Isn't there an app to avoid these tomorrow morning regrets and/or rape claims? Aren't some school saying you should sign a contract or at least film it?  Someone should come out with a built in breathalizers/Drug-tester/age-checker/fingerprint-scanner/VD-checker mutual consent form app that could be uploaded in real-time to some Feminist organization (or BLTWAQ since it could be between "identifiers") or better yet some government department to verify, and keep on file, in case of misrememberings or regrets. But the Bar would likely shut it down. Less lawsuits or trials.

You're right.  I'm not really mad at you though, Norland.  You might want to talk to Sandra a bit though.  I did get worked up.  I guess what troubles me is that this should be a place where we can talk about these subjects openly with no fear.  Yeah, I know it is Bellgab but it is disappointing nevertheless.

Its just that it is a bit personal to me as it was the point of view that I refused to acknowledge while my brother was alive.  Had I considered it more thoughtfully then maybe my brother could have been helped and still be alive today.

No, I'm not but its not exactly an open environment where people feel at ease talking about these subjects.  It's ok to criticize but some take it to the next level.  I don't mind debating but it is not a matter of debating.  People just criticize these sort of things out of hand without actually delving into the subject.  It's aggravating more than anything.

Though though are various laws, bans, and treaties my suspicion is that the "next" big thing isn't going to be nukes, though that is what everyone is focused on, but genetic-based bioweapons. Been saying for decades though, so I hope I'm wrong. But not, necessarily, based on humans but, more subtlety, to attack crops, water supplies, and livestock maybe. What a better weapon? Deniable (could be seen as "natural," Devastating. And a country/region could even "step in" with aid and help (and get whatever it is they want in the process) and be seen as humanitarians. Then again, it could go more basic, and some country targets a particular gene seen in "others" and takes them out. It go "both ways" for us in the USA, it could be our diversity, which is usually a weakness, ends up being a good thing. Or it could be a way to subtlety take-over when one, or more than one, "race" starts dying out by people already embedded. Likely either application could be frought with blow-back and mutation or whatever and end up killing everyone or wrecking the biosphere (essentially. I'm sure some insects and obvious the viruses and bacteria used, or already existing, would survive in some places.)

Sadly, you're almost certainly correct. I can't see nations like North Korea not pursuing that kind of weaponry. An even greater danger however will be A.I.

I don't know, TBO. I've heard the stories. I was finishing up grad school when the rape "epidemic" was hitting campuses. Me and another guy who was majoring in physical education set up a on-campus self-defense class in the after hours. We had a little bit of everything, dealing with physical altercation to common sense awareness tactics to walking home from parties at 3 AM. I think six people showed up. The different campus groups responsible for student safety and advocacy didn't want to touch it, either.

And places like N.Korea with a very homogeneous population would be one of the place that could "do" it and, maybe, be the winner. At least if their tree bark soup supper could hold out til the other people are gone. The AI is interesting situation also. I don't know. One reads and sees things but still? Though it could seriously be a lack of ability for my mind to "go there." I know people like Tyson etc hate philosophy but that's where I go when it starts coming down to that, the same, maybe tired, arguments about perception, reality, thought, knowledge, and even the ability to "think" or "prove" ultimately even our own situation, much less an AI or alien or God etc system. I pulled an anti-C2C guest thing and used the dreaded herbicide against some poison ivy on one of my places back fence (the person who lives at the other property where the bush is growing I did not wish to deal with, several police cars have been there, can't speak English so well, multi-generations living there with drama and loud music and cars, etc.) Shit worked great, just sprayed on leaves and killed whole poison ivy. Though noticed today when I drove by that it also, maybe due to all our rain or my over-kill, killed a bunch of the grass at fence-line.
