absolutely. I sent bc a pm after I read this earlier. and thank you eddie. it is five am, and within one hour or two, i know if i have more time with my mother, or lose her forever. bc's post was incredibly moving. i thank you all for your support. i know its inevitable, we all lose loved ones, and i hope everyone here just appreciates what they have. this is coming from the most miserable curmudgeon too.

Hang in there, Coaster.  I went through the same thing with my mom a few years ago -- numerous lung biopsies, bad diagnoses, remission, more bad diagnoses, etc.  I didn't feel like I could cope with it. Honestly, I don't think I did cope with it. You just do whatever you have to do to get through it. There is no one way to handle these things. Just know you're not alone, and you have support.

It is true - and a one way street.  This would be nothing if the little girl kissed the boy.  I believe that subsequent to the media reports the school grudgingly downgraded the "offense" to something lesser than sexual harassment.  This punctuates the tragedy of political correctness and fools who no longer see children for what they are, children.
