Things That Annoy You

I try to counter my George jabs with warmth, love, compassion and gentle encouragement. I try to counter my JBW jabs with proclamations of lust.

George is a seasoned public figure who understands that with celebrity comes both public adoration and disapproval. The pain some people try to inflict here is at least countered by hundreds of adoring housewives and Whoopi Goldberg showering him with compliments and affection all day.

Falkie . . . has not yet reached that level in his career as a public figure.

All that aside, I like to think we take care of our own over here, particularly when outsiders come in and try to turn the place upside-down with chaos and assholishness. But maybe that's idealistic thinking. Regardless, I don't want people to swing by here and get the impression that Art Bell fans are a bunch of trollish assholes in general. When I'm an asshole, I at least try to be focused and thoughtful about its direction. I don't spread it all around like George's Asian-Flavored Butter for the hell of it.

Just when I start to get irritated with "some" you come along and put everything in perspective.  Damn, I like the way you think.   :)

Newsflash, we're all outsiders.  I still think Nancy Drew is hot though.

It all depends on your neighbors, unless you move so far out that you don't have any.   :)

I remember once seeing this guy interviewed, who was like a volunteer ranger of sorts out in some remote part of Death Valley.  He lived in a little camper out there all year round and would give tours and info to the few tourists that came through.  They asked him, how he deals with the summers that reach upwards of 120 degrees.  He said those were actually his favorite times, since there were no people at all then and he could just enjoy the quiet stillness of the desert.  The older I get, the less crazy he seems.

That man is a genius.

I'm ready to put my kitty in my backpack and go walking.  North.
I.  Swear.  To.  God.
I've called the whole world looking... I'm wore out, injured, and no closer to having a decent place to live.
The only option for me is County Mental Health Case Management Services, and, well, I don't feel good about it.

Looked at three places yesterday.  All were scary.  Gotta keep looking.

I'm so lost.  This is way beyond annoying.  Universe:  Help!

Redacted, please keep your chin up.  We don't need a Musings of Redacted thread.

If you couldn't take a bath or a shower you'd be annoyed too.

Agreed.   You'll find something!   What area of the world are you in again?

Heather Wade

Central california.  The search never ends.  I'm sorry, there's no one else to talk to but the suicide hotline.

Are you talkin' San Joaquin Valley, Redacted?  That is definitely an economically depressed section of the state.  Have you any friends, relatives with which you could crash for a time to save a little cash (first, last, security deposit)?  Any chance of making a move to sunnier parts?

Just found out I'll be spending the next 6 months or so alone.  Husband will be leaving with his job yet again, so the summer is down the toilet before it even starts. Yes, I'm very thankful he still has a decent job, but the separations still get to me, even after putting up with them for the past 18+ years.  :-\

Come to Washington.  They give away free apartments and tiny homes to people here.

No fam.  Everyone here is on meth, so, no friends.  I'm alone in the big bad world.

You've got us and your wonderful photographs!!  Sorry to hear that though, as a person alone, yes, I understand it can be difficult.

???

Washington sounds nice.  Woods.  Though I know nothing of the area.  Giving away free homes?  Cute.  But, not likely.
Do they still allow homesteading?  lol.

Thanks.  People say  you get used to it, and to a certain extent that's true. I just wish it would not take up our entire summer.  I don't recall the last 4th of July we've spent together. Blah.

I know this sucks, but the best thing is to stay busy.

Blah is right!!  So blah.  With a little "this is total crap" on the side.

Yep, that's my plan.  I was already planning on getting 4 hens and setting up a coop in addition to adding to my gardens, so that'll eat up some time.  Plus I am trying to take a few more courses to plump up my resume and get a job. I just wish I had people to get out and do stuff with here.  I've tried to get out and meet people, but that always ends up going nowhere.  :-[  Okay, enough feeling sorry for myself.  If I want to make myself feel better, I just need to look at the most beautiful baby, Olivia.  She's just over two months old now.  I totally miss her.

Heather Wade

Olivia is beautiful.  Hens and chickens and a garden... sounds like heaven!

I know, finding friends is... almost futile anymore.
All this technology, I fear, may not be helping us.

area51drone

My wife has had a lot of fun setting up our chicken coop the last couple months.  We're getting 2 more hens delivered tomorrow for a total of four.   It has been a lot of work, but she's been loving it.    Sorry your husband has to be away.  Thank him from all of us here at Bellgab.

agreed on the sad smiley.  the song came up randomly in my playlist the other day, and boy was that a little depressing.

oh boy.  that is a cuuute baby.

Beautiful babies can chase the blues away so quickly.    :)  Whenever I'm down, I just think of my granddaughter.  300 (not 3,000!!) miles away.

And (Red) stay strong.  Can you walk in some woods, now?  Take some time and just concentrate on you.  I think you'll be fine.   :)
