Be thankful you get a knock. The UPS drivers around here drop the box on the doorstep and run. No knock, no doorbell, no nothing. I rarely use the front door.  when I leave the house its always through the garage. I've had a package sit on the doorstep for 2 days. Only to realize, it had in fact been delivered, after I checked the online delivery status. How much longer would it take the driver to push the doorbell? 2 seconds?
Why do they mock me so?

As someone who ships a couple hundred packages a day, let me tell you.  UPS sucks.  The post office is the most reliable service, and they're also the most lenient when it comes to an address that might be slightly off.   They have the least number of lost packages as well.  UPS employees think their shit doesn't stink, and they get paid extremely high wages for what they do.   Our UPS driver pulls in $100k+ a year, with 6 weeks of vacation and of course all the other union benefits.   He is the first to admit that he's paid very well.  Anyone who tells you that a UPS driver is overworked is full of shit.   They get paid for every hour they're out there.  Most of the ones I see are lollygagging around when they're not knock and running like you guys have said.   They do not have a customer service attitude.    Fedex is different.   Many if not most FedEx drivers own their own routes so they care as most business owners would.  Their service is excellent in my experience, as they will go the extra mile to get you and retain you as a customer.   But they're no post office when it comes to reliable, fast, cheap shipping.  Low rung postal employees aren't paid extremely high wages, even though they are union.   The dozen or so people that I know who work for the post office and that I deal with on a regular basis are hard workers and do a good job.   The managers on the other hand are not of much help when there is a problem.     If you have any issues with your postal service, try tipping your carrier a starbucks card now and then - it will likely make a huge difference for you.

LADIES: when you wear a stupid hat all I'm thinking is 'sweaty hair'  ???

Well, I imagine "the ladies" are thinking the same thing when they see some brohan wearing a baseball hat forwards, backwards, sidewise, inside-out... pretty much anytime.  Or else they might be thinking, "Dude's losin' his hair."

Yeah, I mean men too, but 'LADIES:' on its own looks funnier.

This reminds me of the Lincolnshire, IL, office, which lost my $1200 package within two hours of my dropping it off.  Took a good 50 days for the insurance claim to get processed, but hey, at least I had the fucking insurance.

Southern accents are charming so you get a pass. For some reason I'm just thinking about women from Bergen County, NJ who also pronounce "drawing" as "drawering". Makes me grind my teeth.
