Shit ..most Americans don't even want to travel to Europe ..much less two centuries in the future
I doubt that. But most Americans don't have enough time off work to make the trip worthwhile and lack the funds. Plus the government is making it harder and harder with passport being more expensive and delays, capital controls, TSA hassles, etc.

Seriously ? It costs 75 bucks to get a passport and just don't try to go through airport security with the costco sized bottle of shampoo ..

Serious, most Americans have, what, 2weeks vacation per year? Many have less or these days have almost none. And the cost of an international flight these days is pretty expensive unless you are lucky enough to be very flexible or live close to a few airports. Then what you take a 6-9hr flight depending on connections just to get to the UK or Western Europe and then confronted with spending what a week, maybe less in an expensive city. Hardly enough time to travel around or even see a small part of a larger city. Most Americans can't even see our national parks or large cities much less take that kind of trip and would need to save up quite a lot if one has a family- or even as a couple. I'm all for it but it is a big expensive and planning. Most make a financial calculation and say I'll just go to the beach or lakehouse or something here. Or buy a jetski, a new tv, etc. Less time, cheaper, and more relaxing then dealing with jet-lag, hassles, etc for a short jaunt to Europe. It sucks because we would be in a better position if we traveled more- but those are the facts. Anyway as a tourist you are usually just that. A better option is to work overseas or find a large American, or international, company to work for and then get posted abroad.

It lasts for ten years. Just how cheap are you?

According to State.gov. It now costs $110 even to renew plus additional fees (if you want to expedite or also get the card version.) For new passport and card it costs $140 plus the additional "execution" fee of $25 (hope that doesn't mean execute you if one is on a FEMA list or something. Kidding. Plus any additional fees (if you want to expedite.) So not that expensive but still slightly. And plan your travels well ahead because a big backlog apparently.

Yeah, time travel to the past is impossible. Time travel to the future, however is not only possible, but already achieved. Titor's story is bullshit.

If you go by the theory used by Warren Ellis in Planetary, you can travel into the past, but only as far as the when the first time machine is turned on.

I prefer the time machine model in the classic "Time Machine" movie where can you easily push the lever forward or backward and the lighted numerical dials show the date. :)

I stand corrected. Eleven dollars a year. Shiver me timbers!
