That's right Jorch, rush him past the story about Mitnick hacking the FBI phones, and Mitnick ordering the FBI doughnuts.  >:(

He's already hurtled him forward to current events.  Storytime is over.  Thanks "No-fun" Noory!

Yup, that's one problem with this "split-show" format. Having to rush him to get it done in two hours. I've heard Mitnick's story before, maybe more than once, but still...

Plus the sNooron's questions are STUPID. GNS

So lame, we're already at George's fave segment "final phone calls".  Jeez, Mitnick is like a nerd gold mine, and Noory's just rushing him through so we can get to some woo-woo second guest.  Dammit, I wanna hear about circa 1980 modems!

me2  >:( >:( >:( Plus it seems Jorch is interrupting Mitnick a lot tonight. Does he always interrupt this much? The interrupting seems to be on a Hoagy-esque level for Jorch to try to be hip.

I seem to recall really liking Mitnick in the past.  One of the few guests that I can recall at all, and I seem to think that I enjoyed his segments.

The two of you do not make it sound promising (and I have been "off of George" for well over a year now.)  Is it worth risking the broken radio and gaping hole in my kitchen wall when the 5 pound package of diodes, wire, circuit boards and transistors wrapped in a plastic casing suddenly becomes airborne and is propelled towards the drywall?

Best call of the nite, right at the end of Noory's ham-handed interview.  Dude calls in to extol the awesome security of (now defunct) DEC's VMS system .. Kevin responds with "Oh yeah, I got busted for hacking them and stealing the VMS source code itself."   ;D

It's already over, he was just on for half a show...less than that because the first half-hour is taken up by Jorch reading news etc.

For you it is over... For me the local station is just about to play George's purloined theme song.

If I want to listen live, I have to purposely search the net for a station that carries him.  And I only make that effort for Knapp lately.

Ah the age-old thorny question:  "Does a good guest outweigh the George factor?"  Well for me, I can only say that over time I've cultivated a Zen-like acceptance of Nooryisms, such that for certain guests I can enjoy their appearance without the obligatory annoyance factor going off the scale.  Usually I can moderate my bursts of frustration with 1) a few well-timed GNS thread critiques and 2) several very strong martinis.

Oh well then, give it a whirl...

You know when your friend says "here smell this" and you know it's going to be bad? Well, you've been warned  ;D

So much talk of angels these last two hours...

Unbeleefable that Jorch didn't mention portals.

"Online Columnist" John Curtis is really moving up the ranks (or is it down the ranks) as the worst of the worst on C2C. He seems to think he's an expert on everything, but doesn't seem to have any qualification on any of these subjects. Which is fine, if you want to be a poster on Bellgab lol.

He's really trying to take away "Moonlight" accomplishment just because it's a black movie? There were three "black movie" nominated and none seem out of place. Hidden Figures was the highest grossing out of all nominated pictures. Moonlight and Fences are both considered quality films.

He does seem like the wrong person to be talking about Hollywood and the Oscars. You'd think one of his actor friends would have been a better choice. We'll never completely understand the conglomeration of gears inside of Georgie's strange head.

Last year was the Oscar inequality hubbub, as you may remember. Curtis surmised the awards to the "black folk" this year were to silence last year's critics, I'd guess. There may be a bit of truth to it, but as you said, doing so strips the cast and crew of of their efforts and acclaim. How about that Viola Davis with her trifecta? I didn't hear her amazing accomplishment mentioned in their brief interaction.

Curtis (& Georgie with his invitation) went to political motivations for the selection of Oscar recipients, as the reason couldn't possibly be a film was exceptional and well received. The Right tends to view the Oscars as a big liberal orgy, anyway, so Georgie and Curtis were pandering to their base more than worrying about the merits of Oscar nominees and winners. Georgie and Curtis are frequent visitors to la-la land.

Not to bring politics up here in this thread but speaking of the Oscar mistakes, the "surprise" Trump election, the big Superbowl come-back, etc and the recent guest on C2C and talk about "simulated reality":

Noory leads with the dead baby story. I wonder if it was a mean baby.

It would have been if it had got to be a grown-up baby

GNS - The southern border is 2000 miles long. Noory's solution, put an military outpost every 1/4 mile. And he thinks that, coupled with a state of the art motion detection system will be cheaper than a wall.

At minimal staffing of two guards per tower, times 3 shifts per day and 7 days per week, you would need a minimum of 30,000 guards -  probably closer to 50,000. At a cost of $150-170k (using numbers of border patrol employee costs). That is a minimum of $4.5 billion per year.

.... will be cheaper than a wall.

Specifically one-tenth the cost, according to his personal calculations.

Joorch, who doesn't do politics, devotes 5 minutes to enthusing over Trump's speech to Congress. Calls him '100% Presidential'.

Not at $4.5 billion per year... And that doesn't count the cost of having to maintain the infrastructure such as roads and housing to facilitate the staffing.

Joorch says Jon Rappoport 'is as honest until the day is done.'
So I guess you can't trust what he says at night. Like now.
