I also think that's why he quit Dark Matter.  I don't think there was ever a non-compete with Sirius either, I think he made a deal with his wife to wait for a couple of years until his daughter was a little older to do another show, and it still didn't work out.

I would like to see him continue after this bogus bullshit is dealt with.  But a man's family is paramount in all his thoughts and actions.

Last night I listened to Heather and thought she did a great job, right behind Art Bell. Her guest was a crack pot but Heather did draw out a lot of information from him. That ability allows her to give a guest enough rope to hang themselves.

She is certainly much better than George Noory and Whitley Strieber and others that I have listened to. She has my ears trained on her and I will not be cancelling my subscription to MITD anytime in the foreseeable future. I like her nice clear voice and her "snuggling" way of interviewing guests. I agree with Art Bell that she will do well.

Art Bell "guest hosted" for a short period of time. My impression was that he really does like doing the show and wouldn't give it up for anything EXCEPT for the well being of his beautiful daughter. You could call AB a drama queen and I might agree with that view but keep in mind that that is what makes him so good at what he does. People like you and me and thousands of others love the drama. We love his "dramatic" inflections, questions and statements in response to events and guests. He is on the radio performing similar to a stage actor dramatizing events and he does it with the occasional humor with is not ordinarily associated with drama. Drama and humor are Art Bell's positive attributes. He helps us be excited, involved and alive. Again, that is what makes him so good at what he does.

There are quite a few ancient dry lake beds in Nevada, consisting of fine grained sediments.  That's what the salt flats are.  Not sure if one of these playas is near Pahrump or not though.

In for a shocker guys?.... in my opinion this was an inside job (it usually is).......My gf who is a Fillipina (same age as me)  agrees with me that Artbell's wife should be a suspect...And that the person who shot at Mr Bell has some kind of communication or relation with Arts wife!  Either a side bf who is looking to take Artbell out of the equation then hook up with Arts wife and collect some money or just simply a hitman hired by Arts wife,I know a fair bit about the Philippines, and I can tell you that young wives with older husbands are a recipe for disaster, cases of wives killing their older husbands has increased over the years in the Philippines.

Anyone familiar with the Morgan Ingram case? While it's on the severe side of the spectrum, stalker cases are very tricky.

Maybe the PD don't take his claims seriously? I can imagine guns being shot out in the open are a normal thing for that area, and him being a more well-known resident doesn't help. I'm very conflicted here, but I want to believe his story.
