I've been opining here about Noory for the last 2.5 years.  I think it's time for me to let it go.  George got me thinking when he said on the gabcast that he's a different kind of broadcaster, and he's doing a different kind of show.  I think I've been too attached to the c2c of old, and it's time to realize that's gone, and move on.

Obviously I hope Art's new show will bring back some of the magic, but in any case, the modern-day c2c really is something else, it's really aimed at a different kind of audience, many of whom seem to still like it.  I've decided to try and just accept that.

So I'm gonna cut way back on my activity on this thread.  I may check in from time to time, to comment on various guests or whatever, but I'm gonna try to resist going on diatribes about George or the show.  Put another way, gonna try to be more pro-Art, and less anti-Noory.  However, George Noory haikus are exempt from this plan - I mean I have to have some outlet, right? 

So here's your early b-day present George, one less jedi squirrel giving you a hard time.  Catch the rest of you guys on some other threads.

Ha my nuts are right where I always keep 'em.  Look I've made post after post, hoping someone would take notice, that things would improve, that somehow my old show would come back.  Nothing changes, it is what it is.  Nah, I'm done shouting at the wind for awhile.  But this thread continues to provide great humorous moments which I'm sure I'll keep watching for.

My favorite moment from Gabcast last night happened right after MV brought up the libel stuff, here's the exchange that occured beginning around the 1:48:00 mark.  I found it to be so bizarre that I wanted to put it down in transcript form if only to marvel at it, I heard it several times while doing this and it got funnier each time:

Dave: Well first of all, you know personally how I feel about you because I've told you in several personal messages.  I think you're great, I think you're a genius!

MV: Oh, stop it sir!

Dave: I mean anybody who has put together what you've done with what was once Coastgab and now Bellgab, you know, you've done a great job.  Now, let's keep in mind I was an original Coastgab member, joined must later than most people and so I,...I hung around.  I guess you can say that...uh, my timing is strangely acute and intuitive maybe, that whenever Art's doing his thing I seem to crop up a little bit more.  Maybe that's personal public relations, i don't know what it is.

I never believed that could possibly be the big announcement.  Slap your name on a dating site template and it deserves a month build-up?  I mean, I know a number of people here have suggested George should offer a dating service but they weren't serious.

Many of us take much longer than you to get to the same place.  I bet I posted hundreds of times on this thread between this account and WOTR, ***Just checked, and I have posted 750 times in the Noory section (that really hurts to even think about...) All with absolutely no discernible results.

I pretty much left this thread after Art came back to radio.  Somehow, I made my peace with the boiling pit of sewage known as Coast, accepted that save one night a week it is likely to suck, and rarely stop around here.  I think that this thread is a part of the mourning process and quite healthy.  Everybody mourns at their own pace, but eventually almost everybody moves on from the anger / bargaining / disbelief stage to acceptance.

I look forward to seeing more of you on the rest of the forum.  And this thread will still be here as a pressure release any time that you forget to turn off your radio, get your senses assaulted and feel the need to post...
