These pictures look like they're from a People of Walmart convention. Poor George. I don't think he got any steamy convention sex that night. :(
I really do not want to be mean... but have you SEEN George?  with the bad dye job, toupee, cheesy mustache and ungraceful manner in which he is aging it would be very easy to imagine him in a "people of Walmart" picture.  I think there was probably an orgy in the hot tub with Tommy washing all of the participants down.

for the mental image that is now burned into my brain you should look at the pictures, imagine George in a speedo and Tommy in a G-string then picture the participants in equally skimpy clothing...

***I just noticed that in almost every single picture George is wearing the exact bored "I can't believe I am doing this" expression.***

Bullshit, free ride from the media?  What the hell people, this is not the politics forum.  The media includes Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, all of Faux news, more than half the network news people, Alex Jones, George Noory, Dozens of other radio nut jobs, and you say a free pass in the media?  Most corrupt in the history of the USA?  You know to study US history, dude, you are clueless.  It shows in your inability to type properly.  After a sentence a period goes, then TWO spaces.  You put spaces in bizarre places.  Keep on pulling crazy B.S. out of your ass, it shows.

People, unless you want me to invite a bunch of liberals to come here and deluge this forum with stuff that includes facts and data that will upset you, I suggest ceasing the politics right now.  I come here to get away from the Faux news mentality.  Spare us of this crap.

Mind you, I don't like any recent president we've had, but they only do what is possible, the real problem is you people, the voters.  The American people are ignorant oafs that lack enough sense to put good people in office and support policies that could have saved the nation.  For instance, the Waxahachie project got killed, I was going to school so I could work there.  So what happened?  The America voter killed the project.  Don't even know what it was?  Look at CERN, they've got one in Switzerland/France thanks to us.  As long as Americans are too idiotic to support science (I am a former research technologist who is a result of lack of government funding), we'll keep getting zeroes.  Obama tried to reform Wall Street creating an agency and a czar to reform the credit default swap debacle, and what did the republican controlled congress do?  What they do best for a decade now: obstruct anything that could save our country.

So shut the fuck up people and take your politics where it should go, this is GNS and I don't want to hear your diatribes.
No more politics here.Talking to an Obama left-winger is a waste of time anyways . Asshole!

He is fearful of dead air so he fills that air time with random, nonsensical thoughts. In the broadcasting business, what he's doing is known as a 'useless brain fart.' It's one of sNoory's few real talents. But you can't deny that he's one of the best at it.
No doubt.George is the king of nonsensical remarks.

I caught the Clyde ritual-thing last night.  Most of it seemed to be pretty darn close to dead air, which, of course, is always better than Noory.  I was surprised Clyde would allow so much down-time since that's usually a radio no-no.  Poor Clyde seems to be wresting with his  health again, although he told a concerned caller the cancer had not returned.

He had a pretty decent show this week that dealt with Area 51, Operation Paper Clip, UFOs, stealth technology, among other things.  At least the guy is trying but I do lose interest when he goes off on his meme, New Age, ritual-type stuff.  I guess it's the local culture.

I'm still basically holding-out for Art's promised return next year.  It just blows my mind how feeble the current nightly radio shows are by comparison to the C2C days with Art, when the best one can hope for is something just above mind-numbing mediocrity.
A seventy year old Art is not the same as a 50 year old Art.The Sirius show revealed that.It was,to me at least,a little sad to hear Art go on and on after J.C. called. It was like he was trying to recapture the aura of those `90`s shows. It was a different era-the heyday-with Whitley`s "Communion"'subjects like HAARP,crop circles, chemtrails ,"rods",face on Mars were all new.Good subjects like Travis Walton and Gulf Breeze were compelling.Art handled them with such a deftness that no one else could. It made for great radio.A question for those of you who listened back then:How long would have an erudite guy like Malachi Martin put up with Noory`s lazy questions? Coast`s greatness in those days is a testament to Art but that time is over.C`mon, how long would that cheesy alien autopsy video last today? GNS. LLAB

Ok, if I'm an asshole, you're an ass wipe...  Want to get into a name calling war?  NO, neither do I, just spare us the B.S.  And try to learn how to type, your grammar is driving me crazy.  TWO spaces after a period.  No spaces between commas.  No spaces after or before quotation marks.  Please oh please fix this, it's a dog trying to read your posts.  Why can't you see how to do it correctly, everybody else here knows how to?  People take you more seriously when you use reasonable grammar.  I'm not a grammar Nazi, but for Heaven's sake, would it kill you to just try?

I agree with your first assessment.

However two spaces after a period is only used on pica and elite type which are used on or in typewriters. Magazines went to one space after a period in the mid to late 50's. Electronic type has used one space regularily since the very early days... when not capitalizing the first word of a sentence was considered acceptable.

It seems like common sense to "in the overall" to keep politics out of general threads even the SUPRA politic subjects.

I was thinking, guys, what if one of you started a thread that was a journal of Noory's miss-steps?  Some of you have started doing that, listening live and posting as soon as he does something dumb.  It would be cool to have a live line by line following of his goofy statements and errors, after we have enough of them, we could post the list to his bosses and say to them:  "really, people, this is the best you can do on radio?"

I don't listen live, I wake up at 4:30 AM to head to work, so I can't do it, I listen to shows the day after, and fall asleep to them.

Jorch seems to make a lot of goofy's compared to other radio hosts.  Everybody makes mistakes, but it seems to me Noory might be suffering from dementia?  It's those damned innocluations, that's what it is, he's been poisoned!

Yeah, I've been told one space is sufficient.  My first college taught me to do two spaces, and two spaces is a little easier to read, it's a very ingrained habit now.  I just finished a composition/journalism class and the teacher did not ding me for using two spaces.  After summer break I will ask her about that.  I'm not trying to put anyone down, but a person doesn't look too bright if they cannot use at least passable grammar.  Heck, I can't spell too well, but I've got the interwebs to help me, so I look up words for spelling before posting, usually.  Still make mistakes, but at least my posts are legible/understandable for the most part.

I did not know it was for Pica and Elite.  Back in LASER school I was already using my home/dorm built computer, but my English teacher suggested two spaces.  That was back in the early 90's.

Speaking of typing, has anyone seen Jorch's typing grammar/skill?  I am guessing it cannot type very well, and considering he avoids reading his guest's books, it would be no wonder if he typed like an illiterate...

I was always taught two spaces as well.  If you type a message here... and before you post you see a word has a red line under it... it might be spelled wrong.  I try to make my posts comprehend as well.  Makes having a conversation here much easier.

Art sounded fine to me with Dark Matter.   His poking at certain guests, such as Hoagie, was amusing, unlike the brain-dead Noory.  Certainly much better than the current crap posing as C2C.  I'd take Art talking about pet rocks over Noory any night of the week.  Art can conduct an interview, is intelligent, and entertaining.  Noory isn't.

I recall being taught the "two spaces after a period" in typing class.  I wonder when that changed or if it was actually a standard or just my teacher?  I don't think they even teach typing anymore in school so who knows?

Whenever I have a story assignment for a newspaper or magazine, the rule is one space. However, I too remember being taught two spaces in typing class.

Don't forget society is getting fast and lazy. I sent my little brother a text this morning that said, "Happy FD!" Soon we'll only be typing in acronyms, and any spaces at all will be a luxury.

Back on topic, I often have the urge to live-post Jorch and his missteps, but then I start feeling sort of sad and mean. Occasionally we do it here though. I remember a few nights when we've gotten on a live-George roll in this thread. Too lazy to find the page numbers tho. Sry.

Ever since I got a snazzy little recorder that records phone calls, I've been recording my phone interviews with story sources and transcribing them later. Listening back on interviews, I have found to my horror that at times I also sound really lame when the person I'm interviewing starts droning on about something and I lose interest. Fillers like "Wow!" "Oh really?" "That's fascinating!" pop up more than I'd like. I blame Jorch.  :(

Hmmmm, could be a temporary attack of Nooropathy.  I get it when I'm really tired, disinterested, lazy, and stupid.  You know.  Like Noory.

Only George can make interjections like "wow" and "that's fascinating" seem utterly boring and the exact opposite of fascinating.
