What you're sensing is imminent butt hurt.  Inbound directly. I hope MV and his family are ensconced in a rebar concrete bunker with a weeks supply of Chef Boyardee.

Agreed.  You've got an enviable spidey sense there, b_dubb.

I think folks like seeing the actual screen-print from Art's FB page ...so here it is

I don't understand the relevance to this video.  It's a work of fiction...  Does Art think it's funny?  Does he think we should take this seriously?

Personally, I thought it was kind of stupid.

100% agree with him on releasing the grand jury stuff at night.  How foolish could they be?   I mean, maybe they should have released it at 2am, after everyone's gone to bed, so that by morning it's old(er) news...

I enjoy seeing it and I don't like signing into my FB account.

Thanks Ms. C.

I think it's awesome that somebody high up enough to name features on Mars has enough respect for Art to give him a nod...

Ms. C

There's just gotta be something cryptic about that message. Did he just quit again? :P ;)

Exactly right. Hopefully this will encourage Art to come back to radio here in a few months. Hell, they should have named the discovery on Mars, the "Kingdom Of Nye".

Is it 19.5* from Cydonia?

Damn right it is.  What did you do?  Look at the data?   ;)

Anyone have copies of Art's Sirius XM shows?

Oddly the other night Norry actually mentioned CCrane (Bob Crane's company.) I forget if it was an outright commercial, a slip, or who knows. But a good company I still got a few radios bought that work great.

They did have some good stuff over the years, but that LED flashlight was absolute shit.

Gotta say I'm pretty happy with my little Solar Observer, with the solar panel.  I use it all the time and even gave a couple as gifts.  Unfortunately there's no Noory squelch function.

I wonder how good their shortwave radios are.  I used to have a 300 dollar Saengean that covered all shortwave bands and SSB and it was fun.  The freaking antenna on it was like five feet long.  Crane sells some Saengean products, right?

I got a couple of radios from CCrane way back and still use them.
Here is the CCrane web site: [url=https://www.ccrane.com/]https://www.ccrane.com/

All their products are just renamed Chinese stuff.  Do a search on ebay and you'll find pretty much everything he sells for less than half the price.

Probably so.

I see the SW radios Crane has and they aren't serious SW radios, no SSB, so you'd be missing out on a lot.  Thing is good gear is harder to find, even Fry's Electronics, which has stores in some Western States (man I sure wish they'd come to the NE USA). Only offers a few things, seems SW just doesn't have the following it used to have.  That is worrisome, because if there was a catastrophe in the Clark Belt and satellites all ended up trashed, we'd need radio users to communicate with except where the already over burdoned fiber optics cables are run (more of them need to be laid across the seas.  Some countries have horrible bandwidth.

I haven't ordered from them in a while. But when I did I was happy. (Got something Pogo(?) many years ago that was like before iPod got better. Could record AM/FM onto an SD and even program times to record, xfer to computer, etc.) It finally crapped out but had hard, daily use. And a Grundig radio with Gyro AM/FM/SW that still gets much use in my bathroom. And a large table-top size Grundig that had SSB but never played with that much.

I'm sure CCrane isn't a place for the HAMs, pros, and guys who are really into stuff but for the casual listener, not broadcaster, I was happy (though I'm sure now one could buy direct from China or internet etc.)
