Grandma's neighbor used to grow beefsteak tomatoes bigger than supermarket grapefruits, color rich as red dye.  Miss 'em.

Yeah, try it in a couple of big pots, 12" or more on the porch where it can be contained. It's so worth it to grate it fresh, but man is it aggressive.

Good way to do it, that's more or less what I do. But if people want easy, buy GardenTone and toss some Epsom salt out every now and again. But I do recommend tossing out some azomite for micronutrients at the beginning of the growing season.

Compost...and sometimes during bloom some actual fertilizer but usually not much.
