I think they played Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult a little while ago.  Is that the one you meant?

It wasn't that one...might have come on earlier.  Not sure.. I think there's a bumper music list on the Coast site.  I wish Noory would say what the music is before or after it plays.  Wells often does and I appreciate it.

George Knapp usually mentions the music played, as well.  Yes, just go to the C2C site and they have a list of the music played.  Of course, you'll have to suffer through looking at George "Mr. Potato Head" Noory.

The bidding for the auction for a dinner with Noory is up to $1800 right now:
https://www.charitybuzz.com/auctions/clearchannel/catalog_items/347316

The listing indicates its worth estimated $5500, how odd - I'd value it at zero!

I'd like to know more about the loser who would put up that kind of money to have dinner with the guy. Or maybe he just wants to poison DisGeorge's food.

Maybe he's good for dinner, baked, with lots of butter, sour cream, and chives.  ;)

Too clean... I will stash a shot piece of piano wire and a couple lengths of wood to help with leverage.  Trust me- you will feel better with the garrote than a gun.

Undoubtedly true, there's something special about doing a great deed with your own hands. An avatistic quality perhaps, knowing that my ancestors in the 15th century likely killed that way without technological advancements like stones or spears.

Richard Belzer is to comedy as Lou Reed is to rock. Although Belzer leans favorably towards the liberal. He also has a penchant for conspiracies as many polemists do.
That's a great comparison, both are reliably unreliable and will wander from the reservation from time to time. A contrarian spirit ignites them quite a bit. Both have the courage of conviction to say things that will bring them heat from more doctrinaire ideological allies. I find that very admirable.

Why have dinner with George for $1800 when you can have coffee with Tim Cook for 180,000?  Hey, in this world sometimes you get what you pay for!

I would gladly pay $180,000 if "dinner with George Noory" meant "twelve bags of pizza rolls shoved down Noory's throat".

You would have to pay me to have dinner with him.  A lot.  And I would want one of you fellow haters with me.  Pay them too.  And a barf bag.  And an out to leave early.  And some good chocolate cake ready to go with me.  Ebay the cookware - I have inductive cooking and I like my cookware just fine.

"Dinner with George"..... sounds like good parody material for Phil Hendrie.  I could see it being held at "Ted's of Beverly Hills," with Ted narrating the event.  Of course, George would skip out without paying the bill, Tommy leading the way with his doggy bag, and Ted would make a big deal about presenting the final tab to George's lucky date.  ;)

This could have been such a good interview except all of Snoorey's looka-me-isms.  Could someone tell him to STFU?  So what, he had everything figured out at 13. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We've heard.  Everyone is impressed.
What was this crap I remember George saying about how even at age 13 he felt some trickery was afoot with the JFK assasination?  Belzer kinda asked him to clarify as if to give him a chance to take it back AND then George went full steam ahead about how he was the FIRST to think conspiracy... JFK... at age 13!!  Belzer was great with some of his crafty comments to callers.  I was in and out through most of this show but I think I'll be giving it a relisten.  Definitely some "classic" C2C moments.

LMH is on tonight for her monthly appearance.  Maybe she'll get some good Noory "slap down" moments.  At least Noory can catch-up on his sleep while she drones on about "high strangeness."

My guess is that LMH looks forward to her monthly interaction with George the same way she looked forward to her period in her pre-menopausal days.

;D  You can hear LMH gritting her teeth at times.  It's almost like the old SNL Weekend Update routine of "Point/Counterpoint" between Jane Curtin and Dan Akroyd, except the hilarious Dan Akroyd role is replaced by the mind-numbing, dead-air/inept remark from The Nooron.  I can hear LMH saying to herself "George, you ignorant fool..." before each of her replies to Noory.

Richard Belzer did get it last night. And he took over the show because of how weak Noory is as a host, a  radio personality, and a human being.

I didn't realize Belzer would be as good as he was, and I tuned in late. So I may go back and listen to the full interview. Though when I was listening, Belzer was handling callers and thanking them for phoning in, conversing well, telling one caller "what is your question." .. You know. Like a host would...

I know, towards the end Belzer was accepting the calls with no moderation from George, and gently asking them to hurry along so they could get more people in (George's job).  With about 7 minutes to go, after Belzer just told the previous caller he wanted to get more calls in, George broke in with some story about himself (I honestly don't remember what it was) and filled the remaining time with that.  Belzer politely listened but then graciously apologized to to all those who hadn't gotten through for not being able to talk to them, noting the phone board was still full.

Isn't that what George should be doing every night instead of telling stories about himself?  I don't know, maybe George is just a seasoned host who knows not to take calls in the last few minutes so there are no abrupt transitions at the end.  Way to keep things rolling Mr. Noory.

Hey, how about Richard Belzer as the new host?  The guy DOES get it!
Yes!
Belzer nearly took control over the show in the final hour last night with callers.
He was handling the callers directly and making them get to their point/question quickly - much superior to Noory.
Also Belzer demonstrated an incredible knowledge and interest of a wide variety of c2c topics, unlike Noory.

Nine years in the RESERVES!  No sea duty either.  Believe me if he did, he'd talk it up.  "I was on the USS ____ " and he'd tell you all about his cruises, etc.

And he went in the Navy just when everyone (including me) was getting out!  They were offering huge reenlistment bonuses with few takers.   No one was going into the service in the late Vietnam years unless they HAD to.

At that time they were accepting for OCS anyone with a pulse and an English degree.   Even a schlump from Detroit named Noory.

He was probably rejected for regular Navy.  Oh, and why do just nine years?  Why not go for 20 and make rank -- LCDR at least -- and get that pension money?   I'll bet he got passed over for promotion twice and had to leave because of it....

Noory told before of getting out of his Navy PR desk job just before 10 years, and coincidentally his unit was planned to go to Iraq soon, so he avoided that...

Oh brother. Now Snoory is bragging about interviewing Jimmy Hoffa before he disappeared.
yeah that was predictable.
Noory had to try to impress Belzer with his claim that he was the last reporter to interview Hoffa...

I think my favorite Belzer moment was when a caller was droning on with a long story, and the caller said "I'll get to the point quickly."  And Belzer replied, "No, you won't."  And of course the caller did not.
yeah that was funny.
the final hour with Belzer controlling the callers was the best...  ;D

How do they keep resigning the idiot?
i wish the network did get Noory to "resign" not "re-sign"  8)

I think George approaches this job like I used to approach my summer jobs on the Green Chain at a lumber mill.  Except instead of pulling lumber off a conveyer he's taking calls.  He's keeping one eye on the clock not because he's concerned for the callers who are hanging on (like Belzer was), but just because each new caller is agony and all he wants to do is get out of there.  And when he can read off that list of people to thank every night at the end, he's oh so happy to be finished.

Too harsh?

Which proves Hoffa is dead. If he were alive he'd come out of the woodwork to issue a denial.

If Noory wasn't so lazy, he should have offered to go an extra hour with Belzer, I'm sure Belzer would have agreed.
Art did 5 hour shows, but Noory can barely handle four and has to take off lots of Friday nights now (including this week)...

I'm surprised he had the willpower to wait so long.  George tells us that story every chance he gets.

Mr. Dean have you permanently discontinued doing "word of the day?"  I hope you've just been on hiatus... everybody loved them and there's more than enough material out there.  If you'll start doing it again I'm sure many of us can jot down show times where you can find the mushiest of the mush... maybe start a thread for it.... if you'll friggin DO EEEEET!!!

whaddaya say?  don't make me pm yer ass!
