One must also crack a raw egg on it for a good steak tartar. It is, basically, a I'm going prion and bacterial or viral situation. And, guess, what? It tastes good and, maybe, you are stronger for it. I like Filet Americain sandwiches. ha.

I try to eat steak tartar about once a month, but sometimes I go three months without (good meat is expensive). Raw eggs almost every day, and the occasional raw chicken. Unfortunately, brains can't be found anywhere around here.

My Grandfather had a butcher shop. I grew up on raw beef. I don't eat it anymore, but every once in awhile I do crave it. I just sear some tenderloin and settle for a real rare steak.
