I keep hoping She would do a Native American-centric show. Preferably with an actual Native American, as opposed to a faker like Robert Ghostwolf.
What about Red Elk? Was he legit or a Warren type of "Indian?" I recall he could levitate....and did so on air with Art? On radio.

The subject I'd really like to learn more about is the Ghost Dance movement of the late 1800's. The idea that if Native Americans performed the dance correctly, the buffalo would return, and whitey would vanish.

I've heard you mention this. I am quite familiar with what all went down at that time and I have relatives whose grandparents were involved in the movement. The ceremonial shirts were also supposed to protect from bullets. There is a story about a Comanche chief who saw a ghost dancer get shot off his mount and so said nevermind that. BTW, Heather is a friend of my adopted dad who is a well known Navajo medicine man. He's got no interest in being interviewed.

That would be interesting.

I suggested Heather look into the story about the unsolved murders somewhere between 1,200 to  4,000 cases of murdered or missing First Nation women and girls in Canada. Maybe I should send her a e-mail to remind her about it.

I wouldn't want to listen to Heather butcher a topic that is dear to me.

I listen to Hoagland butcher topics that are somewhat dear to me nightly!

Interestingly this phenomena happens in many cultures. Berserker in old days who, depending on view would take certain shrooms or just in warlike ecstasy, go crazy into battles (some of which wearing animal skins and no armor) and in modern day African conflicts dressing up in women's clothing and wigs or, infamously, the "naked" warriors who, by certain drugs and witchcraft, were "bullet-proof." Not so but some interesting photos and accounts of them.

No jury would convict astroguy for offing him.

Not just there. All around Reservations, and accelerating during the (former) Shale boom in the US. But always a problem. Also a problem with sexual abuse on the Rez itself often. Sad situation.

Apparently some RCMP involvement in some of the cases and not for good reasons either. ( allegations of rape and abuse ) It is sad when so many go missing/murdered and the Government / police force look the other way.

The caller plugged his speaker into the Mic port and is talking through it.

It was years ago but I recall he "proved" he could levitate and proved it. Over the radio. I could be wrong or misremembering but I do recall it?

There were calls for the Canadian Government to look into this. I don't know if any progress has been made yet.

Well there was some guest and "expert" (maybe several) who said plants could talk (by some electronic analysis) and respond/thrive from different types of music by various experiments (and I'm not talking changing growth towards the sun or nutrients, whatever.)

I hadn't heard about the unsolved murders happening in America, but I'm sadly not surprised.

I did learn Zoe Saldana is producing a documentary on the subject.
