i seem to recall a few years back Hoagland and Heiser did a series of convention events together on the subject of "Gods & ETs" or something similar.  8)

Yes, in fact I'll be listening to it shortly as I continue to do "research" for my Jan. 1 podcast episode on the Face on Mars.

Noory's Christmas Eve special airs tonight with special guest Santa Claus live.

Dumbest idea ever.

Noory should take a studio webcam pic of him dressed up as Santa with little Tommy sitting on his lap...  ;D

Noory thinks millions of disfigured kids will curl around their old timey radios and listen to him fart out incoherent questions to Santa. Instead of milk and cookies this year, leave out some Carnivora for Santa.

I'd rather hear an interview with Krampus.

Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish bad children during the Yule season, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards nice ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair.

George 'interviewing' Santa Claus

Quote from: coaster on December 24, 2012, 12:46:33 PM
Dumbest idea ever.

Ian interviewing Jesus Christ.

Ian interviewing the horse trapped in a man's body.  Twice.

Ian and his zombies show.

Knapp interviewing a lady for the full show - and taking her seriously - that claimed to be a sex slave held by the CIA and forced to have sex with every promenent Republican from Herbert Hoover to George Bush (although somehow Oliver North and Dan Quayle apparently missed their chance).
   - This is the one that gets my vote for dumbest

Knapp and his shows with the Raelians over the years.

These are just the ones off the top of my head.  There are plenty more from George Knapp and Ian Punnett that are only slightly less dumb that Santa Claus.  I've left off anything from Wells, since I've never heard any of his.

I'll admit that one was pretty damn dumb. But for some reason, it appealed to the listeners because it had a nutjob vibe to it. George does not know his audience. What person over the age of seven would honestly believe hes talking to Santa? And even if its just a "fun" show for Christmas, how many children are going to tune in to a late night talk show? If George wanted to have an interesting show, he should talk about the history of Christmas and the different characters/traditions  involved. Noory is the only one whos going to enjoy this Santa nonsense. I'll bet sometime during the show he will actually tell Santa what he wants for Christmas.

Shockwave

Noory is officially a parody of himself.

Oh I agree.  Was just doing a little ranking of truly lousy shows I've heard some or most of.  Not only does George not know his audience, George doesn't give a hoot about his audience.  I'd even venture a guess that he knows a large portion of his audience is comprised of 'haters' in it for the laughs.
Hope is not lost though - maybe he'll sing to Santa just to make it The Official Worst Show.  Perhaps a breathless Marilyn Monroe style rendition of  'Merry Christmas, Santa'.

Open lines tonight after the Santa interview.

I think someone from this board (not me!) should call in and claim to be a talking reindeer...or an elf who was abducted by ETs...or a doll-turned-real-boy/girl after being possessed by Satan...or a Christmas angel sent to deliver a prophetic message to Snorge re 2013...or baby Jesus who accidentally time traveled through a portal and needs Snorge's help to return home...or an evil pizza roll who wants to apologize for one of his peers trying to kill Snorge...or...

OMG  Don't know if that would be hysterically funny or the most frightening, creepy thing Snorge has ever done...so far.

Me, too. She also related being raped by Hillary Clinton. Knapp and the woman's handlers should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the her mental illness.

ACE of CLUBS

Snoorge interviewing Santa on Christmas eve ........ sure to give the kids a WTF moment.
What a fuckin' cretin !

Perhaps Santa is an angel. There are no coincidences..

There's probably another thread for this, or should be, so just one more:

Hours after Michael Jackson died, Deacon Punnett had some phony charlatan 'channeling' MJ.  Ian was really enjoying that one.

For me, Ian usually sucks just as much as George Noory, just differently.  I've never wanted to punch George Knapp through the radio, but he only gets one show a month and wastes it on mostly very questonable guests.

Now that I've been thinking about it, one of the dumbest shows I've ever heard actually came from Art Bell. He was talking to some schmuck who built a trinket out of links from a bike chain. Then he had a crowd show up near a pay phone or something. I remember sitting there dumbfounded because I could not figure out why anyone would find it interesting. I still don't get it. What was so special about a bike chain? I'd actually listen to Noory's Santa show before listening to that mind-numbingly dull show again.

I think that 'schmuck' who later returned as a c2c guest several times was known as "Mr Fidget" ?

Yeah, that was him. They had him on several more times? They must of really been hurting for guests.

Predicted interactions between Snoory and Santa:
Santa, do you remember the Twilight Zone episode where they had Art Carney playing yewwww?
Santa, what do you have for all of those haters out there who put me down all the time?
What great gifts you have for me: a Pat Boone CD and an autographed picture of Billy Mumy!
Santa, Tommy has been a bad boy.  Don't give him anything. Har Har
Well Santa, what is up next for yewwww?

coaster

"Hey Santa, can I have a puppy so I can get tired of it and pawn it off on someone? ruff ruff"
"Hey Santa, how do you get into houses with no chimneys? Do you use a portal?"

First George didn't have the talent or curiosity skills to conduct a full interview for four hours so he started his "split" shows. Then he had some BS, childish concept of putting "secret surprise" guest behind imaginary doors. Then he started adding hooks and more ads destroying the rhythm of the conversation.  Now a Santa interview.  WTF! .... GEORGE YOU JUST HAVE TO TALK WITH PEOPLE  and be curios and interested, is it really that hard?  Read a book or listen to downloads of Studs Terkel, he could interview a parking attendant and it would be captivating. I don't hate George Noory,  I just love good interviews and I hate that George Noory has destroyed one of the best interview platforms in the U.S. media. My radio, once again will be off tonight.

In the news section, George relates the tale of talking with his "second daughter" Christy, who calls him "George."  She drops the bomb of news that Larry King has died, but in his wisdom he corrects her, uncovering the fact that it's actually playwright Larry L. King so all is well.

I thought that was weird/funny.

Immy

"Santa" sounds like a 35-year-old stock broker.  ???

Immy

New flash!!

Jorch sayz Santa is "one of a kind". Ya think?  ;D

SnapT

He can't even keep his lame play-acting straight.  Is he talking to Santa or Sal?!  This is maddening!

Santa: What would you like for Christmas, Snorge?

Snorge: Umm....talent?

Santa: Sorry, Snorgie, Santa can only bring presents; I can't work miracles.

Good point.  ;)

He should've chosen to talk to either "Santa" or Sal about being Santa. Way to destroy the illusion Jorch.  :-\

coaster

Wait..hes talking to someone about their job as a mall Santa? Brilliant, George.
