I was half-thinking to myself "Hmm I wonder who decides these things", and then without missing a beat, Art says "Who decides these things?"

Ha, and then he continues on to say "I'm going to miss it for some reason.  I don't know why, but for some reason I'm going to miss the old S.O.S."  And I was thinking, yeah me too, Why am I nostalgic for this thing I never even think about?  I guess I just loved his curiosity about the story, and then the curiosity about his own reaction to the story, and the way it followed my own curious brain patterns.  Can't wait to get someone with real intellectual curiosity back in the captain's chair.   :D

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes.  Noory will never get that because he doesn't have it to begin with.  Noory's just a corporate hack going through the motions.

Noory always sounds like he's on downers or sleeping medication.  He's comfortably numb.

I have been critical of Kaku's desire to be in front of every camera he sees. But he is always interesting within his subject areas. Besides string theory he is an expert on Einstein. He is a library on the history of nuclear bombs.

Granted his sense of humor is minimal. But I am quite happy he is on. I don't gove two hoots about him being the first guest. But since he is... yahoo, whoopee, oh yeah...

Art is back. pay no attention to the statements I made saying he wouldn't return... I didn't really mean them.

Ok so Kaku mildly annoys me when he mentions his latest book over and over, but I can live with that as I find him a kick to listen to, full of all kinds of intriguing ideas.  And you're right, the interview I heard where he talked about the history of nuclear research was so interesting - I remember him describing the meaning of the phrase "tickling the dragon's tail" which sent shivers through me.

Keep in mind Art has been away from the Mic for 5+ years now.
It's hard to go from sitting on the couch to interviewing a guy about being beamed aboard the mothership.
I think Art chose Kaku because he is not really a "fringe" guest, and it will allow Art to ease back into doing a radio show. IF you dont like Kaku, chill out give Art some time before he starts interviewing someone about the Big Foot they ran over in Texas.
Also I counted 5 differesnt posters who had KaKu in their "dream" lineup of guest for the first week. So obviously the demand from Bell's fans is there.

Can't wait for Monday!!!

Long live hot air!

9/16 - Mon - Michio Kaku
9/17 - Tue - Stephen Greer

That's a solid first week of guests to intro new listeners to Art's style and show.

Sure we've all heard these guests a lot but it will be fun to hear him revisit and discover new things with each one.

I only wish Friday was open lines! haha

Ok. Hooked up with SiriusXM. Amazed by it. The cat theme is perfect for tonight's show. Vegas buddies have been posting Art's articles.  Everyone...the entertainment and arts communities.

If you guys want to add Dark Matter as a favorite show and an Alert for the show you can do it now by clicking on Indie Channel then click the now playing tab. After you have clicked the now playing tab click on "more from this channel" link in the info box. Then scroll down and click the heart next to Art's show and then click the box on the far right and click add alert.

Why would Art have Jonathon Reed on?

Isn't he the Alien in a Freezer Hoax guy?

The interview better be a 3 hours of chewing his ass up about it.

Does it work that same way regardless of what device you're using?  I'll be using my Kindle.  Thanks.

I surprisingly have never heard this guest before, I know a lot of people aren't happy about it, but I figure it will be entertaining, I dont plan on believing a word he says but i think it will be a fun listen.

This week's SIT in another lost "new" classic epsiode:

Art Bell - Somewhere in Time returns to 8/22/01 when news of the alien-faced Chilbolton Crop Glyph broke.

Anyone remember this famous crop circle: http://www.enterprisemission.com/glyph.htm

I remember listening to this episode and the subsequent shows about it. Art's show was great when you could go onto the web and see the images that were being referenced on the show.

I believe Art was the first to use the web and radio in this way.

Art should not be giving air time to proven hoaxers unless it is to take them to task.

Guys like Ed Dames are a grey area (well not so grey to me). Art should be taking note of his (and all psychics) claims/predictions and take him/them to task if and when they don't come to fruition.

Probably not the same but the tips for mobile above is probably the same.
