Awhile back there was; what was described, as an epidemic of attempted suicides at a remote native community in Northern Ontario. If I remember correctly 11 native youths tried to commit suicide. This is an extremely sad, and shocking situation.

It's easy for society at large to forget about these people way out there on a reservation. Out of sight, out of mind. Also; there is the negative stereotype attributed to natives in general, which makes it easy to demonize them.

There is a problem there also. And also COMPOUNDED by there is a high percentage of Indians who served in our military. And so get a "double" of bad social services and budgets going elsewhere due to decrees or budgets and lists. And those Veterans who are Indians are far away from VA facilities and with the Obama waiting-lists and ways to deny treatment due to "violations" (often caused by self-medication or whatever) when in service. Of all veterans. It is crazy and shameful.
