You know, I'm beginning to think the incredibly obnoxious troll who posted on the Art Bell thread just a little while before Art logged on the first time earlier this evening was not a coincidence.  Here's my theory:  Jorch (or someone at PremRat) contacted Art about the haters forum.  In order to convince Art what a nasty bunch of haters they really are, someone at PremRat dropped that turd on the Art Bell thread about 15 minutes before Art logged in, then they told him to go take a look at it.

I have to say, I think this forum and its members are single-handedly responsible for forcing George's acknowledgment of Art's new show tonight.

It was never my intention to become a "hater", as george calls us. In fact, I wont participate in any flaming as a rule. However, when it came down to it, I couldnt stand by and not remark on the destruction of a program that I truely enjoyed. Arts version of C2C was one pleasure I looked forward to. As noory slowly dismantled it I became angry. Another example of take something good and screw it up. The difference this time was I found an outlet that enabled me to vent. Better yet, my anger, along with many others, was actually making it back to the target intended. Good old george. he did it to himself. he refused to listen to the core audience and that was a very dumb thing to do. Yeh yeh....600 stations now. But what of the many 50K stations that no longer carry Coast? Most are gone now. And it takes a healthy number of little radio stations to make up the loss of one big station. Some of those stations covered several states. Gone. Squandered. Wasted. Why? because noory sucks, thats why.

Yes, yes he does.  After sending MV the weird copy/paste to make it clear that he knew Bateman was a member of this forum, followed by Dave's contemptible behavior towards Spike Mike last night, anyone can plainly see how desperate he's become.  There's no depths to which he will not sink to try to force the internet to stop saying what an asswipe he is.   He's trying to throw Art's fans a bone (too late, too late Dave) thinking he can purchase some undeserved goodwill.   Sorry, Dave, not gonna work.

Leaving the show for good and no longer even filling in, not returning George's email, 'not just phoning it in, examples of that can be heard nightly', 'not edgy enough' - George knows good and well what Art thinks.  Anyone coming to this site knows what we think. 

This is damage control.  Just a little bit of graciousness to blunt anything Art might have said about George and Coast when he comes back and gets everyone caught up (although Art has too much class to probably have said much more on those subjects away). 

This was actually a brilliant strategic move - which means it likely wan't George's idea.  If it were truly sincere, it would have come much earlier, like the day of Arts announcement.



The CoastGab shout out had to have been an attempt to turn down the temperature a little, hold onto a few listeners that visit or post here, and hopefully reduce posts criticizing him for being small about Art's new show.

I listened to the Art announcement clip and there is no way George wanted to do that, it was ordered from above.  And typical George, he "says" its an announcement about Art, but it was ALL ABOUT HIM and how he was affected.  He says good thing Art will be on satellite - read as I STILL HAVE MY JOB.  Then he says I'm glad he didn't want to come back to Coast OR THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ME.  "I'm delighted that he's on satellite radio - ha ha ha".  He "said" the things he was told to as others said for damage control, it was not sincere at all if you listen to how it all came back to how he still had a job and good thing Art was going to be on satellite "which you know is expensive and you have to pay for" according to George.  Disingenuous and forced, and all about how Art's return could have affected George's cushy job.
