Freakazoid update:
Hanging out in front of the hotel this morning incinerating vegetable matter. 3 out of 5 Lobos were there, plus a bunch of other of us chicano types. Nice spending quiet time, memories, and Aldous BS, with my favorite hard working band.  :D

...Living in a rock and rock fantasy does not suck.

The Kinks-A Rock'n'roll Fantasy.

Tell that to Kurt Cobain.

Man, this is a hard thread to post on when your computer's trying to do something else.

That dude went beyond rock and roll music for his final fantasy.  Not the first, though, and sure not the last.  Never into his whole angst vibe.  It would be more nightmare than fantasy, for me.  ;)

See, the thing about yer Gobi Toad is, it lives under the desert. And every seven years it waits for some rainfall...

Been on a Catherine Wheel kick lately. For the uninitiated, they were kind of shoegaze with influences by bands like Pink Floyd and later Talk Talk (Tim Friese-Greene produced their debut album and played keyboards for them occasionally).

So, picked up Los Lobos' live 40th anniversary CD.  I like it!

What a talented bunch of guys. I had several albums in my collection but sold them during rock bottom phase. Brilliant music

I just discovered an enjoyable music history show called Rock Family Trees from the BBC.

This is not a new song
But it's what I'm smoking now

Los Lobos Wake Up Dolores

My legs are tired
My face feels hot
Wake up Dolores
Please try to walk
Oh sacred night
Ocuiltin
Moyacatla
Our light is dim
We have so far to go
The stones are hard
On this endless road
Oh sacred night
On quetzal plumes
Of dying suns
And purple moons
Oh sacred night
As an eagle soars
Our spirits fly
To our gentle rest
Under loving sky
Oh sacred night
On quetzal plumes
Of dying suns
And purple moons
Oh sacred night
Ocuiltin
Moyacatla
Otlica
Auh in caltech

My boys wanted to get me a high-quality, wireless, portable music system for my bicycling, camping, tripping lifestyle. They asked me to do the research and let them know what I wanted.

Here it is- the Libratone Zipp
http://www.libratone.com/home/products/zipp/

Non-bluetooth, airplay and play direct (proprietary local wifi) capable, thus virtually eliminating compression etc. Excellent sound which is remotely adjustable according to environment (outdoor, room size, floor, shelf, etc.). Much nicer sound than the Bose portables. Pricey, about 400 quid. Distributed amongst 3 sons that's only $133 each. Quite the deal.

Ok kiddos, get ready to watch how it 's done. (Back in my day) Rock and Roll was never s'posed to be about selling shit. What you will witness here is the real thing, complete with white-fros, shirtless amped up guitarists, polyester outfits and frilled shoulders, with enough testosterone to raise the Titanic. Stand back boys. The ladies need my help dancing...
(Oh, and turn up the volume please.)
