yeah me too, I listened while driving for a bit last night to Clyde but he kept playing audio clips of Rachel Maddow of MSNBC...  :P

Whoops!  You jogged my memory, Morgus.  Yes, he was off rambling around about the release of the Sandy Hook 911 calls and Maddow.  I hear enough of that kind of stuff during the day.  Clyde just seems to hop onto whatever subject interests him during the day and he runs with it.  He has to fill 5 hours a night so it can get old pretty fast, anyway.  I just wish he'd stick to a paranormal guest(s) format.  He's usually pretty decent when he has somebody else to keep him focused and grounded, otherwise I feel like I'm listening to somebody in a straight-jacket a lot of the time.

Have you noticed that so many new posters, when finding this website, have said something along the lines of "I wondered if I was the only one that thought George was terrible"?

I was once one of them.

Not exactly 'group think'.  I wonder if George or his handful of supporters have ever taken the time to ask 'why George'?  Of all the well known and semi well known, of all the lousy 'entertainers' out there, of all the 'celebs' that people love to 'hate', or people like KK or Paris Hilton that aren't even actual celebs, or the worst of the dumbshit ballplayers or musicians, how is it the George Noory is the one that has had threads websites like this devoted to his suckage?   Why are those threads the ones with staying power?  Why George Noory?

What do you think is the answer Sci?

I think the answer is the same as a school ground. There's a certain psychology that drives people to require someone to bully. In a school setting, it's the nerd that takes the brunt. It begins with one bully picking on the nerd and others join until the entire class believes the nerd to be a nerd, even if that person had been popular the year before.  In an adult setting, it's a public figure. Some celebrities fill that role, the person you're allowed to hate. Politicians fill it for others. Here it's George Noory. Now we see that this group, slowly but surely, is evolving a distinct anti-Art Bell sentiment. I told you that was going to happen months ago.

If you look carefully, posters in this thread fall into two categories. There are the hecklers; good natured people that take jibes at George for the humor of it. Sort of like the two old men in the Muppets. And then there are the people who go much further and have a deep seated hatred for George and his producer that really can't have a basis in any real world occurrence, it's too disproportionate. It's because those people need someone to hate, and they probably hate other public figures just as vehemently and allow that hate to consume a good portion of their day. You can see it in politics with the disproportionate hatreds directed at politicians like Bush or Obama. Those people feed on each other, like a herd, and baseless things spread like wildfire through the herd. Obama is a Muslim or pretty much anything under the sun can be blamed on Bush, things like that. Likewise the impulse tabloid buyers feed on the concocted misery of their favorite celebrity to hate.

The reason people bother searching the words "George Noory sucks" implies from the outset that they're looking to hate on George. Well, given that it's just a pretty unimportant thing like a radio show, and the disproportionate level of hatred involved, it would suggest that this is all mass psychology and herd behavior more than George sucking any worse than anyone else on radio.

Don't believe me? Take a look at the quit thread in it's entirety. Somewhere in there it became ok to suggest that Art sucks even in his delivery and guest choices. People I used to fight with in here were even doing it, particularly one that has now left us, or so he claims. That wouldn't be due to anything real, Dark Matter was identical to Art's C2C in the good old days, rather it was a shift in the mass psychology of the group. It's becoming "ok" to hate Art now.

Sorry for the pedantic psychobabble, but take a look, it's all sorely visible.

KFI kinda fades in and out here in Colorado, but when I can listen to Tim Conway Jr. I do.  Yes, I do.  Anyway, last night Tim was using a clip of Paglini saying; "Ahuh" over and over again.  He'd pose a silly question then play the clip.  I think this was a prank on gn because gn misrepresented him.  gn ask Evelyn if he could help " a friend" (Tim) get lots of money at the race track.  Tim took exception to that.

At the end of Tim's show he has gn on to give a summary of c2c, which follows Tim's show.  gn was noticeable pissed and did not engage in the light banter he usually does with Tim.  Gn just might be afraid that Evelyn may put a whammy spell on him for Tim's making fun of her.

If Tim's show can be downloaded it would be worth it just to hear the last (about) half hour.  The clip starts somewhere in there.

Dolphin Dude, it's great that you surfaced the ocean waters to type out your thoughtful message, admirable since you are doing it with flippers.  But for me it's not about hate or bullies, it's simply about the desire to hear a thoughtful in depth interview.  With the onslaught of all the commercial brakes on C2C maybe that is no longer possible even without George Noory.  Glad this site has been made avaliable for those of us with the same frustration to compare thoughts.

Schmeigel?

George is shittin' in our mouths and callin' it a sundae.

You know, I'm hearing lots of Russians say Stalin was a murderer. But Stalin let millions of people live. Does a murder let people live? No, a murderer kills people.

Stalin is not a murderer, but you all feel a need to call him a murderer to make yourselves feel better. The other day someone said their son, was shot by Stalin; but it was not Stalin-it was a local police officer.  You see how erroneous all these people are?

I don't fit into either of your categories. I don't hate Noory and I don't find any fun in taking jibes at George for the humor. I post because I think it's important to correct the huge amount of misinformation that C2C spreads. And I only post about subjects I have personal experience with (Mayans, astrology etc.) or places I've actually been to ( the Hopi reservation, butterfly reserve in Mexico, etc.). I listened to Art way back when he was out of Las Vegas. I criticized him then, just as I do now, not because it's suddenly ok to do it now. It's real simple. I hate lies and people who push lies on others. And most of all I hate people who cash in on their lies. I think this thread serves a purpose because it just might guilt Noory into cleaning up his guest pool of some of the worst huxsters. He is changing a little. I have noticed in the past month is in not so quick to cut off a caller with an interesting personal story. He is now letting people actually finish their stories before he cuts them off. He used to cut them off and then pretend he lost the call. This my just be a temporary change, but it is an improvement, no matter how slight.

Sambo

I will admit that my joining in on the Noory suckage is mostly for projecting my own negative energy, and to be among the ranks of similar minded people. To stoke the fire gleefully or dramatically with hopes of someone's demise in mind is quite a strange thing.

Nothing about his appearance is relevant to fair criticism at all. Who cares about his grand daughter, and it's a bit sickening to encourage her negative input. Many of the reactions to his behavior are embellished with exaggerated or fabricated events.

That being said it's been a few years since I've noticed more craptastic show quality than good. I don't like the communications involved in many of his broadcasts as I think they are deeply manipulative to the impressionable listener who has no awareness of communications and it's psychological effects. In short I don't believe his show is much healthy anymore.

Now had I the time and patience I would word for word or moment for moment critique his shows. Which leads me to joining in with the herd instead.

George is George. He's got an ego, he's dippy and maybe a bit naive. Even Ignorant at times. I think he should be doing only one or two shows a week.  The guy probably has a reason to exist, like many of us do.  I hope for his own sake that he experiences the love from being and isn't riddled with blinding self obsessed anxieties.

P.S. Paper Boy, I never knew there was a Noory Sucks region of the internet either. Whether it's right or wrong I wish more people did. I thought I was the only one, lol

I mean ideally you just stop listening right? But we're perfectly lazy with many certain things. As well routinely scheduled live content with callers is a community experience... We are a communal species

All that show prep pays off once again.  ::)  I can just see Tommy placing the call during a break to Farnthorpe, requesting his exhalted appearance for Jorch.  Even Farthorpe, at this point, must have told Tommy "OK, but NO Springheel Jack!!!"

Not that fake, awful "guy beat-down by old ladies" routine again?  Jorch must just yell out to Tommy "jush pick something to play for the final minutes.  I don't care what.  Anything will do for my "beloved listeners."  My turkey samwich awaits, I must be off!"

PremRat truly has no shame by continuing to put this bozo on the air.  :P

As much as I love Fanthorpe's voice, when he started dusting off the same old tired stories I was going to turn off the radio, but then I had to listen just to see if he would tell Springheel Jack for the 1,000.000.000 time. kinda shocked when he didn't. maybe you're right that Fanthorpe put his foot down. When Jorch put on the "guy beat-down by old ladies" routine I did turn off my radio, and oddly enough I was playing the same conversation between Tommy and Jorch in my head, that you so aptly rendered above.

Oh I think a lot of them are BS guests, but eventually one is going to run into a problem in the paranormal. It's mostly made up of people that are making something up. There are gems, of course, but the vast majority of it must be untrue by its very nature. George would end up with the same five people on each week if too much Occam's razor is applied to their shtick.

I don't agree with you. Before the Internet, yes. But now there are thousands of amazing true stories being posted every day. With a little work by the producers (ha ha ha) they could have a new guest every night. One rule that would really improve things would be: no-one selling anything. The key would be to contact potential guests that had no burning desire to be on C2C and only wanted to sure their stories. Art did that a few times, and they were the best shows he ever did. But he also did a lot of shows with Lame Dames spreading propaganda.

I see Dames is on Monday. Will someone try to call in and pin Dames down on the "can't remote view anything in 2013" thing? When I called two years ago, Tommy was a rude son-of-bitch to me, and was not going to let me on the air. Then he suddenly did a 180 and put me on hold. I think that suddenly they had someone hang up and I was the only other caller. That was before I found this thread. Tommy would never let me on now.

This William guy re: obe, already called Noory out on his querying leading up to the existence of Hell, and after all that talk on what conscious being is, commercial break comes up and George tells him that he wants to follow up on whether the guest believes that evil exists.

He really doesn't listen with a lens of genuine curiosity and optimism much.
