Unfortunately, this interview would be conducted a lot better by a mummy.

bill mumy ?

Long story short, I fell asleep last night with my ear buds in listening to Dave Schrader and woke up around 3am to Noory telling some guy that he wants to do his show from the pyramids of Egypt. Then as the guest was about to say something really interesting about how the pyramids and tourism was treated by a past regime in Egypt, Noory cut him off and went to the commercial.
I fell back to sleep. And I swear dreamed about Noory's face on the Sphinx. I cannot get that out of my mind.

Beyond Bleef

George asked the psychiatrist last night how to deal with negative people.  Debbie Downers.   "You just want to run away," said George.

Imagine that.  George asking what to do about Debbie Downers.  George, the man who loves to remind us every night that total economic collapse is just weeks away.  That the grid will go down at any minute, killing two-thirds of Americans within one year, that it's only a matter of time until a comet or asteroid slams into the earth killing us all.

George is the ultimate Debbie Downer.

Worse was Breggin talking about Anxiety, and how patterns of anxiety are laid down very early in childhood. Joorch responded (slightly paraphrased)

"We all have these anxieties, don't we? You know, I do my events up and down the country, and the people come out, and I'm up there on stage. I tell them a joke. Will they laugh? I sing a song. Will they applaud? Thank God they do, but that anxiety is always there."

The essence of bathos. Marinaded in arrogance. Served up on a bed of narcissism.

A shame that Noory allowed Bauval to string out what was essentially an academic squabble for the best part of two hours, but it allowed him to indulge in another round of Zawee Hawass bashing. Not that it wasn't an interesting or important story, but it could have been told in less than half the time.
It meant that the really interesting stuff - the graffiti in the 'relief chambers', including the numerical graffiti; the chance to age same; the apparent presence of aluminum in the red ochre in these chambers; the mounting evidence for the extreme age of the Sphinx; the possible presence of a chamber underneath it; possible links to the people who built Gobeki Tepli (sp?) - got rushed through at the end almost as footnotes.
Great moment, too, when one of the Germans in the middle of the row between Bauval and Hawass called Bauval on Skype while he was on air. Completely fluffed by Noory of course. I think he only had time for one call, and that was that.
Of course, he did manage to get in his all-important question - Did aliens build the pyramids? - which always induces expat-style radio-smashing rages in me.

Why did Jorch do a segment on Jim Morrision? Pat Boone is more his speed. Love his questions too. "Was Jim Morrison more of an alcoholic than a drug dealer?" asked Jorch.

Excellent point.

Also, who could forget his empathy for deranged callers who claimed the Sandy Hook massacre of schoolkids and teachers was staged by civil servant actors so as to take everybody's guns away?

Anti-government Debbie Downer was on the loose with his rampaging paranoic buddy, Alex Jones.

And George Noory's manic stoking and stroking of the Ebola plague scare?

Debbie Downer had the hospitals choked-full of imminent dying victims.  We couldn't let any of the sick doctors in because we were all gonna die.

Debbie Downer is always talk-een about how "everybody's on edge."  We're all Howard Beale in the movie, "Network," "mad (read, "insane") as hell," and "we're just not go-een to take it any more."

Who helps that along?  It's the guy who advertises survival food and two emergency financial staples: gold and silver.  The guy whose "special" guest was the nutty professor who claims she can prove the World Trade Center was destroyed by our government using a secret weapon.  That program aired on the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, a fitting tribute to the victims if your home happens to be a mental institution.

And let's not forget his "dear" friend, the human Swiss coo coo clock, Katherine Albrecht who sees Satan in Mickey Mouse and -- along with fellow lunatic Steven Quayle -- the soon-to-happen end of the world so that Jesus can return.

For awhile there, George insinuated that everybody in the country could possibly turn into zombies one day, thanks to one nut who smoked bath salts down in Florida and ate a guy's face off.

To top it off, these aliens on the way might be "bad" aliens, turning his listeners into food just like in the "Twilight Zone" episode he can't shut up about.

And what does he do about it?  He encourages more and more fear.  In this no-wit's world, there can't be enough fright.

So to call George a "psychic vampire" is an insult to honest, hardworking soul-suckers everywhere.

He's George Cassandra -- and infinitely dumber than the television misfit George Costanza.

Neurotic and enough of an idiotic compulsive talker to reveal serious hints of sadism in his personality -- particularly with respect to children -- an America imploding would mean higher ratings for him.

Because he's a fear whore.

And yet the psychiatrist on the show last night -- peddling his new book, of course -- called George "a great therapist."

Doctor, if George is a great therapist, then the Zodiac Killer was a social worker.

I'd bet anything tonight's 'special guest' is Richard C Hoagland.

If that turns out to be true I'm going to need another bedside radio tomorrow.

George just sounds better on a true authentic C Crane Radio!

There is even a special "George" mode you can hit and it enhances his tonal qualities!

P.S.

George Noory loves so many "Debbie Downers" that it's hard to remember them all.

Somehow, I left off my namesake, Ed Dames.

George calls him "Dr. Doom," because the future he "remote views" is so horrific.

George never runs away from Dr. Doom.  In fact, he kisses Doom's ass so hard, and so frequently, that it's a damn miracle George hasn't already suffered an NFL-type head injury.

I was up at their reservation last week, playing in a WSOP event at Harrah's Casino.

And you're right about Jackson.

Oh really, you must not be too far from me.  I'm in Canton, GA in Cherokee County. I've got some Indian blood in me probably from 5 or 6 generations in the past.  We first thought it was Cherokee but more likely Choctaw.  I need to get on ancestry.com and do some research.

tonight's show
1am - 5am ET
10pm - 2am PT
Sasquatch/ Channeling Entities
Thu 12-11
In the first half of the program, professor of Anatomy and Anthropology at Idaho State University, Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum (book link), will discuss the latest efforts in the search for Sasquatch. In the latter half, author and researcher Wynn Free will share insights into channeling entities and souls from other dimensions.

"Now Jeffrey,  I believe in Bigfoot but this Sasquatch character is fake.  I think he's some sort of fictional superhero from some team like the Super Friends.  I used to get up early on Saturday morning to watch that show and the Bugs Bunny/ Road Runner Hour.  It was great.  All my friends thought I was weird so did my kids.  I guess I was around 40 when it finally got cancelled.  I still miss it.  And what was the deal with the Wonder Twins?  Something strange wuz going on there.  My favorite show now is SpongeBob.  I'm sad now though since they stopped showing cartoons on Saturday mornings.  What's the world coming to, Jeffrey?"

When did you get interested in the possibility about that Bigfoot may possibly actually exist or not?

Would a bigfoot be able to beat up a Yeti or would they get along even though one is white and one is dark colored. And the different languages they might speak, would that be an issue you think?

Hoaxland is on next wednesday.

Is there any evidence that Hoagland really acted as science adviser to Walter Cronkite?  I have Googled this guy forever and all I can find is that he is "self-educated" in science.

It turns out to have been somebody else: a J. Walters Crankite -- a distant relative of Barbara Walters.

What was the title of the book you mentioned?

Trail Of Tears by John Ehle.  I bought it at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago.  It was written in the 80's.

What was that guest on The Science(sic) of Reincarnation blathering on about the other night? Voltage this and voltage that? He should have measured Jorch's voltage, but I guess it's a given that Jorch is a dim bulb.
