However you might want to rationalise it as a 'defensive weapon' its one job is to fire bullets at someone or something. You can't do much else with a gun. As far as I know, those people weren't tickled to death, so it's perfectly legitimate to question guns once again, but there is a part of the brain in the American mind that can't process that elementary point. Of course guns aren't the 'only' reason, but some people can't even concede a point that it might be a factor.

I don't believe there is a thing anyone can do to stop these terrible acts except to be prepared for them if they occur.  At this point in time, I believe that all Americans should purchase a gun and carry it, get some training, carry a pocket first aid kit, and get trained for that too.  Our leaders have consistently failed us and they will continue to do so.  Do you live in a location which has restrictions on firearms?  Either move or go ahead and carry a gun anyway.  Stop being fish in a barrel.  The idea that some scumbag politico (Who has armed protection) should dictate to you how, when and if you can protect yourselves is a travesty.  I wish things were different, but this is our immediate reality.  Arm yourselves people.
