Noory did seem relieved Art was not going on regular radio.

He sounded like he was about to break down sobbing several times.

I'll never understand why George spends his time buffing and plumping his resume, chasing after other gigs that he sucks at - like 'writing' 'books', the DVDs, George Time/George's Insider Club/Talk to George stuff, the various failed TV show ventures, and now these GiamTV YouTube video monstrosities, and thinking up excuses for his lazy approach to the show (redundancies are for 'the new listeners', doing interviews cold - on the fly - are 'more fresh', failure to challenge guests or be skeptical in any way is because the show 'isn't about yelling and screaming', no prep work at all because he 'can't read every book by every guest') - on and on, excuse after excuse.

If instead of all that he would have spent time flipping through a few books, done a little research on guests, prepared a few questions based on that instead of using a stack of the same questions he asks every guest, maybe he could have developed into an ok interviewer over time.  Reading a newspaper once n awhile and taking a few courses at the local community college on subjects like history, geography, intro to science, etc a few day a week couldn't have hurt.  Are there classes on idioms, grammar, word definitions and general use of the language?

Wanting to be good at your job isn't enough.  It takes effort.  For some reason George either cannot understand this, or will not.  And now, even if he were to want to, anything he does is going to be too little too late.

Still don't know where or how to get an avatar, but anyway--------
This is my imagination at work, knowing nothing about radio business.  Could it be that George's unprecidented contract could be like a franchise??  He pays all costs like phone bills, hired callers, staff, etc while taking his orders from Premrat and paying them their cut each month, hoping there is enough left for his own salary!  That could explain why callers can't have a conversation with the guest but are immediately "Gone".  If this is his contract, it's over because George IS NO BUSINESS
MAN!!
Since I'm here, did anyone else hear George tell us that while in the Navy he was assigned to the Pentagon? (a very important job it seemed, in the telling)  This could have been when he was a guest host, because it has never been referenced again, and it might have been an UNTRUTH that he decided not to push.
Wonder if he did it one weekend a month or his whole 2 week summer gig?  This was way back when he was scrambling to build himself up as someone really great rather than to work and learn and gain the respect of listeners.  I despise a liar in any form and he uses them all.

My weak attempt too.  I guess it was in bad taste.

Phew, what a relief! I thought I'd offended.  ;D

OK, then, let's hear it: George Noory sucks!

Up top on the left it says "Your profile". Click on that, then click on "forum profile". Where it says "Personalized Picture" either upload your own or find one online and post the url.
Edit-btw, I think I remember Noory saying the Pentagon or the President himself requested his service. Nonsense obviously, but thats how Noory spices up his mundane existence. In before the lawsuit..

I give dave credit for mentioning art. I give him credit for the shout out to coast gab. Like it or not this is the most active forum of C2C listners, even if we do dislike Noory.

I think he was legit when he said thank god he didnt want to come back to this show... That would cause some problems. Remember in January Ar said premier offered him ANY time slot he wanted. Jorch knows he is premier's second choice.

Good for George for mentioning it. He also admitted Art is better than him. Flat out Bell is the best at what he does. Living Legend.

that said George Noory STILL SUCKS.

Agreed! :D

Lol no, I was trying to imply George had such a procedure done in his youth.  Pretty dumb I know.  GNS  ;D.

Last night genius George was talking about people who had passed on, in his own unique eloquent manner,
and he referred to Bill "Behold a Pale Horse" Cooper as Phil.  George has the gift of suckage which keeps on giving.    :o

Art, if you are still online, We are all still your creatures of the night!

Am going all Sirius all over my house.  I could always go to sleep listening to your voice.  Noory just pissed me off.   :)

You are definitely on to something. This would explain much, sort of like a one-way brain transplant.  ;D

"Heartwarming" is not a synonym for "heartbreaking", and George needs to learn the difference. Last night, he mentioned some of the sad and tragic tales that he received from his fans who were down on their luck like "poor Al Bielek" before he passed. He said that these tales of woe were "heartwarming". It wasn't the first time that he misused the word.

You would think the host of a national radio program would have some basic mastery of the English language.  God, he sucks so bad.

Some woman calls in: "George you're just doing a stellar job!".  Does anyone else find it odd how often these callers make it an explicit point to say what a fantastic job he's doing?  They don't just say they like the show etc., they very often say something which equates to "You're doing a great job!".

The guy's been there for 10 friggin years, and got his contract renewed until we have colonies on Mars - what the heck does he need with all the gushing reviews?  I'm sure he loves the ego-stroking, but I think it's more than that. It's like they're stacking the deck with the callers and trying to make all the other listeners believe he must be great because all these "independent" callers are all saying so.  It sounds like a phony marketing ploy to me, and I predict it will only rise in intensity over the next month now that some serious competition is on the horizon.

That's a great point that got lost in the shuffle. Some people speculated that some callers were paid or planted. It often seemed like many, if not most, callers praised Noory to the high heavens. It was over the top. It made you wonder if they were honest and sincere. If memory serves, he let the compliments flow uninterrupted. Your theory about PR may be proved during the next few weeks.

I heard a promo on the local station that carries Noorie here in Austin (KLBJ). Even in advertising him, they are forced to pick through his manglings. Speaking about people in the government who looked the other way despite knowing what was coming on 911, Dave said that they "turned their cheeks" on what was coming rather than turned their backs.

Everything that happened last night and is happening is c2c and George in panic mode. I guarantee people are canceling their streamlink and they got the numbers in since its been two weeks since the announcement and are worried like crazy.

At the moment, my only option to listen Art next month is to sleep in my car. But I'll do it if I have to.

I guess its time to upgrade my 1980s Sony clock radio.  It works now because it takes the edge off of Noory's obnoxious voice.  I listened to the high fidelity clip of Noory posted here earlier and I wanted to puke.  He sounds like a bloodhound that has been taught the speak English.

But I'll need a better radio so as not to miss Art's silk-smoky voice.  Can't wait.

Yes, I've heard him claim the Pentagon assignment.  I find it hard to beeleef that reserves would get Pentagon jobs, but I admit I don't know that.  If I recall he has "fudged" his claim too from "Intelligence" to "Communications" - I highly doubt he was in Intelligence.

If I had to say, I can see him in "Communications" which probably entailed handing out brochures for the Navy at job fairs or conventions or something similar/comparable to his skill set (minimal).

AND, a COMMUNICATIONS MAJOR who can't communicate!

I've thought over the years of trying to count/keep track of his language/grammar mistakes and it is impossible.  He can't even get through a couple sentences let alone a whole segment without multiple errors or mistakes.

It is quite stark when you listen to almost any other talk show host and hear them go on for twenty or thirty-minute segments off the top of their head with hardly a hint of any major error.

Listening to Jorch is like trying to get through Porky Pig doing a monologue, except Porky isn't butchering the English language every 5th word.

Anyone else find it hilarious that Jorch lurks around in a thread titled George Noory Sucks! and then gets upset about the content? What a creepy little goblin.

What is weird is art has made known he does not like the current C2C program.

Noory has also mentioned he has emailed Art and he did not respond.

This is the first communication we have heard of between the two in YEARS and YEARS.

IF - big if - we should believe George when he says he and Art have been in communication this week, my guess is it would be something along the lines of George congratulating him and Art acknowledging it.

George has said several times after Art left the show that he sent at least one email that was not responded too and that he had not heard from Art.  Followed by something like 'he's winding down folks, he winding down'.  Yeah George, you wish.

I'd like to think Art's email was a reminder to George of his obligation to mention the show's founder in the closing.  How funny would that be?  Probably not true, but...

People are going to hate me for  saying this but I think George actually had potential when he orginally took over. He still even had Art around to bounce ideas off, ask questions, and to help mentor him. I actually heard the night hawk was pretty funny on KRTS.
Instead Noory goes 180 tuns into Dave and ties himself to premier. Instead of doing his show in St.Louis he moved to Premier studios. Why would he do this??
Only one answer, to get in with the big whigs of premier. Premier's finger prints are all over the show. This is why not only Noory but coast to coast SUCKS.

I think George feels their relationship has improved the last few weeks, probably due to art not ignoring him. I dont think Art hate's Noory or even blames him for a lot of the damage done to the show. I think Art puts most the blame on Premier.

Noory is not the villian everyone makes him out to be.
Is he bad at his job? Yes

Is he a corporate shill? yes

Wait, what? Jeorge is emailing Art?
That just sounds crazy man.

We have a winner!

jesus christ I take one day off of bellgab and  miss all of this, I only found out by seeing Art's message tonight on facebook. schtrange 24 hours.

Couldn't be more apparent that Art found George's shout out last night to be a strategic move to try and make sure people don't pester him about Art. George doing that after two weeks of silence was a slime ball move made by a sleazy person trying to pull the wool over people's eyes. Well, the gig is up. Art will be on a network that let's him be uncensored and unrestricted, the truth is out there and it's coming fast.

George since I know you read this, it's most definitely time to make some changes, you've skated by, you've done horrible shows with no show prep. Your interviewing skills have been going down hill, and you threaten people on the internet who disagree with you, and pay others off to get them to like you.

Realize one thing George, EVERYTHING you have was built by one man, Art Bell. And you have torn it down piece by piece, you have turned it into an amateurish show that people still listen to because they don't have another option. Well now they do, Art will be on enough every week and EARLIER in the night. Listening to Art's show then listening to your show would be pointless. It would be like going to the World series then going to a softball game.

Competition brings out the best of all of us. Time to step your game up. You lost me a LONG time ago but you still have some listeners, and I guarantee if they get a taste of Art they will drop you so fast.

This is your warning BELL. Long term contracts don't mean a thing in the radio business, you know that. Talk about your contract all you want, if your ratings sink low, and revenue dips you will be out so fast you won't know what hit you.

So in all honesty, good luck. You're going to need it.

I have been out every night possible this summer.  The last three nights have been spectacular!  No moon to interfere......the Milky Way in all of its glory!  Also, look to the northeastern sky around 10:00 the next two nights (Sunday and Monday) for the Perseids!

i agree.  i never felt this visceral hatred for george noory which many others express on a routine basis.  yeah, i became angry at his ineptitude in hosting c2c, but that's really premiere's fault for hiring and retaining him.  noory is the symptom, not the problem.

now that art's back, years of frustration over the demise of c2c have been lifted and, for me, it's as if the whole thing never happened.  i'm looking forward.

what becomes of noory will become of noory.  he delivers a substandard product on a nightly basis with essentially zero competition (until now), so his situation will resolve its self in time.
