I am being apolitical in this post, but his comments about Obama last night were disrespectful, and that is being mild.  I did not listen to every comment, actually it was on as background noise.  I believe it was something like, "I knew our civil rights would be infringed by some ____Democrat, but I never thought it would be by some black Democrat."  That is not the word for word comment, but it made a specific reference to Obama's race, and to me that is racist, not political.

I'm not so sure.  When Obama was elected and for the first few years, it seemed like everything he did was trumpeted as 'historical'.  That wasn't considered controversial, let alone 'racist'.  He self identifies as an African-American, so noting he is one doesn't seem disrespectful.

That someone would suggest perhaps an African-American President would be more attuned to civil rights - given the events in many of our own lifetimes - than someone else, isn't even slightly racist.  It seems lately we are being told any time someone brings up race, it's 'racist'.  It isn't.  We are even now starting to hear that criticizing a religion is 'racism'.  That isn't either.

Racism is the belief that a certain race is inherently inferior or superior to another, and any hatred that comes along with it.  Where is that in that guests comment?

I will say that the civil rights Black Americans marched for were mostly equality, not the rights this guest was speaking of, so from that stand point his coment didn't make much sense.

Doomed

I have been listening to the Boston police scanners and a local TV stream since the MIT shooting news broke.

Black hat bombing suspect is dead. The guy they stripped and cuffed was innocent and released. White hat still at large.
Thanks for clearing that up. As I type this, the anchors at WBZ are setting it straight...more or less.

Norry is probably repeating the names that were heard on the police scanners.

Apparently its a thing going around on the internet about a student who mysteriously took a leave of absence for a month.  From what he's saying it doesn't sound like there's any official search for this person as a suspect, but there's a picture Noory is directing us to.

Listening to news feeds it sounds like the guy you're referring to.

jinwicked

White hat is the student who went missing; I believe that is confirmed. They named both suspects on the police scanner.

The picture I linked is from footage at one of the convenience stores they robbed or attempted to rob, AFAIK.

They're just reporting suspect apprehended and possible explosive devices.

         Mike Muguleta...DEAD

          Sunil Tripathi...on the loose

One or both suspects may had/have suicide vests or explosives on them. Welp, I am not getting any sleep this morning.

Roy Hinkley

I know what's become of the hole - he is hosting C2C (regarding caller asking about Mel's Hole - George said he didn't know what had become of the hole)

Roy Hinkley

Just because these suspects are young, why does George think they can't be terrorists?  He still is claiming they're just whackos.  Young college-aged men can be terrorists.

Roy Hinkley

So George just basically took credit for identifying the second suspect.  He just got in online like everone else - what a self-absorbed tool.

Even if this student's picture was all over the internet, George has stated he didn't know if he was a suspect when he started spelling out his name and saying he looked like the picture released of the bomber.  Doing so he  immediately made this student a target to all his listeners.  It seems pretty irresponsible to me even though it seems to have turned out to be correct.

jinwicked

Looks like the Internet was wrong after all.

Yeah...AP seems certain about the origin.

What a nice night.  sNoory was preempted for Boston coverage.

coaster

too bad he was wrong on the second suspect. noory fails yet again.  ::)

One slight ray of sunshine in all this sorry mess: George Noory is relegated to the bottom of the pile of things which matter.

Well, I am sure. Very sure. You've created a phony position to shield Hulet.  He wasn't talking about Obama being "attuned to civil rights"; he said that a black democrat President was taking away Americans' rights.  Covering his toxic racist inferences with the veil of left/right ideological justification enables the cockroaches who still can't see past color.  Since Obama was elected, it's  has become all too acceptable for white resentment to bubble to the surface and that, in the words of the one who brought all here together, is no coincidence.

Probably just a subjective thing.  For me, his many speech impediments are like nails on a chalkboard.  Every word that has an "s" that becomes "sh" for example, "shpecial ohnpen lines".  And then words like "powerful" he can't say in the ads - it's something like "phorfull imune defense".  For me each infraction may not be huge, but the sheer quantity is what is so distracting.

No matter what he's saying, his manner of speaking just says "moron" to me.

I've noticed that George replaces ING with EEN.  As in, "I'm think-een of go-een camp-een."  Or, "my next guest is the award win-een Alex Jones."  Or, "I wish those annoy-een haters would stop post-een all those messages." Or, "I am host-een the most highly-regarded radio show in the history of broadcast-een while the haters are live-een in their parents' basement.

You are correct!  Most interest-een, is George broadcast-een, while liv-een in his mom's basement, is when he always says human-bean, rather than being.  Thank you for notice-een this frustrate-een man who is ruin-een a once great show.

From the Coast website:

Fri 04-19
In the first half, motivational speaker and author Polly Campbell talks about integrating spiritual techniques with one's ordinary life. Followed by Open Lines.

From Polly's website, copied and pasted:

Coast to Coast AM with Greg Noory
10 p.m. Friday, April 19th
We'll talk about the Synchronicity, Intuition and the Perfect Trap

We must have George's Doppelganger as an extra shhpecial guest for Friday night into Saturday morning with those famous ohhnpen lines.

That, or Polly's intuition isn't working with names...

I didn't create anything.  I didn't listen to the show - I never do, I was just responding to what appeared to be a bit of over-reaction by a few posters.  Maybe it sounded worse hearing the guest say it and he meant to be fanning the flames of racism.  I'll take your word for it.

Other than the usual bullshit associated with this show, what shocked me most about last night's episode was that some genius at Lockheed Martin actually decided it would be a fine idea for Jorch to host/speak at Space Day.  Can anyone here point out even ONE legitimate qualification this utter fool has to even attend, let alone speak at, such an event?!?  I feel sorry for those poor kids and their parents and sincerely hope Jorch doesn't turn them all off of "shy-ence" forever.  And to the powers-that-be at LM...C'MON MAN!!!.  You couldn't find ANYONE more qualified than him?  Really? :o

He gets these gigs because he is the host of the show.  They hope to get some free publicity out to the listeners from having him.  Apparently no one stays up nights to find out for themselves how terrible he is, but they do see him being praised by people interviewing him and from PremRat.  And George himself is alwasy available to brag about himself.  Without knowing, who would suspect someone in his position would be dumb and lazy and completely lacking in talent.

ChewMouse

Did you all catch that "Producer Tommy" will be accompanying George to this speaking engagement? I'm telling you: George cannot function without a keeper. And I'm quite sure that Tommy can take over any speechifying if George gets the jitters.

RedMichael

What a sad life for Tommy if he acts as George's butler. I would be so depressed I would eat myself into oblivion.

Tommy also appears to be Noory's driver, having to be on call even at the wee hours of the night in case Noory needs to be taken to the ER after swallowing a burning-hot pizza roll...

Well you know, Tommy knows these little places...

Whenever he talks about Tommy doing something for him outside work, he'll say something like 'I guess that's just what a good producer does'.  I don't ever remember him showing appreciaton for something specific Tommy had done on the job for the show.
