Actually the movie-makers were trying to make political points.  I saw an interview with them that was an extra on a dvd.  Some warped idea of the world that they had if right-wingers get in power.  Of course it is the left that thinks of these sick fantasies and puts them up on the screen.  I wasn't being serious when I made my comment about purging them though the anarchists who destroy need to be punished harshly.

If people destroy property or disturb the peace, they should be prosecuted for those things, not for their political beliefs, anarchists or not. I'm sure you agree with that.

Oh yeah. I wasn't trying to imply anything else.

I snowboard at Mt. Bachelor all the time. I like Bend, it's a very nice place. I always stay at Eagle Crest Resort. Only the best for ole rekcuf.

Windsurfing at Hood River  ... best of times.

Martial Law is coming to US 100% sure of that {according to my Russian sources} question is when,..maybe not yet..
maybe when Trump is settled in the office and starts implementing what he promised ...and then idiots will loose their shit...
It's possible... I have seen many posts stating that the Iraqis needed a strong dictator like Sadam to keep them in line... That they were not responsible enough to handle a democracy.  Maybe that will apply to some other countries as well?

It's not that the Iraqis aren't responsible enough for democracy.  Rather, as an Islamic culture, they simply don't view the concept of democracy as a sacred cornerstone of good living or good government the way a typical westerner would.  It's just not so important to them.  That's the Islamic world.

The Portland protest has gotten out of hand again.

Anytime, WOTR. Looks like things are calming down again.  Noory mentioned something on his show so I had to check it out again.  Turned it back on and there were explosions and people running around.

From what I can tell, Soros is not getting his moneys worth out of this.  ;)

Trump may have loved the uneducated, but I love the mentally challenged...  Watching them walk up to the police line, loose their shit and then walk away is amusing.  Glad the cops have a sense of humour about this.

I saw where they had a small protest in Vancouver, BC about the election.   About 50 people were protesting.  Complete morons. lol.

I see some of the Trump supporters on TV saying that the protesters are somehow contesting the election by expressing their dissatisfaction with the results. That may seem logical but that's not what their complaint is.

What they are asking for is Trump to disavow the campaign rhetoric which was threatening to certain groups of Americans and make clear what he believes in and doesn't believe in. I don't think they expect a touchy-feely speech, but they need more assurance than the brief remarks he's made since Tuesday.

His tweet didn't help. Rather than try to calm things down, he told the protesters that they were being unfair to him. Wrong message. For a president, anyway. So now, the troublemakers take the opportunity to jump in and get violent. We saw this pattern over and over in the '60s. Leaders have to lead and here's Trump's first opportunity to do that.

I really hope this doesn't become the Twitter presidency.  Someone needs to tell Donald to ditch Twitter while he is in office or hand it over to some reliable staff.

As for your explanation, I have yet to read it  from a news source. Most of the protesters are certainly not saying that.  Rather they are saying things like Impeach Trump and he is not our President.

I have seen some on-the-street interviews with fairly articulate people and they are asking for Trump to make his intentions clear. Namely, that he is not planning on targeting groups of Americans. I have to say that I'm seeing better coverage on the Euro-News and BBC channels than on American cable (very dumbed-down commentary, as in "People unhappy...people marching...oh look, a trash can on fire").

The press hasn't gotten a handle on this situation yet but that's my impression of what's happening.

Not according to this interview.  He wants rent control, and better funded schools.

We talked to Gregory McKelvey, the 23-year-old Lewis & Clark law student who is leading the demonstrations.... "We think that because Trump is president, it becomes even more urgent for our city to become what people want it to be. It’s an anti-Trump protest but also a call for change in our city because we need to push for progress here."

Rent control, police reforms, more transparency in the government, better-funded schools to where we don’t have lead in the water, no more tax breaks to major corporations, increased mental health funding. It’s the stuff people talk about all the time. We need to stop talking about it and working towards it and just do it.

The city needs to begin meeting with our group, especially Ted Wheeler moving forward, so we can enact these changes. These protests give us more leverage in our talks with the city because they don’t want us to continue to be in the streets."

Basically, it's time to, as Norland suggested, start seal clubbing them.  The idea that they will use violence as leverage for their demands according to the organizer is just bullshit.

Read the interview here: http://www.kgw.com/news/local/dont-shoot-portland-leader-on-why-trump-protests-shut-highway-in-portland/350862192

***Maybe some of the other protests are being held to have Trump declare his good intentions, but not this one (or at least that is not why the organizer put it together.)

I've been hearing Fuck Trump from the protesters in Portland.  I really don't know about anywhere else.

The earlier protests and yesterday's did not seem focused on local issues, just Trump. I'm sure that anyone with a grievance or a cause will try to attach themselves to the Trump protests. The thing that was always kind of nuts about these big protests and rallies is that people would go to protest one, maybe two things and start hearing speeches from every anti-this or pro-that organization in existence. "Yeah, right, okay, whatever, I'll be against it...sorry, for it."
