When the repairs are done,  the dealership is only a  5 min. bike ride from my house.
The trip to N. AZ Monday morning will have to be postponed, Unless you want to do a 'Fear and Loathing' style road trip with me to Sedona. lol

BTW, I have my ticket for July 27th! Nose bleed seats, but I'll be there. Hope to see you!

After years of rumors and teasing and encouragement, Disney announced they are not moving forward with Tron : Ascension, which would have been the third Tron film.

What? Why? Because Tron : Legacy only made you 400 million at the box office?

Tron is similar to Star Trek motion pictures. A large amount of people would see Tron 3 automatically. Easy money. I guarantee it. From baby boomers to current comic convention embryo-gens.

I don't get it. I don't understand blowing off something that will almost surely make a lot of money and MADE you a lot of money the last time. Where'd you put all that Tron : Legacy profit? Up your tight white ... ?

So Tomorrowland underperformed. So WHAT. Has no bearing on what Tron 3 would do. Get over it. Get over yourselves.

It's times like this that I wish I had a podcast and just reamed Disney for a solid hour with examples of their ineptitude.

I guess that's why I am here in the middle of the night working the grill at Denny's instead of making the big decisions at Disney.

I apparently have no high-business sense, so must use my innate culinary skills to feed zombies ordering a Grand Slam as they burp Saturday night's Budweiser.

I think I'm going to be sick. So aggravating. I cannot believe it. Goddamn it!

It is a shame. The VA prolonged my father's life for more than two decades. But in the early seventies, severe cutbacks started to eviscerate what was once a good option for veterans.

I agree and I'd happily pay any extra taxes for that. It pisses me off how poorly our service men and women are treated. They deserve better.

Lack of capitalization for proper nouns, frequently found in print, in movies, in books, in wedding invitations- in everything! I guess it is some kind of styling, but I don't like it. I also don't like the  adverb/adjective misuses ("drive safe" etc) but that is another rant.

ps: on the VA stuff, it is shameful. The conditions might never have been as good as some private doctor or hospital but it, at least formerly, did good service. I recall one family friend in particular who extolled it all the time. Laughed and said "what a great deal he got" only serving a few years in WWII and "they helping with the cancer" (in the early 80's.) Without insurance or wealth he would've been screwed but VA was there. Secret waiting lists, these internal "jokes" about veteran suicides (with nobody getting fired, of course,) and the services kicking people out on psychological/psychiatric reasons to save costs (meanwhile lowering standards to get recruits and multiple deployments,) targeting veterans as a "threat" to the country, bonus compensation to bureaucrats to delay paying or denying claims,  etc are beyond contempt.

Thankfully, they were there for your dad. And to be perfectly honest, I am quite thankful for the VA -- most of the time. I had a pretty bad experience that day and vented a bit.

Yeah, they truly suck at times (mostly a handful of idiots  that can`t be bothered to give a sh*t about their fellow human beings), but there are some wonderful, caring professionals in the VA system. Unfortunately, they are over-worked, and under-represented.

I hope someone can fix the VA. Not for me, but for all those youngsters (and oldsters that are ailing) I always see there, that were blown-up in that damn war.

Radio DJ's and hosts with really forced, fake, phony radio voices.  Are they taught to do that in broadcast school or something?  I was listening to a show earlier that I'd never heard before, the topic was interesting but the guy hosting had one of those over-the-top morning drive caricature voices and so I'd just had to turn it off.

I'm not sure if it is taught or if people just copy each other but a similar phenomena can be found with the infamous "NPR" voice which is found on public radio stations in many diverse markets, even in areas where many people speak with heavy local or regional accents.

Oh yeah the NPR voice, almost forgot about that, it sure makes for riveting radio (not).  One of the many reasons I miss Car Talk on NPR is the hosts were very smart (one of them even had a PhD) but spoke with their normal voices and seemed like real down-to-earth funny guys.

I do listen to NPR's morning show from time to time though.

What irks me the most about Radio, is the speed of delivery of the announcers in the rapid fire commercials AND the spilt-second (or should I say 100ths of second between commercials). It just ruins the mood that was set by the talk show that I was listening to. Communiccation is taking place while the show is on. Some kind of "attack" takes place during the ads.

With digital recordings and tools, any advertiser can speed up their ad to fit whatever ad time they are willing to pay for. And the greedy station, will pack as many ads in a break as is humanly possible, and by default, one commerical jumps right into another, with 100ths of second between them. This is maddening and annoying. I do not think that radio has always been this way. What a Shame. . .

That also sounds like a case of Noory Phantom Limb (NPL).  It can flare up for no apparent reason and/or in conjunction with other radio discomfort, including but not limited to : exposure to various NPR circuits, morning disc jock itch, and vitamin infomercial collapse disorder.

Big Pharma is stumped regarding a cure for Noory Phantom Limb.

NPL support groups are available and advised.
