George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

I'm guessing it was George's way of saying "yes MV, those emails were from me."  It seems to fit his MO as we've seen it the last couple of days.
You may damn well be right.
But, that would be a huge backfire on his part as it would direct uninitiated listeners of his to this site. Probably not a high percentage, but still. Jeorge.....LOL nice one man.

From my years in broadcasting, including working for Cheap Channel, I'm sure the decision to not mention Art and the decision to mention him were both made by corporate suits.  I would have liked to have sat in on the meetings (yes, plural) that arrived at the decision to give the shoutouts to Art and coastgab.  I'll bet they were a hoot.  On to 1000.

I wonder in what world they live in where poking fun at a celebrity public person is considered a legitimate court case. I think they would have to prove that 1. Tommy is not overweight or 2. that Dave isn't a moron. Good luck with that... And that shout out was the saddest attempt at appeasement I have ever seen. "We mentioned your forum, can you leave us alone now?" So sad...
Still glad I didn't tune in tonight. One less headache.

His statement, I think, was meant to welcome Art back. Even complete assholes can have a moment of kindness. I imagine Dave subtly interjects his own worthiness to keep others aware of his importance. That must be a sad existence.

I am sure there is some hoping his public "bowing to the king" is to mitigate any animosity. Trouble is... it is too late. But I doubt Art will have much if anything to say about c2c. Why would he? Why distract his audience with finding comparisons?

I am really only posting to help get this thread to 1000 pages before the 16th... most likely, not a problem.

I give it 48 hours.

edit:  forgot, it's a weekend.  I'll give it 84 hours... 3 1/2 days.

I agree, unless Art decides to post about whatever has kept him so interested in this forum today to merit multiple visits and an extended visiting time this morning.  Then I'd give it 24 hours or less.

I guess what I'm saying is that I get the Art shoutout, albeit belated and likely forced. I get his "problem" now that Art is back soon. Yadda Yadda and on and on. The CoastGab mention was totally out of place and out of character. But I suppose all of his other bullshit mentioned was too.
Seems the only answer if no Jeorge evil is involved in the CoastGab mention would be that it too was mentioned/ORDERED from higher up the food chain? Am I that far out in asking that question?

Well, in his recognizing Art, and making it about himself, George did mention his "until we're on Mars extended contract".  Maybe he is just giving up and thinking, I've got a job, it's cushy and I basically do no prep work - who cares what the haters say?  I still have my job until I die...

Maybe he got an email from Jeorge like MV did? Prob something like, "you have the most foulmouthed, obscene, insane fans on Earth. I beg you to silence them".  Or he just thinks we're cool and agrees with our sentiments.

As the author of the post that was the catalyst for the threat of legal action email to MV, I can only laugh! Hey Tommy or Jorch, MV didn't create the post, I did, ME. If you have the sack, feel free to threaten me, K??

I bet Jorch heard part of his own show and became and instant Bellgab fan.

Mr. Noory, I submit to you take responsibility for your own show.  That's the best way to get rid of sites like this.  If indeed you did send that email, don't be petty by using litigation to bring a young family to their knees when you have nothing to gain and they have everything to lose.

No broadcasting experience, but this is was what I was thinking, too.

Noory said 'coastgab' like someone swallowing a dose of cod liver oil, and his happy announcement about Art's return sounded forced and insincere.

It may just be that Premiere is tired of having to keep we haterz off their Facebook and Twitter pages. It may also be that someone there is actually smart enough to realize that, even though Art isn't going head-to-head with Noory time-slot-wise, few people have the time to listen to both shows. Twelve hours a week (or more, as he announces guest hosts for the weekends) is twelve hours I don't have to listen to Noory (assuming I wanted to).

I have to say, I think this forum and its members are single-handedly responsible for forcing George's acknowledgment of Art's new show tonight.
Quote from: PurpleChirple on August 10, 2013, 12:41:40 AM
...a shout out to CoastGab???  I swear to God it sounded like it.  I'm speechless....

A momentous night.  George tears down the Stalinist wall and acknowledges Art's new show and gives a shout out to Coastgab.  A victory for this forum, but it leaves so many questions.  Many of which have been asked here tonight.  That email MV received, unpunctuated and sloppy, is either George or Tom.  Giving us a shutout after sending that email is a warning.  But why draw attention to the "haters"?  The Art acknowledgement made sense.  It's almost as if there are two forces at work over there.  One logical, one devious.  George's recent "engagement" smells like he has told someone "no, I'm not going to do every interview like I'm dumb and starting from scratch."  The email quotes a swipe at Tom.  Tom "I've got another stupid text question/always hovering over George" Danheiser.  But could Tom just add a forum to the shoutout list without George checking it out?  Is that possible?  Yeah, lots of questions, but for now I think all Coastgabbers can take a bow and enjoy the moment of a hard fought battle won...or just begun.

hahaha noory you utter C*NT!

As Ive said before - If you want to cost Dave more $$$ I will sign an affidavit taking responsibility for the posts and content of the site and he can hire two lawyers, because Im based in the UK Dave will have to hire a US lawyer and a british one, and they aint cheap! hahahah!

First of all, the announcement sounded taped and painstakingly prepared to me. I am sure his masters made sure after the 37th take it was just the way they wanted it. Maybe he got a properly prepared pizza roll and a pat on the toupee as a reward.

Secondly, this reminded me of the Queens situation after the death of Diana. Total silence from the royal family as millions grieved. Finally she came out to express her condolences over Diana's death (murder?) after an prolonged silence. She did not want to do it, but had no choice. Were either of these prepared statements sincere? No way.

I guess I will have to get my satellite radio hooked up finally.

I am so pleased that Art will be back.

There were lots of indications that Snoorey is insecure last night.
He mentioned about "kidding around" with Art threatening his show
He said Art returning would be a problem for him
They played a lot of Arts bumper music - no Lady in Red or Frank Sinatra
Mentioned Coastgab as loyal listeners - who us?
Replayed his one "classic" call (betcha can't guess which one that is)
Dropped Ian Punnet from the sign-off

I also couldn't stand him incorrectly calling "contrails" jet trails.
I have never heard of a jet trail.

On to 1000

The games have begun.  I wonder if Jorch's 180 with Art was due to PremRat finally waking-up to the situation.  Jorch, being the good little boy corporate suck-up, doesn't go to the bathroom without asking permission from his dark master.  After all, Jorch "gets it."  ;)  The strategy of just ignoring Art and hoping he'd go away isn't going to work when you've got such a weak player with Jorch.   PremRat's Darth Vader has passed down the latest strategy to Dave Noorie.  "Pretend to play "nice" with Art, at least for awhile, Davey, unless you want to hit the lounge lizard circuit full time."

Look at how many of Jorch's regular guests have probably jumped ship and are no doubt knocking on the USS Dark Matter, requesting permission to board.  Night after night of good 'ol "TBA" isn't going to cut it, even for "hey our listening audience is as dumb as a rock so what does it matter" PremRat.  Heck, even Jorch's hokey "science advisor" has shown up at ArtBell.com and Knapp is publicly welcoming The Master's return.  ;D

Enjoy, Jorch.  Karma is finally knocking on your door.

It's all damage control, and I think our Bateman actually forced it to a head with those call-in's. Up until Art's announcement, Jorch has been coasting along, no pun intended, bringing on quack guests, doing 0 show prep, and living off the shell of what C2C was, while trying to line his pockets with his tacky enterprises like the video podcast.

Art's announcement gave him the kick in the ass he's overdue for by 9 years, and the responses all over his facebook page, here, Art's page and in the media where even Knapp referred to Art as the master is like a nightmare come true for the Nooron. He now has competition, major league competition and, as usual, his first reaction was petty because he's a petty man. But, someone obviously sat him down and made him face a few unpleasant truths, or trooths as he says, and that is he isn't quite as popular as he thinks, and it's not just the "haters" who don't like the direction the show took in the past nine years.

I don't think he or Prem Rat were prepared for the landslide of pent up frustration and anger about C2C that Art's announcement unleashed, and now they're covering their asses, trying to rebrand Noory as a nice guy when he really isn't. Too late: that ship sailed when he dropped Art from the closing credits.

I like how Borey passively aggressively discourages people by saying satellite radio's not cheap and it's not free.  I want someone to call in and tell him SiriusXM's only 15 cents a day...

Jorch as a "nice guy."  Hahahaha....that's not his true nature.  Once a scorpion, always a scorpion.  Even if you're an incompetent scorpion.  No offense to Rock.  ;)

Yep, he put Art Bell back in the closing credits!

I'm thinking this is how Premrat's spinning it:

Everyone loves Art, Premrat owns a lot of Art's old shows. They're going to try to leverage Art's popularity and current PR in promoting the Somewhere in Time shows, and make sure C2C is firmly attached to his coattails. Instead of ignoring it, they're co-opting it.

;D  Tough decision.  I can either waste my money to join Jorch's "Shpeshial Club" and watch his Make Beeleef TV show or I can spend a little money and listen to an award winning radio legend.

I don't believe Art will dwell on it, but I also don't think he will ignore it either. I believe that he will find some classy and thoroughly Art-like way to acknowledge the situation, past and present, which will make his thoughts and feelings known clearly while avoiding the whiff of scandal (or threats of legal action, not that I think he would be concerned anyway).

I completely agree that it's a spin job and they have decided, after multiple meetings way above Dave's pay grade, that there's not profit in either ignoring or antagonizing Art, so yes, they are going to do their best to be corporate ramorahs.

Sardondi

Quote from: Scully on August 10, 2013, 12:36:28 AM....This was a painfully embarrassing experience for me on his behalf.  I cannot imagine what would make someone put on the performance he did and apparently have no clue that this should never, ever be done again.  He did, mercifully, just give up on the second song, but went on to even lower depths with the third.

The man has something wrong with way more than his voice.
Wow. Just.....wow. I thought I already knew how oblivious he was to his sheer badness...but I knew nothing. He actually said, near the end of the Charles Trenet/Bobby Darin song "La Mer/Beyond The Sea", that "this sounds like karaoke". Sounds like karaoke? Ye gods and little fishes, man - you're singing to a bunch of menopausal women backed up by a boombox playing a $1.99 cd of the instrumental parts of songs popular with middle-aged shower-singers, and you say your performance sounds like karaoke!? Seriously, are you mentally ill?!

This man has to be one of the most totally self-unaware persons in the history of the species.

Quote from: Nucky Nolan on August 09, 2013, 01:18:37 AM...He also shared one of his charitable acts with us again. So much for doing good deeds in private when others can't hear or see them. He sure wants his audience to know what a nice guy he is.
Quote from: Morgus on August 09, 2013, 01:22:53 AM...But since it looks he will never reach that level (the total has actually shrunk since the last time he mentioned it) he now plans on funding the needy listener giveaway deal by himself from his profits from his new long, long term PremRat contract.

He mentioned he once gave Fantastic Forum moderator Spike Mike years ago $500 to help him with something....

"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

I dunno, if he were to seek my advice, I would suggest ignoring Dave. Maybe make references to how he originated the show that is now without a rudder.
