Anyone read any Harry Turtledove books?
I have suggested him as a guest many times. I have never heard or seen him do an interview,  not sure he does them but think it would be great.
Discuss...?
I've read some Videssos books. well researched and a skilled writer. I think Game of Thrones borrowed some ideas from him.

Has anyone else noticed that all the people on your ignore list stopped posting the day we starting talking about shills?  This thread and the Art Bell thread have gone from 80-90% trolls to 100% regular members essentially overnight.  Fuckn weird.

Shhhhhh

Fun fact: Joe Pesci released a rap album in 1998.

"It's the bitches that'll gitcha"

I've been terrified of Pesci since Casino. If I encountered him in a dark alley I'd die of fright.

The guest is clearly well read...Sometimes that alone makes a big difference

Going to make a point....I believe with some others that MITD has had some pretty second rate guests, the B squad for sure.....then others will comment that Hearher has to start some where that she needs to build credibility before big name guests will come on the show...my problem with that is and what I believe gives us the right to be upset about the bottom of the barrel guests is that this show started out with a host who has all the feed you can get in the alternative media talk shows and could book any name in the world of the supernatural, paranormal, and anything not main stream

thats part of it..my problem at least is ..its a very limited amount of topics she seems she wants to discuss..one can only take so much UFO and creepy crawlies in a short time before its like..meh...and she cant handle...she needs liek a..Leonard Hoffsteter type of physicist on lol

In Art's GABCAST he said she should make the show her own, maybe she is starting to do that. I hope so. Then she can sink or swim on her own talent.

That is what she needs to do.  The attachment to Art will always be an albatross, imo.

Juan, you are calling in? Racism on Aliens is your bent! Come on! Call in!

Maybe if I can find a good opening. I don't want to play that card too much.

ShayP

I really am enjoying this.  It's Hoagie-esque.

ShayP

Baaahahahaha!  "They looked like there was a gym on the ship."

Everybody should read Fernando Pessoa. Nothing to do with guest but just saying.

In the Evening.

One of my favorite guitar solos. He does this thing where he drops the whammy bar until the strings bounce on the pickups with a rumble, then straight back into a tasty blues lick.

Well read is one thing. Being well spoken helps a lot too.

Understood, don't want to give away your 'tell'  ;) I enjoy it when you pull though, even when it costs me the Nordic game!

I have, JJ.  I have slacked off in the reading department in the past few years but I have "The Grapple" by him on the bookshelf, alternate history WWII book.

That was my first Alternate History book, and it hooked me.

Think that was the next in the genre that I read.

Fun stuff for sure, I'd give a listen if Harry Turtledove or another author in that genre was a guest.  For sure.

You don't know how hard it took me to resist the urge to ask if rods were fallen angels that night. Even when Heather gave me the opening to.

Shhhhhh

Talking about it seems to have run them off, so being quiet about it might bring them back ;

Seriously - it's like day and night over the span of one or two days:  every page was about 90% ignored garbage, and now they're completely gone...poof...  I wonder if shills are told to back off when people start openly calling attention to them...
