I will say he is enthusiastic, if he goes full-on Ancient Space Alien Christian-kook factor and remains this enthusiastic it could be interesting.

I imagine Ezekiel(OT), Enoch(Apochrypha) and perhaps Revelations(NT) will be in the mix.  Most of the 'received' alien biblical wisdom/prophecy stuff I have seen touches on at least those three.  I am not familiar with the Mormon stuff, I wonder if as a Unitarian/Alien he is more knowledgeable in that arena and has 'found' some evidence in those works that fits in with his theory.

I would love to hear some more about it.  Not to be judgemental, if someone wants to believe in the Flying Spaghetti monster or Cthulu, I am all about it, I even want to hear about it.  Stories are entertaining.

Good bumper there Heather.  Love the Zep!

Me too!  The aliens-as-modern-mythology thing is my favorite take.

Anyone read any Harry Turtledove books?
I have suggested him as a guest many times. I have never heard or seen him do an interview,  not sure he does them but think it would be great.
Discuss...?
A few but never got into them. Too many "real" history books that are questionable and fantasy. Most interesting is to read the same era/event written about from different "sides" or even times!

Fuck yeah...ZEP!!!!

Did Art ever play that? I can't remember he ever used that as bumper music on C2C?

If you are interested, Agent Orange does a great job describing it and answering questions in the Astrophysics thread.

Thanks. I'm a brain/quantum mechanics type. Dr. Robert Landza has interesting theories on reality and the universe via the brain. Check him out. It's "mind blowing."

Never heard of him, but just checked out wiki. What book would you recommend as a starter?

Please repost. The frozen ones are getting smaller every day. One of the things I really miss from NYC. With Gludens (brown spicy) mustard.

Oh, don't be such a wuss. Share with the class!

I was going to, but when I scrolled back to troll the comment, I saw somebody say something about not slowing the thread load-times down with video links, and thought better of it.  Thank you for being the stronger one!  Is that the one with the weight lifting Abe Lincolns and the hamster in the tube?  That's my favorite video for that song.

Heh

Not to my knowledge.  I think when JBW hosted he played some.

maybe...to be fair i have read a comic in at least ..15..18 years lol

Do yourself a favor and look for the Planetary collections. It's one of, if not the, best comic book series ever.

Jackstar

I just saw Zoolander No. 2. A++, would recommend.

ShayP

Intergalactic racism?  Okay....I want to hear more.

I only thought MITD only had the rights to play Art's choices of bumper music.

He writes series on alternate history and sci fi. Pick one with a subject that would interest you, they are all great. One series is about an alien invasion, reptilians...during the period of WWII and all the humans, reluctantly ban together to fight them. Hitler, Stalin, Roosevelt,  Churchill,  Tojo, etc. Very good!!!

Fun fact: Joe Pesci released a rap album in 1998.

Going to make a point....I believe with some others that MITD has had some pretty second rate guests, the B squad for sure.....then others will comment that Hearher has to start some where that she needs to build credibility before big name guests will come on the show...my problem with that is and what I believe gives us the right to be upset about the bottom of the barrel guests is that this show started out with a host who has all the feed you can get in the alternative media talk shows and could book any name in the world of the supernatural, paranormal, and anything not main stream

Chronaut

Has anyone else noticed that all the people on your ignore list stopped posting the day we starting talking about shills?  This thread and the Art Bell thread have gone from 80-90% trolls to 100% regular members essentially overnight.  Fuckn weird.

No.  The music was a problem when he started this show.  The licensing and such.  All this is still played on C2C since they can pay for it easily.

In Art's GABCAST he said she should make the show her own, maybe she is starting to do that. I hope so. Then she can sink or swim on her own talent.
