We should never underestimate George's disconnect with people, ignorance of normal human interaction, ability to convince himself he knows best - despite his long string of failure - and despite what the listeners and people around him tell him.

It is conceivable the Oates thing started out as simply a really bad idea.  With very suspicious timing.  Then the world's dumbest talk show host refused to listen when someone on his staff laid it out for him, explained it, told him not to do it - and he did it anyway. 

At that point George can no longer claim innocence.  With his refusal to re-examine and apologize - then sending out Twats and posting a bunch of BS here, it gets harder to make a case for mere bad judgment.  Then there's that timing again...

This is probably the quintessential statement of noory's world.

I don't think noory is a "good" guy. But i do believe he is so narcissistic he has no ability to see himself otherwise. Very few people will make dramatically false statements without quite a bit of self delusion. Add to that he is an imbecilic oaf and we have c2c as it is now.

Two terms that describe this whole situation for me.

"Fremdscham (the noun) describes the almost-horror you feel when you notice that somebody is oblivious to how embarrassing they truly are. Fremdscham occurs when someone who should feel embarrassed for themselves simply is not, and you start feeling embarrassment in their place.

If Noory hadn't posted here, Art wouldn't have either, and if there was anyone here that wasn't floored by last night's events unfolding in the thread, then nothing on earth would floor you. If the "Noory get out" people had been successful, we'd have been circle jerking talking about what question George should have asked the Cryptid guy like we have been for the last week. Yeah, that's much better and more interesting to take part in than a heated exchange between Noory and Bell.

You guys just watched one of the foremost internet thread exchanges of the year and if a few of you had your way, you'd have shut it down. Those negativists also seem to be people that don't post here day to day, and only jumped in when Noory was posting. Well, here's the end result of all that: MV's forum, and advertising, has less numbers, this thread becomes just another ho hum thread on the internet, and no one gets any real information about anything.

But the posts still contain information. Doesn't change a thing about the fact that George himself never posted them. He's the most intellectually lazy man I can think of in public life. You're talking apples and oranges. I have no idea who Art was contacted by outside this forum, but I presume he knows. But posts by "GNoory" on this forum are by and large not George Noory.

I missed the part where hosting Oates was a charity move.  If it was then look at the timing.  One of Dave's favorite phrases is that there are no coincidences.  It was a shot across the bow.  Playing Cuzco last night during his classhic crypto segment was a shot.  I believe in coincidences but Dave adamantly does not.  He has said so many times.

This whole situation is public now. It's out there. And I've tried my best to understand your reasoning for having a man who accused Art of being a child molester, back on the show after he was banned.
The timing, the reasoning, the whole thing stinks. Personally, if it was as you put it a "a HUGE misunderstanding" then you and your producers who vet the guests should publicly apologize. It takes a 10 second google search to know the details of the case. Take some responsibility and understand why so many people are upset.

1. You knowingly put Oates on and didn't care how it would make us and Art feel.
2. You didn't do your due diligence and put him on.

Either one of those are damning. Because one makes you out to be vindictive and mean. The other just makes you and your staff completely inept.

George you should post publicly in a clear, legible, and thought out way how we (and art) are wrong about you having Oates on. Do it. Make your case.

Listen, you didn't look into this enough and you made a huge mistake. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you misunderstood Oates involvement with the matter (many people believe Oates was behind the phillipines hate letter about Art, the FBI found that the letter was written on a library computer 20 minutes from Oates house)
However, at this point you need to look at the FACTS and apologize. Many people are upset and if you have Oates on the show again it will only intensify their anger.
