Nobody knows who killed Bob Crane. DNA analysis of blood found in Carpenter's rental car did not match Crane. But the guest did have to share that he viewed all of the porn movies several times looking for clues.

Thanks, GS! I seem to recall that right after it happened, there was speculation that Crane and Carpenter had been more than friends, and that Carpenter killed him in a jealous rage. I'd forgotten about it until a few years ago, when the story about Crane filming himself with various women came out. Was anything mentioned about the original story?

Not sure what you mean. He talked about the trial and acquittal of Carpenter and how everyone was sure that he was guilty and it would be proved by the 2016 DNA results. I read something that said his son had suspicions about both Caroenter and his ex-wife. There was no forcible entry so the assumption was that Crane knew the murderer. The only thing missing was a tripod which they assume was the murder weapon because the indentation in the head wound looked like it could have been caused by the end of a tripod.

I checked the show out last nite, and enjoyed it as pure speculative entertainment.  But I did notice this guy, a self-proclaimed expert (twice), couldn't quite describe consistently what the Akashic Field is - referring to it alternatively as a repository of human consciousness, a creativity generation source, an intuition enhancer, a place to contact the other side, i.e. whatever kinda made it sound good.

Yes, I noticed that too!  May chat tonight, Zee!

The guest said that Carpenter was bisexual but Crane was not and they never messed around like that.

Going to listen to the first two hours.  Always enjoy Bill Birnes and he should make this interesting.

Haha. Did Richard say "Feb"? Must be written in his contract

I always enjoy Syrett.  I think he does a great job.  Last week with Connie....well, her horrible articulation and vocabulary skills are nearly as pathetic as Noory's.  She annoys me.

Syrett is articulate, bright, and asks good questions.  And, yes.....I was very uninterested in his recent program topics.  Tonight will be just fine.

Yes I've been - ok, slowly - getting on board the Syrett train.  He does some good show prep, he's interested in the topics, does the second-best intros after Knapp, and he's even got a good, if slightly nerdy, sense of humor.  Definitely gets an extra point tonite for mentioning his fave comic is Steven Wright.  8)

George added it to the guest host contract, along with paranormaldate & beets mentions.

If Syrett ever does a time travel show, he should open with this quote:  I went to a restaurant that serves "breakfast at any time". So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.

I'm a big Steven Wright fan too. Brilliant, twisted, dry humor in that deadpan delivery

Lunch with George? The idea is enough to make me lose my lunch. And, seriously, what is with this Feb thing?

GravitySucks

One thing I like about RS's style is the bits of trivia he adds about the bumper music when he comes back from a break. Sometimes it is his personal experience, other times it is just a nugget of general trivia.

I wouldn't want to be eat lunch in the same timezone as Noory or his sidekick.

CozyRozie

Noory eats his own bugers.

The Einstein, Tesla book sounds good. Think I will skip the next guest. Hope everyone has a good night and sweet dreams

Lunch with George? ...

It's at some Greek place in L.A.  They'll offer stuffed grape leaves (bring your own stuffing).

Man, I'm glad I checked this thread!  Wright was so flat-line deadpan, he almost wasn't there.  Love his stuff.

Been distracted trying to find out what all those 200,000 Oroville refugees ended up doing in Chico.  "Chico, The Higher Ground and #1 Party Town".

Margaret Grey always said that you never had it so good unless you have sex with a Greek man while he is eating a sandwich with cucumber sauce. Callers were outraged and disgusted. Phil had to tell Margaret to 'tone it down.'

Great, now i'm feeling wistful for the old days of Phil Hendrie...thanks. Btw, did not Syrett have a good weekend, or what? The topic of false memories was particularly good!

Syrett did a good job. Just listened to the show. Birnes's segment was interesting and the false-memory stuff was great. Being a Canadian I was hoping Dr. Shaw, or a caller or Richard, would mention Dr. Donald Ewen Cameron and "psychic driving" and the MK-Ultra stuff with regard to false-memory (he was trying actually to false personhood in a way) and the history of ethical problems in psychiatry. She seemed to think/say that the profession was ethical and no experiments or lasting side-effects from university subjects in experimentation.

I like Syrett. I used to avoid him but I've grown to like him.

His voice seems to have grown on me and seems less NPR-esque and his shock or uncomfortableness with certain comments by callers or guests is endearing. ("oh Lord" under his breathe, etc) Those Canadians with their politeness and safe society confronted by deranged callers or stories of violence in the USA is funny.
